More troubles for Soi Lek and MCA, Liow starts sniffng around

Wong Choon Mei, Malaysia Chronicle

WITH VIDEOS It looks like MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai is starting to buckle to pressure from Umno and Perkasa over row about the 30 percent Bumiputera equity target. Either that or he is starting to position himself to go one up on his boss Chua Soi Lek, who has borne the brunt of the Malay onslaught so far.

In the Chinese community, Liow – the Health Minister – is often called ‘fan kuat chai’ or double-crosser for his role in demanding the resignation of previous president Ong Tee Keat.

“Can a leopard change its spots? This is the problem with MCA in particular and society in general. There are too many people willing to go to all sorts of lengths just to gain power and wealth,” an MCA watcher told Malaysia Chronicle.

Same or different

Liow raised eyebrows when he said a day ago that whatever stand the MCA took, it would be different from the DAP’s, whereas Soi Lek earlier in the week had said MCA would not fear to share DAP's views if they benefited the community..

“It is not the same with DAP. DAP is different. We are different. It is never the same. We are voicing out in the spirit of BN but not DAP," NST quoted Liow as saying on Wednesday.

Said Soi Lek in a press statement on Monday: “The new MCA leadership strongly believes that its political struggle is totally reasonable and legal. MCA will not be afraid of sharing similar views with DAP in terms of the benefit of the community nor choose to run away from making a stand.”

Indeed, the hapless Soi Lek has been left reeling from the twin attacks from Perkasa and Umno's deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin.

On Wednesday, Perkasa lodged a police report against Soi Lek. But perhaps reminded by Umno that MCA was still BN's main source of Chinese votes, the ultra-Malays rights group made sure to announce that the complaint was against the MCA president and not against the party.

“Whoever who questions Malay rights will have actions taken against that person,” Perkasa secretary-general Syed Hassan Syed Ali was reported as saying.

The real root causes - racism and corruption

The brouhaha began last Saturday after Soi Lek proposed at an economic congress attended by both Prime Minister Najib Razak and his brother Nazir a gradual reduction of the 30 per cent Bumiputera quota to foster greater competition and resilience in the economy.

“MCA recognizes the noble objective of the NEP which was to eradicate poverty regardless of ethnic background. However, in echoing the words of CIMB Group CEO Datuk Nazir Razak where he said that the NEP’s ‘implementation has been hijacked by self-interest groups’, these weaknesses have to be rectified,” another MCA leader, Chor Chee Heung, had defended.

But while Soi Lek and MCA may have got their facts rights, they chose the wrong tack to regain Chinese popularity. Not only did it create a media circus with starring roles played by Umno and Perkasa, it failed to really excite the Chinese who viewed the ensuing crossfire with a mixture of cynicism and amusement.

Pundits say that after 53 years of failed nation-building by the BN, the Chinese community has decided that the two greatest evils in their country were now racism and corruption.

“This is why Soi Lek has failed to ignite support whether from the ordinary Chinese people or the business groups. Just go to any coffee shop and ask around, the first response is sandiwara. Then the more serious reply – you cannot fight racism with racism,” the MCA watcher said.

“So it looks like Soi Lek has failed and because of this he may be on the way down in MCA. If he wants to stay in charge, he has to pull the party out from BN, but for that to happen, then a leopard would really have to change its spots. May be that’s why Liow has already started sniffing around.”

The latest Merdeka opinion poll released earlier this week also showed only 9 percent of the Chinese electorate liked of supported Soi Lek.

Liow : I better resign

I found this interesting comment by Liow during his interview with the Sun , here in this article .
Party comes first

Chew Mei Fun seems to be resigning her post of Wanita Chief when she cried she could not accept Dr Chua who was tainted as the president .

Exerpt from the article :

So what other tricks have you left in your bag? You’ve sent the undated resignation letters, you’ve tried talking, you’ve tried consolidating the party, you’ve talked to Soi Lek, but is Soi Lek acceptable to the party?

It’s not that I cannot accept him. A lot of party members cannot accept him – even my 13 CC members cannot accept him because that will further tarnish the party image. I’ve been talking so much about the party’s interest so if I support Soi Lek to become the president, I will be the man who will be accused by the members of not caring about the party but about himself. I’ve told you I have no personal problem with anybody. I can work with him but how do I face the members? Even now because Tee Keat is working with Soi Lek, people are scolding so much. Why go and bring him back when people are scolding him so much? And now, he’s deputy. If I’m supposed to work with him and he becomes president (laughs) I better resign.

