Saya Mau Lari , You pun Mau Lompat Kapal Juga ?

PostHeaderIcon MANY PKR REPS TO JUMP SHIP , SAYS EX-MEMBER

A significant number of PKR elected representatives have expressed their wish to leave the party, former PKR Youth executive council member Zamil Ibrahim said.

Zamil said he had received numerous calls from the representatives who had expressed concerns over their political future and their party’s survival.

“They are worried about two things – (party adviser) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy trial, and favouritism in the party,” he said.

Zamil said those who had fallen out of favour risk losing appointed and even elected posts.

“Many who are not on the list of favourites may not be nominated to contest in the next general election,” he said.

Zamil claimed that the number of MPs willing to cross over would be enough to give Barisan Nasional a two-thirds majority in Parliament.

Zamil said many representatives were worried about developments in Penanti, Bukit Selambau, Port Klang and Lunas.

Former Penanti assemblyman Muhammad Fairus Khairuddin and former Bukit Selambau assemblyman V. Arumugam were forced to quit their seats to pave the way for by-elections, he said.

Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah and Lunas assemblyman Mohd Radzhi Salleh quit PKR following fears that they would also be forced to vacate the seats.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali, meanwhile, said monetary offers were being made to induce elected representatives to jump ship.

The party that is willing to “buy” is usually the ruling party (Barisan Nasional) he claimed.

“It has happened before and it is still happening,” he told a press conference yesterday.

  4. MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and his deputy Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek agreed that the resolutions of an upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) were unconstitutional.

The Deputy President said they acknowledged the rights of members to hold the EGM but any resolutions which are against the party constitution cannot be implemented.

Yes, resolutions which do not conform with the party constitution cannot be implemented. The requisitionists cannot proceed with the UNCONSTITUTIONAL EGM WITH UNCONSTITUTIONAL RESOLUTIONS. They are organising an illegal assembly. Thus CDs are advised not to attend to avoid legal implications or disciplinary actions.

  5. justice4otk,

Did anyone propose to sack the three wild monkeys, sack them to close the chapter and move on with the GUP.

Mark my words it will never end with the three with monkeys around.............

The briefing is on the GUP , they have to explain to the DiV Chm , Div Dep Chm , youth and wanita chm and the Sec . ( five per div ) .
Nothing on sacking , this is a briefing , not a EGM or a AGM . The AGM is on 5th Dec.

  8. Dear All

More than 20 divisions did not attend the GUP briefing ie about 19 %. So that;s the strength of LTL/OKT support base. Why then are they so confident of winning in a fresh polls ?

Apart from the ex-legal bureau chief, they have a few lawyers and I am sure they know that the requisition for the 2nd EGM is full of irregularities and yet they are going ahead with it.
Just admit it and say sorry, is it very difficult? It is a very noble and honourable gesture which will be appreciated.

"...More than 20 divisions did not attend the GUP briefing ie about 19 %"

Where di you get the figures?

    The Star Online reported this:

"More than 80% of the MCA divisions sent representatives to the closed-door briefing on the greater unity plan, said party deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek. He said 620 leaders from 155 of the 191 divisions were present...."

    Which is correct?

The Star stated that 36 divisions didn't send repts. That's 18.3% only.

By this attendance rate, we can safely conclude that LTL's EGM2 will be aborted for lack of 1/3 quorum on 28 Nov..

I think "fresh polls" is a separate matter. Though by the strength of the combined forces of OTK-CSL, LTL's team menu or "cai dan" can be defeated easily, there are many other "hidden factors" that we do not know, that may affect the outcome of the election results....

Further, who dare to predict which candidates can win when, for eg., "some" candidates may be barred from contesting at the last minutes???

So, we prefer to have no party re-elections until amendments to the party Constitution are proposed and approved by the AGM/EGM and ROS. One of the amendments is to have direct voting for the Presidency....

  15. Bro' Xie-An,

I think the President had FOREWARNED all those FGZs already.

May be the leadership will wait until 28 Nov when the EGM2 is aborted, so that those members who were misled would close ranks and return to support the GUP.

For those who remain recalcitrant/keras kepala/stubborn/defiant..., they may face the AXE.

The party needs to kill only ONE PERSON to deter the rest. And this can be done thru ther 5 Dec AGM--by asking 2/3 delegates to sack members who no longer subscribe to the party objectives, under the (in)famous Aericle 35:

"Article 35 provides that the General Assembly may dismiss any Party Official if approved by at least two-third of the delegates to the General Assembly present and voting at the meeting of the General Assembly."

This can be done if the leadership wish to....But ample time will still be given to the lambs who are lost in the jungle of politics....

Please don't blame the leadership if it is forced to go to this EXTENT. Patience in running thin....

  16. LTL said “We do not want the EGM to be ridiculed and twisted, and the democracy in MCA to be manipulated. We want our leaders to respect the EGM because it is the salient views of party members, who are witnessing the MCA conflict that resulted from an act of disrespect of the EGM decisions by two leaders,”

    Anyone understand what he says?
As I said before, he says but does not know what he says. He looks but doesn't what to see. He listens but does not know what to hear.
Pitiful. Instead of attending GUP briefing he officiated a campaign encouraging pupils to wear helmet which had nothing to do with the Health Ministry.

  17. Correect.Correct.Correct.

Liow still insisted that his 1128 EGM2 is constitutional and continued to bluff the people of Malaysia.

I was surprised that Berita Harian Online runs his statement like this:

"EGM 28 November sah, ikut perlembagaan MCA: Liow

I wonder if this Liow Brutus, Wee Wee Pig and Fried Noodle know that democracy is who has the majority and not what they think is right. The wish of the majority overrides the wish of a few.

The few can keep quiet or go and jump into the sea.

What has CSL's son CTY sitting in front got to do with you? Not all MCA politicians are pariah. You are the pariah because you don't even have the nerve or the slightest audacity to delve into politics. You are only good at sitting on the fence and bark. In fact you are not even worth your bark. For your informatiion, NYY had vouched that CSL had objected when CTY was nominated as CC member by OTK. What more have you to say?
