Nazri tells Utusan to stop racist agenda

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 — Umno maverick Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has continued to condemn Utusan Malaysia for its “outdated” racist propaganda, saying the Umno-owned newspaper must accept that Malaysia is a multi-racial country.

“They should stop it because how would we (the Malays) like it if people say that Malays are lazy and stupid? We would also get angry. Don’t do to others what we don’t want others to do unto us,” the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department told The Malaysian Insider.

The Umno supreme council member had earlier castigated the Malay daily for defending the controversial National Civics Bureau, or Biro Tata Negara (BTN), for its courses which he said were racist. The opposition has also claimed that BTN propagated political indoctrination.

“And more so now, under the prime minister (Datuk Seri Najib Razak) and 1 Malaysia, we must accept that Malaysia is a multi-racial country,” he added.

Utusan has been a mouthpiece for Umno ultra-nationalists and a tool for defending the party’s “Ketuanan Melayu” (Malay supremacy) policy.

The newspaper has also been criticised for being used to attack the opposition and ratcheting up racial tensions.

  1. So you claim that the present leader of MCA is different from those of the past. How different can it be?

Once he got elected to be the president Ong Tee Keat immediately looked for ways to kick out Chua Soi Lek.

And Chua in turn look for help from arm no.

After the whirlpool has churned somewhat, yet another group of "leaders" turned the whole thing upside down by back stabbed Ong.

You can say whatever you want.

You are even entitled to whatever dream you wish.

But the truth is, MCA is still the same, with the same type of rotten leaders, from Ong Tee Keat down to the branch bosses.

It is the same MCA which has done serious damage to the Chinese.

The same MCA which has helped arm no in robbing the Chinese blind.

The same MCA that nobody respect anymore.

Why do you think Nazri has turned from Zero to Hero ? Why does he have the guts and balls to say what all the MCA leaders should be saying about Utusan ?

  4. Because MCA is MCA, always has been MCA, and will forever be MCA.

Useless, irrelevant, infested with running dogs.

  5. Above criticism is fair as has been observed so far the way MCA operated. MCA and its leaders must show they can stand up on its legs to take a swipe at UMNO as they are alleged to be equal partners in BN. The way MCA operates at present is appalling - you can't pretend not to comment or take sides whenever it is your right to speak up. If you keep quiet you have no right to exist as MCA members or the Party. Correct totally becoming irrelevant to a point and getting worse. MCA leaders, nobody can defent against such criticism or deny it inability to as they have become subsernient to UMNO. You better wake up - another tsumnami is coming on your way - this type you'll be otally wiped out. This is the truth. Ask any chinese - they will tell you that. Please lets face the real situation - do not continue in your deial mode. The next general election will prove fatal and that will spell the end of MCA. Leaders must not deny the powerof the chinese community especially in this present crisis where the trio have played themselves into the hands of UMNO and the inability to solve the crisis led to a compromise and unrealistic politics at the expense of the Party. Believe it or not ! It appear that yopu are a bunch of banana leaves hailed from the sky - they're worth nothing. Is that what you're. Take need anf think long and hard. NOWTIME

Please do not criticize MCA. MCA is always MCA and she have the noble visions and missions for the Chinese.

Let OTK and CSL serve and prove that as environment and circumstances change they are able to shift their mindsets to serve effectively. I for one have the confidence that they are capable and would not disappoint the Chinese community.

  7. MCA is always MCA, that part is correct.

However, you omitted another part, and that is, MCA has always been MCA, in actively participating in destroying what the Chinese have built.

You helped arm no in robbing us.

You helped arm no in stopping our children from getting university education.

You helped arm no in denying our right as full citizens in this country.

You helped arm no in taking away our businesses, our livelihood, our hopes, our future.

MCA, a bunch of cowardice running dogs.

The problem is when good leaders come by some leaders who have self vested interest try to destroy it.

I stand by my words MCA is always MCA and not MCA has been MCA. Leaders change and MCA remains.

Some leaders have been in the comfort zone and when OTK tries to reinvent and reenergize the party he found himself facing some walls erected to fail his mission.

These lost souls should come to their senses and be able to stand on their own to be effective and make the impossible possible. I talk through my own experiences

  10. Hope that OTK/CSL can change as fast as lightning speed as it is the hope of chimese to thump ARNO on the way to no fresh election and yet preserve the honour of MCA. Anything less is lea dishonour. What are you waiting for? It is hard to rewind/track down for all the damage the party has done over the last donkey years. Speed up!Men

  11. Leaders have changed and MCA remains.

    True, very very true.