Good Riddance and Bye , Bye , Liow , Liow lah !

Liow’s No 2 bid is for party renewal, says ally

By Adib Zalkapli

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — MCA Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong described his ally Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai’s decision to contest for party’s No 2 as the chance for the party to renew itself.

Liow, the former vice-president who was briefly deputy president in a festering party crisis, threw in his hat for the post in the March 28 election.

“You talk about regeneration, you want younger leaders, this is the time, this is where you can get a batch of younger leaders to be given a chance to run the party,” said Wee, who with Liow, had rebelled against Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat’s leadership.

“It is a learning process and I am glad to see many young capable leaders coming forward offering themselves to contest be it as deputy president or the CC post,” he added.

The 49-year-old health minister is up against another party vice-president Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, 60, who announced his candidacy yesterday.

Wee however said he would let the party’s Youth leaders to vote freely.

Ditched by Liow

The master Brutus first its Tee Keat , now its Chua Soi Lek . Never trust a vegetarian .

A FALLOUT between Dr Chua Soi Lek and Liow Tiong Lai's faction seems to be taking shape with a few days more to go till the March 22 nomination day for MCA's fresh party polls.

The "cracks" had started to appear since last week after some 30 divisions made appeals to former president Ong Ka Ting to make a comeback to put the party in perspective.

The signs became more evident on Tuesday when Ka Ting announced his decision to offer himself as a presidential candidate in the party polls scheduled on March 28.

The initial pact between the Chua-Liow group was apparent when both sides handed over their resignation letters less than 72 hours before delegates were due to assemble for the party's annual party conference on March 7.

With their resignations, it paved the way for fresh elections of the central committee.

To finish off Soi Lek

Party insiders said that Liow was likely to abandon Chua and team up with his former boss whom he was allegedly involved in a snoop squad to spy on Chua during Ka Ting's tenure as party president.

A party insider felt that Ka Ting has some unfinished business and intend to finish off Chua once and for all this time by contesting for the president's post.

They said Chua being a seasoned politician is beginning to see a clearer picture of the political equation in the run up to the fresh polls.

The shift in allegiance from Liow's faction to Ka Ting's group would be obvious. It is only a matter of time when the lines of allegiance are drawn.

Liow's other supporters which include former central committee (CC) members Wee Jeck Seng, Dr Hou Kok Chung, Wong Nai Chee are known to be hardcore Ka Ting supporters and would obviously switch alliances to their former boss.

The insider said Ka Ting's elder brother Ka Chuan will stay out for the top posts in the elections and would campaign alongside his younger sibling to give him that much needed help.
Ka Chuan would most likely be rewarded with a secretary-general's post if his brother were to win.

Another clear sign leading towards the Ong brothers-Liow pact was the backing for Ka Ting by the Bentong division whose chairman Hoh Khai Mun is closely linked to Liow.

Both Chua and Tee Keat may however inherit some "backlash" votes from supporters of Liow who may not be happy over Ka Ting making a comeback after lying low all these while.

Lone ranger now

With Liow's faction switching alliances, it appears that Chua may be left standing alone without a running mate in his quest to unseat incumbent president Ong Tee Keat. But talk is that Kong Cho Ha who commands quite a sizable support in his Perak home base which has 326 central delegates may want to contest the deputy president's post and was open to forming strategic alliances.

Given such a scenario, with the announcement of Tee Keat defending his post, all eyes are now on Chua whether he would defend his deputy president's post or join in the fray for a three-cornered fight for the top post.

A central delegate said the best bet for Chua now was to team up with Tee Keat again and defend his deputy president's post by pulling together their supporters. Both leaders should let bygones be bygones and work towards a born again MCA, he said.

ong-chua-ong-mcaHe said both Tee Keat and Chua could perhaps work out a succession plan with a time frame in place to groom future leaders to take over the helm.

In that way, come March 28, delegates can have a better inkling of what to expect of the party's future and reform agenda thus help them to be decisive in making the right choice at the ballot boxes.

