‘Reveal probe findings’
IPOH: The findings of the MCA investigation panel into the snoop squad should be revealed to close the chapter on the issue, said Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
The party deputy president said this would ensure that those called to give evidence to the panel were satisfied.
“I would love to see the report as I was among the affected parties. If the report is not given to the witnesses, it will give rise to speculation,” he said yesterday before a briefing for Perak MCA members on party issues.
Dr Chua was asked to comment on a call by Puchong MCA division vice-chairman Datuk Theng Book that the MCA snoop squad case be reopened by the presidential council in the light of “new evidence”.
Theng was quoted as saying that he found three volumes of the MCA investigation panel report on the existence of a “three-man secret committee” dated June 10, 2008 placed in a box outside his office about two weeks ago.
Dr Chua said he had only learnt through press reports that former party president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting was not involved in the squad. Thru press reports ..... and you know the press , money can do wonders .
On another matter, Dr Chua said for the party’s sake, everyone should sit down and agree on a date for fresh party polls.
Urging vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai to be patient, Dr Chua stressed that no one was denying him the right to demand for fresh party polls.
“The only issue is the date,” he said. Asked whether he had tried to contact Liow on the matter, Dr Chua said: “I have not spoken to him directly but whether he has talked to the president I have no idea.”
In GEORGE TOWN, Liow said the call to reopen the snoop squad case was another attempt to smear his name. Smear his name ? If you have done nothing wrong , why should you be afraid ?
The issue, he added, had long been resolved during Ka Ting’s leadership. Ka Ting's leadership ? Isn't he involved also ? And the then disciplinary council all his yes man ?
An investigation was conducted and his name cleared, he added. Same story like the autopsy on Teoh Beng Hock , need to have a second autopsy . Porntip says homicde , the other say suicide .
“I think this is just plain politicking. There are lots of attempts against me,” he told reporters after meeting with party delegates from Penang at a restaurant yesterday. Aren't you involve in plain politicking with all your nonsense EGM2 ?
Also present were Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong and Wanita chief Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22, 2009) : MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat's action to remove dissident leaders aligned to vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek's decision to support fresh elections have prompted the speculation that Chua may join hands with Liow to fight Ong.
According to a report in Nanyang Siang Pau today, Liow's faction said it can cooperate with any faction but Chua's men said they are not prepared to work with Liow's faction any time now because of the problem of "credibility and integrity".
However, a member of Chua's camp was quoted as saying, "anything can happen in politics, and nobody can be sure of what is going to happen in future".
Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, who is aligned to Liow, told Nanyang: "We can work with anyone."
He said Liow's camp wants to resolve the impasse in the party through the holding of fresh elections.
"Fresh elections are not meant to topple any faction or to get rid of dissidents but to make MCA stable, and restore its credibility and integrity," he said.
Chua Soi Lek
Another senior leader from Liow's camp revealed that the faction had discussed the possibility of working with Chua and felt that the two factions can help stabilise the party.
The senior leader pointed out that Chua has greater grassroots support compared with Ong. Furthermore, Ong has caused dissatisfaction among the grassroots with the removal of leaders who did not share his views, he said.
However, he said the biggest worry of Liow's camp is Chua's morality issue.
"If we work Chua and make him the president, will the grassroots and the society accept him?" he asked, saying that the first one to object would be Wanita chief Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, a staunch support of Liow who has openly stated that she would resign should Chua become the president.
Meanwhile, Chua's camp said it will not work with any faction that lacks credibility and integrity.
"When we pushed for fresh elections to resolve the party infighting (at the extraordinary general meeting) on Oct 10, Liow objected even though the president said yes.
"Now they (Liow's men) want to hold fresh elections. It appears that they are after the No. 1 post."