MCA still remains MCA, the ever so eager helper for arm no to destroy the Chinese.

That is what MCA is all about.

Discipline, the lack of it in MCA. Nobody dares to use the stick because the Chinese NGOs would react and sympathise with them. Look at how CMF and WKS's sandiwara which has been manipulated.

OTL/CSL have to be firm to protect the dignity of MCA and they need the morale support.

  26. I can't thank MCA enough for what happened to me.

Gotten 7 A's out of the 8 subjects I took in MCE, local university sent me the "dukacita" letters.

MCA did not help either as they were sepakat with those who had deny me the chance to study in local U.

So I went abroad, by my own mean.

It took me couple of years of working before I went abroad. Those were the couple of years that really opened my eyes to the reality.

When I ended up abroad, I worked, illegally most of the time, to earn money for tuition, books, lodging and food.

By working there, I mixed with the locals, and gained a lot of experience that I would never gain had I study in local U.

So, a big thank you to MCA, for your irrelevancy has done me good !

Understand your predicament and pains. Self pity is no pity at all.

Many of us, at that time suffered the same fate. Took my MCE in 1969.

I stayed back and faced the consequences. I did not give up and understand what you had gone through as I too had my many unpleasant stories to tell. I refused to be a second class citizen. Against the tide I soldier on and I am glad to say that I retired a contented man, achieving what I wanted to do holding to the principle no one can step on me without my permission. No political parties helped me, I have to stress. Now, I am not paid to preach what I have been doing to instill confidence to the dejected ones so that they can see light at the other end of the tunnel.

So my advice is to be positive. Identify the problems and take positive steps to solve it. Many people who took my advice are successful now. No mental blockage please.

For this reason I am giving my support to OTK and CSL whom I trust will be able to revatalise and reengineer MCA to serve the community. Such leaders are difficult to come by and we must know that every human being has his amall little weaknesses but the differences are OTK/CSL stature and conviction to serve.

  28. "Keep your chin up"

    "Keep a positive outlook"

    "Tough it out"

Words like that may sound nice, but it does not mean shit to many Chinese who have had their hope dashed by the racist system controlled by arm no.

I simply can not understand you.

Why help an entity that has been giving us all the pain and suffering?

Why help an entity that has destroyed the future of many of our brethren and sisthren by their willingness to join force with that evil racist arm no?

Why help prolong the suffering of the Chinese?

    Aren't all the sufferings enough?

Do you want more Chinese to suffer?

Do you want more Chinese to have their hope dashed?

Do you want more Chinese to end up in between a rock and a hard place?

What type of Chinese are you?

Or are you even a Chinese?

I am Chinese and a son of a labourer who have achieved many firsts which have been said to be impossible.

Confidence and and self respect are important. No one step one me without my permission.

Ask ourselves how much have we contributed to our present predicaments.

Have we contributed anything for the betterment of the nation and the Chinese community. Or just criticise. I suggest you compile a comprehensive list of problems faced by the community and take proactive steps to highlight them.

MCA is one option but if you are uncomfortable then choose whichever channel you think fit.

Moaning and shouting is no longer the means to solve problems.

We need to be united so that our voice is heard loud and clear.

  30. unsatisfied with UMNO upholding the federal constitution - problem? so kick out MCA and give PR a chance to make necessary reform/totally change the federal constitution - remedy... give PR more than 2/3 majority next GE.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why kick out MCA? MCA have no problem. Its problem are the few lost souls who need to be disciplined.

Are you sure you can trust PR when yesterday one of the PAS leaders said, "Buat sementara biarlah kita lupakan perbezaan di antara kita." Do you understand the implication. It sounds fishy and frightening. Sweeping all the differences under the carpet for a while waiting for the appropriate time to use them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. PR needs more 2/3 to reform/change the FEDERAL CONSTITUTION so MCA GERAKAN MIC and UMNOOO must be kicked out from PUTRAJAYA and the parliment - especially for local council elections so chinese will get back all ours and others too or just what the UMNO had taken from us

    ReplyDelete
  33. "Ask ourselves how much we have contributed to our present predicaments."

Sir, you are making less and less sense !

What the hell have we done to "contribute to our present predicaments" ?

Just what the hell have the Chinese done to deserve such an accusation ?

You mean to tell me, and also all the Chinese, that our contribution to this country isn't enough ?