Another party insider said Chua, although has come thus far, should perhaps abandon his plan to go for the No 1 post and restrategise and throw his support for Tee Keat.

Chua must take into consideration that Ka Ting would have made some calculations and would have been confident of garnering enough votes to win before deciding to offer himself for the presidency.

The insider said that Chua must also bear in mind that the 900 votes being bandied about regarding his support base might have "dissipated".

It must be noted that the figure was concocted by the media based on the number of delegate signatures he received and submitted to the party to force an extraordinary general meeting last October.

The signatures could not be construed as an outright support for him but rather an endorsement for an extraordinary general meeting.

It cannot be certain that those signatures would translate to actual votes in the ballot boxes.

Teaming up with Tee Keat again?

A safe bet for Chua would be to strike a deal with Tee Keat. A combined support of the two senior leaders would be a mighty force to be reckoned with by their foes.

A central delegate said he did not mind voting for Tee Keat and Chua for the No 1 and No 2 posts respectively if they could come to a compromise and work together for the better good of the party.

He said based on the 603 delegates who turned up at the AGM on March 7, the incumbent president enjoys a solid 600 votes.

This was despite calls made by Tee Keat's detractors to delegates that they should stay away from the AGM, claiming that it was illegal.

There could be more who had been deceived or confused by the whole episode that they had stayed away as one central delegate puts it.

The actual support for Tee Keat could be much more, said the delegate. "Many could be like me who did not turn up because they had other commitments and that there was no urgency in attending as no elections was being held," he said.

He however said that he will be at the March 28 elections to cast his vote for the sake of integrity, transparency and accountability.

The Man Behind Liow Tiong Lai.

Ironically people who go for the kill always does it best by posturing that he is coming to the rescue...

I have always respected Ong Ka Ting until I discovered a cold calculated leader in him that is totally devoid of emotions. Someone reasoned that he is cold and unsympathetic towards others as he was bullied as a child as a result of family poverty and circumstantial.

As such he lacks compassion for victims of circumstances and am unsympathetic to victims as he has been in similar situations or worst and he did not received the timely compassion or sympathies needed.

Therefore he is the product of a social vicious circle if he is indeed cold and calculated as alleged. No one would believe or perceive the 'Mr.Hyde' in him until you have encountered the darker side of him.

For the students of art of warfare, the recent Mca debacles were ideal models of the art of war at its best. The ultimate beneficiary is the Ong Brothers again and the losers is Mca again.

Here is the scenario of a very polished and articulated plan executed by a master strategist.

Ka Ting had executed a perfect plan to place his brother Ong Ka Chuan to be the Minister in the Federal Cabinet. Had the election results of 308 been favorable, the Ong Brothers will make history by being the first brothers in cabinet.

Both the Ong Brothers will be 50% or consist of half the MCA ministers in the Federal Cabinet. That would have been a dream come true for the brothers from Lenggong, a remote new village in northern Perak.

Unfortunately the 308 election results was one of Mca's worst election results and thus Ka Ting decided to pass the baton to his elder brother Ong Ka Chuan. In the process of grooming his elder brother to be the next Minister Ka Ting had first identified the rules and regulations to eliminate the existing Cabinet Ministers then.

Fong Chan Onn the Human Resource Minister will be eliminated for having served two terms as a Minister. Chua Soi Lek the Health Minister was eliminated by a video shooting star. Chan Kong 'Choy will self detonate and run away to Australia for being mysteriously 'sick' but yet attempted to lobby to stand again during the last general election.

To cut a long story short, Ka Ting chaired his last Central Committee meeting and had attempted to control the party assets worth billions by proposing a 'Trust Committee' to administer the party's assets but it was short down by the Central Committee who smelled a fish somewhere.

The properly executed plan of depriving the two Vice President Ong Tee Keat and Donald Lim of a State Liaison Chairman was strictly to cut the wings of these two up and coming politicians who were then the potential Ministers in waiting.

But Ka Ting was reserving and planning the next Mca Minister to be none other than his appointed Secretary General Ong Ka Chuan who happens to be his elder brother despite the fact that he had lost and faired badly in the 2004 election when he stood against Fong Po Kuan.

He had forced Loke Yuen Yow to vacate the Tanjung Malim parliamentary seat to his elder brother as it was deem to be a safe seat. Ka Chuan cannot afford to lose this time as he had lost his to Poh Kuan in Batu Gajah in the 2004 election. He is the only State Liaison Chairman who had lost and yet rewarded with the powerful party position of Secretary General by his younger brother. Thus Ka Ting had seek a safe seat and a safe path for his elder brother.

Under Ka Ting, there is no room for dissent as he has an iron grip over the party after been an apprentice to Tun Ling Liong Sik and muscling in the party for more than two decades.

Further he has the intimidating rough high handed help of Chan Kong Choy to execute his dirty moves. No one dare to go against the combined forces of the notorious Chan Kong Choy and the insidious Ong Ka Ting then.

Ka Ting had been alleged to be responsible for the infamous Three Men Killer squad purportedly consisting of Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Jeck Seng (his political secretary) and Tee Ann Chuan (an ex-convict given a special waiting room in Liow's ministry then). He had skillfully set up an inquiry to close the allegations of which the results of the inquiry had yet been allowed to see the light of day.

And now the man had carefully staged a comeback with the help of the powerful Chinese media who had been seen to be an active party to oust duly elected President Ong Tee Keat in a carefully calculated executed plan since the lost of his elder brother Ong Ka Chuan to his nemesis Chua Soi Lek.....

MCA Crisis: Chua Soi Lek and Liow Tiong Lai are UMNO's Chinese Lap Dogs Posted by Malaysian Unplug

Read here for more and here

The leaders of the party's two key factions - deputy president Dr Chua Soi Lek and vice-president Liow Tiong Lai - said i that they will not be attending the meeting.

The boycott by Chua and Liow came hot in the heels of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's decision to give the AGM a miss.

This leaves this Sunday's AGM to be a meeting of delegates aligned to embattled party president Ong.

Last night, Najib's press aide Tengku Sharifuddin Tengku Ahmad confirmed that the prime minister will not officially launch the controversial AGM, which is to kick off on Sunday morning at the MCA headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Najib's decision is the clearest indication yet that party chief Ong has lost the support of the Umno president.

In an apparent bit to crank up the pressure on MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, the party’s Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong today blasted the decision to continue with tomorrow’s AGM, deeming it illegal.

Wee, in his boycott bid, had already succeeded in tainting his wing’s AGM this morning when the meeting couldn’t be held because the quorum was not met and said he would continue his offensive by abandoning tomorrow’s meet.

He also said the Wanita wing, which survived humiliation in its AGM after 350 delegates turned up, will not be attending Sunday’s AGM as well.

The wing is led by Wee’s ally, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun who deserted today’s assembly together with her supporters.

Lets recall what Soi Lek tells Tiong Lai

Don’t make me your scapegoat, Soi Lek tells Tiong Lai

By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 – MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek (pic, left) today warned Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic, right) not to make him (Dr Chua) the scapegoat for his (Liow’s) own failure to get the remaining central committee (CC) members to resign.

Dr Chua dared Liow to hold an EGM if he was confident that the party members would support a fresh election.

“If he wants to go for an EGM to call for a fresh poll, by all means, he can do it. I called an EGM to restore my own self and to pass a vote of no-confidence against the president but I never made so much noise and I never gave any excuses.

“I also said that when I want to resign, I will resign, at my own timetable and not at the timetable laid down by Liow.

“And if Liow is so confident that everybody wants fresh polls, then, by all means, do it. If you are so confident of getting support from people, why are you always pushing it to Chua Soi Lek? Why are you not pushing it to Ong Tee Keat?

“Please do not make me the scapegoat for your inability to get 21 central delegates to resign,” was the message he wanted reporters at MCA headquarters here to convey to Liow.

Dr Chua recently announced that only 13 central committee members had resigned, eight short of the 21 needed to pave way for fresh polls as stipulated by the party constitution but revealed that the remaining CC members were expected to resign after the Chinese New Year.

Under the party’s constitution, a fresh poll must be held within 30 days if 21 of the 31 elected central committee members resigned.

The problem with Liow, according to Dr Chua, was that he was arrogant and expected everybody to follow his roadmap.

“You see the problem with Liow Tiong Lai is that he behaves like he is the president of MCA. Whatever he says, all of us must follow.

