| IPOH - MCA deputy president Dr Chua Soi Lek has appealed for patience from party vice-president Liow Tiong Lai over fixing the date for fresh party elections.
"We have all agreed that we should hold fresh party elections but the issue is the date. In my opinion, there's not much difference between holding it in January or March. What is more important is ensuring unity in the party...the internal crisis be resolved in the interests of MCA and Barisan Nasional," he told reporters before attending a meeting with Perak MCA members here Sunday. Chua said he had explained to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak at their meeting recently that many delegates would not be able to attend if the fresh polls are held next month. March is suitable time "There'll be problems too if it's held in January or February because of the Chinese New Year celebrations. So, we feel March is the most suitable time and earliest for fresh party polls to be held," he said. Chua also said that perhaps the time had come to close the chapter on the snoop squad in the party and instead hand the report on the matter to those concerned. "People like me are affected, so I would like to see the report. We were called as witnesses but the report was never given to us. This will give rise to speculations which unfortunately will happen. "Even dead people are exhumed for pathology report to create transparency, to make sure that people are satisfied with the findings and that is important," he added. In politics 24 hours is eternity. 6 months!! till March - CSL could have consolidated his positions by horse trading...... Comon - election by end of the year. Who says delegates can not attend. I heard the delegates loud and clear that they want it fast.

The reason is (1) GE is imminent from a very reliable sources (2) PM & DPM may want EGM1128 postpone to cater for GE (3) CSL chairs GUP has obtained very good response from the grassroot (4) MCA President Direct Election must reach to the grassroot (5) BIG MAKAN teams want Brutus Gang continue carry on to every corner in the country to proof EQUALITY OR FAIR , many members & MCA supporters asking when the big makan can come their place ?
ReplyDeleteFresh election should not be rushed. Emotion may cloud the delegates' choice of leadership. GUP being sanctioned by the CC with overwhelming CC's support should be implemented first to unite, heal and serve the party. When everything is in place, then go ahead with the fresh election if necessary.

Make sure the new mechanism for direct election be in place and accepted by all MCA members before the fresh election. Otherwise we see no change in MCA. This is democracy for MCA.

If these scumbags want to hold the EGM, let them do it. I think they will fall flat on their faces. The EGM will be a pr disaster for them. Call their bluff.

I agreed to anon 6:28 and the recent court decision ordering Election Committee (EC) to issue writ of by election of Kedah , Kota Siputeh seat on 25th , Tun Ma son , Mukhriz, prepare to stand the by-election from BN . If BN win, sure the GE is countable. Further the case of 3-People-Secret Team is just revealed and CSL must show his ability to handle this case too , t do take times for inquries. Thus after June 2010 for Fresh Party Election is the right time.

Senator Heng say tomorrow will have a meeting for party election discussion which is chaired by CSL due to President still in U.K. Should not GUP discussion cos CSL is the chair person. GUP like the Langkawi Education Project , must has a head to oversee it. CSL wants early election before March 2010 is still too fast because AGM is on 1205. Some Centre Delegates are working people and sure their boss not happy if to take leave again after 3 months. Hope tomorrow meeting should consider this point also. If the Direct President Election can be started after June 2010, this is sure MCA's DEMOCRACY prevails and sure could receive warm welcome by the members and grassroots. And hope do have big makan like now.

According to MalaysianMirror (Chinese section), their candidates for No.1 post are :
(1) ONG KA TING (ready);
(2) Fong Chan Onn (still persuading)....
Why Ka Ting is not good enough? Because he sure won;t get support from CSL's men!
So they are trying to bring in Mr. Nice Guy, Dr. Fong, who last time protested against the dismissal/suspension of CSL by OTK/PC/CC.
I hope CSL can "counter-persuade" Dr. Fong to reject LTL's proposal. Why burden your heart when you are already retired?

ReplyDeleteMCA needs a comprehensive plan for healing to unite the party. Thus I still feel that GUP is very much needed right now. Teething problems are to be expected at the initial implementation stages. Fine tuning along the way. If everyone is sincere GUP is the magic wand the party needed.
Can LTL give reasons why GUP should be aborted. He has been saying GUP is a failure but he needs to substantiate his argument.
Fresh election should wait until the party is stabilized and when all the ill feelings generated since the last EGM subsided. Too much negative energy now to have an election. It is a zero sum game. We need to be pragmatic, sincere and down to earth.

Fong Chan Onn will be a disaster for MCA. He may be a scholar and all that. He may be a gentleman and that is good. But in time of war you do not put acholar in charge. You want a general. A man of action and dare to take action.

Seems MCA is made up of good people but no clue of politics and leadership or gangsters who want power and no idea of politics and leadership.
That is exactly what I mean.

Fong fits the profile perfectly.
OTK is the opposite. He is not the type who listen. He is the type who do things.
That is precisely why arm no wants OTK out, and precisely why they want Fong in !
This is not the time for gentleman, for good behavior, for courtesy.
We must think of ourselves first.
We, the Chinese.
If not, why have MCA in the first place???

Not as good as the original, yes, I read that too, but will be sufficient for those who have difficulties reading Chinese text.
The book was published back in the 1990's, early 90's.
My view of the personality of person who want to lead MCA into the future. MCA is at its worst moment in its history. It need a special person to take it out of its pit.

You can see this character in Alexander the Great and Ghengkis Khan.