Just so what is "ENOUGH" for you ?

When we change our name to "Ali bin Hasan" ?

Is that what you mean ?

"Have we contributed anything for the betterment of the nation and the Chinese community?"

Again, what the hell are you talking about ?

You mean to say, after EVERYTHING that the Chinese have contributed to this nation, since BEFORE this nation gained its independence --- social peacefulness, economically, development of the country, cultural infusion of Lion Dance / Bak Kut Teh / Tanglong / Moon Cake / Ang Pao, our loyalty to this country, and much much more --- you still question if the Chinese have had contribute to the betterment of the nation ?

Just who the hell are you to post that kind of question ?

Who fought the Japanese back in World War II ?

Who worked hard to bring this nation back from 1967, 1984 and 1997 economic disasters ?

Who paid the dragon share of taxes ?

No matter what the Chinese have contributed, it is never enough.

No matter what the Chinese have sacrified, it is never enough.

We will always be questioned, be suspected, be sidelined.

Where is MCA in all of these ?

Siding with arm no, in questioning the Chinese, in suspecting the Chinese, in sidelining the Chinese, like you just did.

Shame on MCA and shame on you !

  34. It's not about how much money we have. It's about how committed are we in the politics of the country. Be part of the system and not blame others when we are just interested in making money and hoping others must take care of our welfare.

Get involved in politics seriously to mould the country. Do not blame our parents or grandparents 'cos of the constraint they may have to face or MCA which is merely a vehicle for us. The members decide and if you are not interested in the party then leave her to those who are trying to accoriding to the present needs of the nation. Again, do not let others step on you without your permission but you must help yourself too.

Be a giver as well as a receiver.

Because of this MCA virus the Chinese in this nation face tremendous hardships and constant heartaches.

Because of this MCA virus every single day the Chinese are being reminded that they are "Pendatang".

Get rid of this MCA virus and the Chinese will have a chance to become an equal partner in this nation.

  45. MCA has out live it usefulness many years ago. It has lost touch with the Chinese community. It is no longer relevant. Why keep the dinosaur around? It belongs to the museum. It is just a relic to remind us of its glory and it is failure. It is time to move on.

  46. Bravo to those who disagree about the role of MCA! True MCA has nor done much yet blame it on the chinese when they represent chinese. The present predicarment is the result of MCA slacking or don't care about chinese. Just look at Penang, DAP manage to form the government taking away from Gerakan when it chief minister is a puppet to Armno likewise MCA following in its footsteps. So many issues disadvangeous to chinese everywhere in terms of education, social justice, etc., and yet MCA still sleep in the cradle with Armno lulling it to sleep and sleep tight and forever. Now , even now when it comes BTN MCA has no voice and what can be expected from this kind of Party. So if I were you forget about all the promises about changing atttitudes and mindsets, ithese won't happen, it is deeply ingrained in selfishness culture too entrenched to break and who would believe. When MCA comes to the crunch then they promise this and that. What's really happening? It takes alot of crises to wake up MCA and yet still adamant and not admitting to its total failures in discharging the affairs of the chinese. OTK must think real hard. tThe best is for MCA to go solo. All chinese are very tired for the upteem years and we do not want excuses. Your guess what MCA will do is as good as mine - nothing can come out good or right even if you have a Lim Kit Sang there.

  48. Think this blog is good as it allows freedom of expression of pent up feelings of tiredness, disgust and always think of chinese must do something to help the chinese in this country. All the remarks must not be considered as derogatory because many want to give a piece of their reality and experience when confronting the enemy next door who even tried to sabortage MCA in the guise of merely helping in particular in the present crisis which the three rebels have started. Think this bolg is also good to show our perspective in how MCA can now direct itself and make a comback to its original intention to be equal partner in BN and to assauge the feelings of depression and hardship so many have felt when the chinese leaders have failed them or fought for them. Think MCA must not deny that there was dislocation of duty somewhere and that must be remedied and to start anew a new era of chinese dynamism and to rally the chinese for a common aim not only for their survival and success but oversee important aspects of policy are not angling chinese further into abyss or oblivion. Wonder this can be done. Have doubts as chinese leaders don't tend to fight for the chinese but serve only to preserve the status quo to the disadvantage of chinese and to the supremacy of another . We need a well-oiled machinery to take care of the chinese and this machinery must be managed by really fortright leaders who are self-sacrificing and who do not glorify their stomarch and lust for greed and power but to serve.