“When he met me, I told him very frankly that, politics being politics, if you say ‘do something’, then people who do not support you will do a different thing. And we do not have to follow the roadmap laid down by Liow Tiong Lai,” he said.

Liow yesterday urged Dr Chua to resign because he believed that this would speed up the election process because the deputy president’s supporters would follow suit.

Liow: AGM resolutions are only proposals

Only proposals ? who are you trying to kid ?

Then it should be worded as such " We propose that the following issues a, b, c , d be discussed by this assembly and be adopted if this assembly deems it appropriate .

But what you jokers wrote were not proposals but resolutions !

No wonder the Health Ministry has always been referred to as the Hell Ministry and the Minister as the Minister of Hell ! Controlled by the Devil !
Vegetarians be becareful , it has been said that vegetarians are easily influenced by the Great Satan .

Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai will not stop his supporters from submitting 'proposals' at the MCA AGM. - Picture by Jack Ooi

By Clara Chooi

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai today ignored the advice from a fellow party leader urging his faction to withdraw the resolutions submitted for the party’s March 7 annual general meeting.

Liow explained that the resolutions were merely proposals for discussion during the AGM, in which every delegate had the right to submit.

Liow added that the fact that they were mere proposals, the resolutions should be allowed to be discussed during the meeting and were definitely not unconstitutional as claimed by the leader.

The leader, central committee member Datuk Ti Lian Ker had advised Liow’s faction yesterday to withdraw their proposed resolutions for the AGM which, among others, called for the dissolution of the CC for the purpose of fresh polls. In addition, they have also called for an amendment to the party constitution to open up the duty of appointing and sacking of executive office-bearers which is presently handled by the president.

Ti had claimed that the resolutions were unconstitutional as they had contravened Article 168 of the constitution which stipulates that resolutions to amend the constitution needed prior referrals from the respective divisions and the CC.

Liow's team wants AGM to vote for fresh polls

Kuek Ser Kuang Keng
Feb 23, 10

Let's analyse what these chipmunks are saying !

MCA vice-president Liow Tiong Lai's faction is attempting to force a vote during the upcoming national annual general meeting (AGM) on whether fresh polls should be held for the party's central committee.

NONELiow's (left) faction today submitted four proposed resolutions for the AGM to the party headquarters, the first of which seeks the endorsement of the delegates to force fresh polls.

Liow's faction has been trying to force fresh polls after delegates passed a no-confidence vote against party president Ong Tee Keat during the Oct 10, 2009 extraordinary general meeting.

This is their latest attempt to force a fresh election after many months of futile attempts to convince the central committee to resign en masse.

How about a resolution by the central delegates to remove all those trouble makers ? Not just disciplinary action but sacking them from MCA ?

Clipping the president's wings

Meanwhile, the remaining three proposed resolutions are aimed at changing the party rules to clip the president's powers.

The second proposed resolution calls on the party leadership to establish a Central Board of Trustees to ensure transparency and professionalism in the management of party assets. This is the main issue which was proposed by Ka Ting who wants to control All the MCA assets and making the Party penniless . Remember what was mentioned here previously that he wanted to sell of the Star to the Tiong fella from Sinchew who does not have a English publication ? should he control the MCA assets ! and the fact that Star has $800 million cash reserves !

The third proposed resolution aims to limit the president's powers in appointing the presidential council and make compulsory the appointment of all four elected vice-presidents, youth chief, women's wing chief, all Cabinet members and deputy ministers, to the council.

They should have proposed this when Ling was the President or when Ka Ting was the president , they would know what they will get , A BOOT !

The final proposed resolution seeks the amendment of the party constitution to curb the presidential powers in sacking the secretary-general, treasurer, organising secretary and their deputies.

Sec-gen has final say

The last three resolutions are seen as a reaction to recent events which saw Ong removing Liow's supporters from various key party posts.

NONEAmong the most controversial removals were of youth wing chief monkey Wee Ka Siong (right) and women's wing chief cry baby Chew Mei Fun from the presidential council.

Liow's faction still faces a potential snag with the proposed resolutions because it is subject to approval by secretary-general Wong Foon Meng who is a staunch support of Ong.

"That is why we want to make the resolutions public. Now the ball is in the secretary-general's court," said Wong Nai Chee, a central committee member aligned to Liow's.