He said the latest Save MCA Committee's disclosure on the party's three-man snoop squad does not bode well for Liow.
He said Chua stressed on credibility and integrity and since Liow's credibility and integrity are in doubts, it is hard for Chua to work with Liow.
On Saturday, Puchong division vice-chairman Datuk Theng Book said there was fresh evidence to show that the alleged "Three-Man Secret Committee", or snoop squad, existed and there were elements which corroborated with MCA veteran Wong Leong’s claims that Liow, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Wee Jeck Seng and former Gerakan Belia Bersatu chairman Tee An Chuan were members of the snoop squad.
Wong had previously alleged that the snoop squad was set up by former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting to oust his political enemies including Chua.

ReplyDeleteGUP being sanctioned by the CC should not be aborted. The credibility of the party is at stake. LTL, WKS and CMF were at the CC meeting which had deliberated the plan and has been accepted by the majority CCMs. How could the minority which included LTL, WKS and CMF be allowed to go against GUP. It is UNDEMOCRATIC. Do not set precedence as it will have serious implications and repercussions on the future party directions and objectives. It is also morally, politically and constitutionally WRONG. WHAT GOES ROUND WILL COME AROUND. MCA will be destroyed by this type of NEGATIVE CULTURE. Practising what I termed REVERSED DEMOCRACY should not be allowed.
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with GUP which has been inclusive to stabilize the party? Any Plan or Blue Print will need fine tuning and adjustment after implementation and the committee members appointed should give justifiable recommendations at this stage to improve the plan. How would it affect the morality and credibility of the majority CCMs who supported the GUP? Focus on implementing GUP first and when the party is really by all means go ahead with the re-election which should be conducted in accordance with the party constitution.
Can re-election at this time unite MCA? Be sincere. MCA needs cooling off period and GUP to stabilize the party first. We are human. Emotionally unstable and anger might affect our judgement.
MCA needs leaders who care for the party and not those with self vested interests. Respecting the hierarchical set up of the party will save MCA. Without this very basic disciplinary principle instilled in the members, any one who sit on the chair will fail as showing defiance inside and outside meetings will be the ill afford culture for the survival of the party.
If everyone could change their mindsets for the sake of the party, the small problem faced by the party created by the small minority should be solved easily. WE CAN ALTER THE IMPASSE OF THE PARTY BY ALTERING OUR ATTITUDES.

Hence, Brutes & Co. are now finding ways to have a safe landing with their ass covered and face masked to safe face to cancel EGM II by consulting a law firm.
Subsequently, they will by all means sell their souls to convince DPM BooBooDin to act in favour on their behalf.
I believe PM Najib is just doing the listen and listen and ONLY listen part of the job and pass all the dirty work to BooBooDin.
I strongly believe, even with fresh election, it wouldn't be a conclusive ending for MCA.

They are finding an excuse to get down from the tigers back .
If PM Najib say the EGM is canceled , they will not say PM asked them to cancel it . They will say their lawyers advised them that their EGM is not valid :) Which is highly expected that they will be asked to cancel their EGM .
If they at the very last minute thinks that they will not get the required quorum which again is highly the case , they will say their lawyers advised them that their EGM is not valid :)and hence their EGM is therefore canceled .

I am astonished that LTL, WKS and CMF are not familiar with the Society Act 1966. Any resolutions that breach the party constitution will not be accepted by the ROS for implementaion. They may face disciplinary or legal repercussion if they go on with the EGM.

The requisitionists will solely be held responsible for holding the unconstitutional EGM in defiant against the advice given by the secretary general of MCA. LTL is not a requisitionist, so he may escape the legal repercussion. Those found guilty or breach the party constitution for such serious offence shall be ban from holding any posts of a legally registered societies (Society Act 1966) for a specific number of years.

As Sdra Kalambong disclosed,the Chinese newspapers are mainly controlled by the "Rupert Murdog" of Malaysia, and he hates OTK more than anything else....
So we observe that the CDs (and the general readers from our community)are fed daily with bias reports. Media statements which attempt to explain for OTK's faction are played down and published in remote pages/corders of the newspapers....
As more than half of our CDs are not internet savvy, they don't have the opportunity to understand the stories from the other side...:
