Penang CM hit by sedition probe, DAP outraged

Selangor DAP chief Ean Yong Hian Wah wants the police to stop a probe against party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng for allegedly making seditious remarks.

“The police are acting swiftly. They are being used by Barisan Nasional as part of their political machinery to attack Pakatan Rakyat,” lamented Ean Yong, the Seri Kembangan state assemblyperson and also Teoh's former boss.

Yesterday, several media reports quoted Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar alleging that Lim made seditious remarks about Teoh's death during the inaugural Pakatan convention in Shah Alam on Dec 19.

According to Utusan Malaysia, a police report was lodged against Lim over the incident by the police themselves.

Yesterday, a group of 30 people from Perak DAP held a protest in Pantai Remis to express their opposition to the “politically motivated” police investigation (photo).

Inquest delayed to new year

Meanwhile, Ean Yong accused the BN federal government of trying to delay the process of the inquest into Teoh's death.

The inquest, which was scheduled to resume on Dec 9, was postponed to Jan 7 after the Sungai Buloh Hospital refused to hand over Teoh's X-rays to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) pathologist Prof Peter Vanezis.

Vanezis is a renowned British forensic pathologist who have worked on numerous high profile cases, including Princess Diana's death.

According to Ean Yong, the situation has coloured the public perception that Teoh had not died from suicide, as alluded by certain officials and BN-friendly media organisations.

“Even though the BN government wishes to control the media and information (flow) in this country, they cannot control the free minds of the people,” he added.

Words don't kill, killers do

Meanwhile, four Selangor DAP parliamentarians ticked the police off for their “misguided priority”.

They urged the police to "tackle crime with the same vigour they are putting in to intimidate and persecute Pakatan leaders".

“Guan Eng's statement cannot be deemed as unsubstantiated remarks as he was only echoing the conclusion of the acclaimed Thai forensic pathologist Dr Porntip Rojanasunan, who attended the second post-mortem on Teoh Beng Hock last month as an observer, that there was an 80 percent possibility of homicide in Beng Hock's death,” they said in a statement released today.

“We want to remind Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar that Guan Eng was only repeating what millions of people in the country and the world are saying.”

The statement was signed by Tony Pua (PJ Utara MP), Gobind Singh Deo (Puchong), Charles Santiago (Klang) and Teo Nie Ching (Serdang).

“PDRM should be putting more resources into tackling real rather than imaginary criminals. Words don't kill, killers do. Khalid Abu Bakar need to be reminded that PDRM should take care of the interest of rakyat, not the interest of MACC and/or BN.”

Oh these people who wants crime stop but protecting the criminals . They would politicise and protect car thieves and can say anything under the sky whether right or wrong , true or false without fear of being prosecuted .

Lim Guan Eng , cannot and does not have the quality of a CM and does not fit to be CM , still thinking and acting like an Opposition while forgetting he is now the CM of Penang . A good politician does not go around claiming this and claiming that and making a seditious statement while the case is still in the courts .

Just like he was arrested and jailed for making claims that the underaged girl was in jail while the rapist was running around free when the actual fact is that the girl was placed at a welfare home as she is underaged nad not in jail . Lim Guan Eng never learns , same like his father Mr Royal Commission , everything must go under a Royal Commission of Inquiry . Another idiotic slanted eye alien .

  5. Dear J4OTK

Do you sincerely believe that the MACC was not responsible for TBH death ? Do you not recall what the MACC said about TBH death ?

I do not like to link MACC which is an institution and the MACC officers .

Its just like some American soldiers who murdered innocent Iraqis and saying or implying that the American Army or Military is murdering innocent Iraqis . Next will be the whole American nation is responsible .

If the MACC officers did murder TBH , its those over zealous officers who are responsible , NOT the MACC even though they work for the MACC as its never the policy of govt agencies to murder innocent people or suspects .

At times there can be very stubborn suspects like in some criminal suspects whom you'll never get anything out from them , and the only way is to really worked them out .

Like they say , you play with the sword , you die by the sword . Criminals are criminals , they only understand the language of tough talking .

In the case of LGE , he must understand that he is the CM of a state and not an opposition member . He must understand that before the court can rule that TBH is indeed murdered , it is up to the court to rule NOT him pronouncing MACC guilty by public perception as it has become prejudice to the defendants .

What happens if the court rule the other way ?? Will it become any judiciary fiasco ? that the court is ruling in favor of the govt ?

He MUST understand that as a CM there are things that he can say , and there are things he cannot say even though evidence points it to that . Its just like what happens if PM say that the MACC officers are innocent ?

The court trial is still not yet finished , what happens if TBH is murdered as what LGE says but not by MACC officers but by someone else ?

Many , many unanswered questions ....we do not know what really happen during those few hours of his life .