No place for recalcitrant leaders

Joshua Teng
Tuesday, 09 February 2010 17:14

OPINION When signs of calm waters in MCA seem to be in sight, there appears to be another round of attempt to trigger off unrest and chaos in the party again.

Certain leaders may not appreciate if the dust has settled down and prefer to kick up a sandstorm of sorts instead of respecting the wishes of the majority who want to enjoy the peace and quiet in the party.

There are also leaders who like to sulk and repeatedly sing the same tune to call for fresh party elections, even though the next party polls is just next year.

The latest is an immature call made by the MCA Integrity Restoring Taskforce (MIRT) to boycott party functions and events organised by the current leadership led by party president Ong Tee Keat until fresh party polls is held.

On Feb 2, MCA vice-president Liow Tiong Lai who heads the MIRT called for a boycott on all party functions and events until the party leadership comes up with a timetable on the party elections.

Liow has crossed the line

To quote him: "We will call off the boycott immediately if only there is a fresh election."

Anyone reading such a statement will surely sense an element of threat and perceive the call as an act of sabotaging party activities, a party central delegate noted.

The delegate said Liow had crossed the line this time. Instead of initiating efforts to close ranks and consolidating the party, he had instead embarked on a quest to turn the party topsy-turvy.

Liow should not drag the party down by rallying a boycott on party activities to satisfy his own selfish agenda.

"A leader who wants to see the failure of his own party's activities is not worthy of support from the ranks," the delegate said.

"As a delegate, we do not condone acts of boycotting party activities or events which tantamount to a sabotage," he said.

Liow's action of calling for a boycott smacks of arrogance which could undermine the party, can be construed as a threat to the leadership and is an act of sabotage. The delegate said these factors were enough to refer Liow to the disciplinary committee.

mca-ong-liow-2Another delegate said it was most amusing that Liow after announcing a boycott on party activities almost a week ago had suddenly realised that he had not used the word "boycott" and issued a denial that he did not utter those words.

Why then, the delegate pointed out that Liow's very own website featured a Bernama story with the heading "Boycott will not be reviewed, Says Liow".

The report on his website also quoted Liow as saying that the boycott, which include the upcoming MCA Chinese New Year Open House, would serve as a message to the party leadership that the situation was serious and warranted immediate action.

The delegate said Liow owes the members an explanation for his inconsistencies in his statement.

"Leaders with integrity should be truthful, sincere and consistent in whatever they do. They should not say one thing and contradict themselves later," he said.

Within one week, Liow had also changed his stand by saying that he would now attend party activities so long as it is for the good of the party and the events are not organised by the two top leaders.

The delegate said the change in stand was probably not by choice but because Liow had failed to garner enough support to boycott party activities and events.

"Liow had also received a barrage of criticisms from party leaders and grassroots, a backlash from his announcement which did not go down well with the masses," he said.

He said most party members find Liow's action similar to steering a ship which already has a hole in its hull towards a collision course with a boulder.

"Instead of rallying to get everyone to help plug the hole to prevent the ship from sinking, Liow appears to be sinking the ship deliberately to drag everyone down," he said.

The delegate said Liow and his cronies had been persistently pushing for fresh elections now for fear that direct elections would be introduced eventually.

They are afraid that they would not be able to muster enough support to woo about 30,000 central delegates instead of the current 2,400 delegates if direct elections are held.

The 13-member MIRT task force which includes Youth chief Wee Ka Siong and Wanita Chief Chew Mei Fun should clearly state their stand whether they endorse the move to boycott party activities.

By keeping mum, they are obviously in the same boat as Liow.

Stop the infighting

And since Liow appears to be suffering from some form of lapse in memory based on his inconsistent boycott statement, he should be reminded of what he had said regarding the call for fresh polls.

When asked in December last year what happens if the 21 resignations required to trigger a fresh election could not be fulfilled by the Dec 25 deadline, Liow had said that the 13 resignations who submitted their undated letters would be considered invalid.

Then what the heck is Liow doing now! He should come to his senses and accept and respect the decision that no more central committee members would be resigning.

But since he is so obsessed with holding elections, he should perhaps step down as Health Minister and seek a job in the Election Commission.

If not, he should stop the infighting, get on with the reform agenda of the party, accept the olive branch extended by party president Ong Tee Keat and get on with work.

There is no place for recalcitrant leaders.

Misquoted ? Never said he would boycott MCA's functions ?

Aiyoh , yoh ! I put tak tau ape nak cakap !

A few days after the "boycott" announcement, Liow held a press conference to say that there would not be any review of the boycott.
And the amazing thing is that when he was asked whether he would boycott the CNY open house, he said wait and see. what the hell man? macam perempuan sahaja...

Liow clarifies ‘boycott’

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 – Renegade MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic) clarified today he had never said he would boycott MCA’s functions but only stay away from the “individual functions” of party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

He claimed that he was misquoted by the media on the matter.

“When I announced it, I did not say that it’s a boycott, but that we will not participate in programmes organised by the two leaders (Ong and Dr Chua).

“I was misquoted and the thing had gone round and round and out of context,” he told reporters here.

Liow, who is the health minister, had come under fire in the party after having reportedly declared at a news conference last week that his faction would boycott the party’s functions.

This decision of Liow’s faction to stay away from Ong’s and Dr Chua’s functions came in response to the decision of the Central Committee (CC) meeting on Jan 29 that fresh polls could not be held as there was not enough quorum.

The party’s constitution requires that two-thirds (21 members) of the 31 elected CC members must resign in order for fresh polls to be held but, so far, only Liow and 12 others have tendered their conditional resignations.

When asked whether his faction would attend the party’s Chinese New Year celebration next Sunday, Liow said: “We’ll see”. – Bernama

Put houses in order now, DPM warns BN parties

Did you ask Liow and gang to keep on creating problems for MCA ?

Easy way out , just ask Liow and gang to shut up and follow GUP !

What problem ? MCA problem today is the 13 junkies or monkeys whichever you prefer !

Better still ask them to get lost or out of the house and don't come back !

And before you ask MCA to put their house in order , better put your own house in order ! People who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones at other people's houses !

Ask your fat ass Deputy Minister to behave like a man and not like a Zombie in piggy land .

Muhyiddin: Take immediate steps to solve internal problems. — file pic

ALOR SETAR, Feb 6 — Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today directed all Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties to take immediate steps to resolve problems in their respective parties.

Muhyiddin said BN does not want problems involving its component parties to have a negative impact and affect the support for BN.

He said leaders of the respective parties must try to resolve their problems to enable BN to restore the support of the people.

“Although the problems in component parties has not affected the administration of the BN-led government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, it will certainly ease the process of trying to restore the support of the people,” he told reporters after opening the Kedah Juara Rakyat programme here today.

He added that MCA must also take immediate steps to solve its problems so as to revive the confidence of the Chinese community in the country.

Muhyiddin said two component parties, namely MCA and PPP, who faced internal crisis throughout last year, were asked to take remedial action quickly.

He added that the Juara Rakyat programme was to show the people that BN was a party that really worked for the people and aimed at going to the ground to try and solve problems of the people, not only Malays but all races.

Muhyiddin said the people in a number of states had given their mandate to the opposition to administer their states but they can now evaluate which party had really worked for the people.

“The people who were convinced by the opposition’s accusations and allegations, are now able to see their true colours when given an opportunity to administer,” he said.

The deputy prime minister said the people can see for themselves that the PAS-led Kedah state government had failed to solve the problems of the people and Penang is another state suffering a similar fate.

“This shows the true intentions of the opposition while the truth has been exposed in their administration,” he said.

The people must therefore return to BN because only BN can continuously assist the people and solve their problems, he said. — Bernama

MCA: Let's move on

Forget about the unlucky 13

Friday, 05 February 2010 11:56

"Liow's faction will boycott all activities organised by the Ong-Chua leadership" - screamed the headline in a printed media.

A simple guy like me is fed up with this gang of clueless bozos attempting to steer MCA right over the cliff. But someone has to speak up.

I hardly recognize MCA anymore. The central committee has categorically decided that there is to be no fresh elections as only 13 elected CC members had quit to date, eight short of the 21 required to trigger polls. Even then, these resignations are undated and conditional.

mca-liow-tiong-laiAnd now these rebels demand a free pass to ignore the MCA Constitution and insist that the party calls for fresh polls. This is ludicrous and an outrage!

I am going to speak up. It's my patriotic duty. Hey, MCA, wake up. These guys were elected to work for us.

How did we end up with this crowd in the CC? Well, we voted for them or at least some of us did.

But I'll tell you what we didn't do.

We didn't agree to suspend the constitution. We didn't agree to stop asking questions or demanding answers.

MCA is not a party of factions.

We're a people. We share common principles and ideas. And we rise and fall together.

Like it or not, this faction is going to be around until October 2011. Maybe we can learn something before we go to the ballot box. Then let's be sure we screen the candidates who say they want to run the party. It's up to us to choose wisely.

Liow's faction's call to boycott party functions and activities is an affront to right thinking members. If a leader never steps out of his comfort zone to reach out, meet, talk, listen and build relationships, he grows stale. His inability to listen is a form of arrogance. It means either he think he already know it all or just doesn't care.

The "thumping" defeat suffered by MCA/BN in the 2008 general election haven't woke up these renegades. Their only interest is how to do a better job of convincing everyone they are right in calling for fresh MCA polls.

Leadership is all about managing change. Things change. You adapt. The CC has decided that there is no EGM for fresh polls. You face that reality and tell the truth. I don't know if it's their denial or dishonesty but it can start to drive you crazy after a while. Nobody in the group of 13 seems to know how to talk straight anymore.

Let us have some character here. That means knowing the difference between right and wrong and having the guts to do the right thing. The motivations behind the calling of fresh polls are questionable and this has resulted in this quandary. Liow's pack of wolves' tough talk isn't courage. Courage in the 21st century doesn't mean posturing and bravado. Courage is a commitment to sit down at the negotiating table and talk.

As politicians, courage means taking a position even though you know it will cost you votes and friends.

Liow Tiong Lai has to be mindful that, leaders are made not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis especially in times when your world comes tumbling down.

mca-ong-chua-liowSo Liow, here's where you and your 12 renegades stand immersed in turmoil with no plan for winning and no plan of stopping. You cannot continue to play a zero sum game. Either you win and Ong-Chua lose or Ong-Chua win and you lose. The winners take all.

As a party vice-president, you must be responsible to the office and work hard to unite the party at these crucial times. We must stop fighting internally. Therefore you must rise above the critics, speak and explain to the members and bring them along in a constructive, non-partisan way to achieve big things for MCA and the nation. You must show courage and leadership and not be afraid of what others think. You have to understand the office is bigger than you as a person.

Our nation is facing challenges from all sides- religious bigotry, disunity, political turmoil, and our economy is in trouble. These are times that cry out for leadership.

The 13th General Election is looming in the horizon. Everyone in BN is hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping a 308 disaster doesn't happen again. Now, that's just crazy. Problems happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you're going to do the next time.

All MCA leaders must take cognisance of what Abraham Lincoln once said: "We are not enemies but friends. Though passion may have strained it. But it must not break our bonds of affection."

So you 13 renegades, give us a break, get off your bottoms and get to work with the present MCA leadership and move on. We've had enough.

MCA: Is boycott a sensible move?

KUALA LUMPUR - Is boycotting party functions and events an appropriate way to solve the prolonged leadership crisis in MCA, the second largest Barisan Nasional component?

Those aligned to MCA vice-president Liow Tiong Lai, feel that boycott is the only option to show their dissatisfaction against the party leadership led by president Ong Tee Keat and deputy Dr Chua Soi Lek.

liow-tiong-laiAfter failing to push for a fresh party election to pick the national leaders, party insiders say the move by Liow is to create a perception that all is not well in the party and there is a split.

Liow's faction over the past months have been trying to get two-thirds of the party's all-powerful central committee to resign en bloc in the bid to force for fresh polls. This, however, failed as only 13 CC members submitted their undated and unconditional resignation letters.

Against principle of democracy

"They just want to show that the party continues to be disunited in order to force a fresh party election. Basically, they are running out of options as they cannnot call for the EGM after they missed the opportunity in November.

"The momentum is not there anymore. It will be difficult to push for fresh polls through an EGM. So, the only option available is to boycott (party events) to show that the resistence is still there," said a party insider.

ting-chew-pehFormer MCA secretary-general Dr Ting Chew Peh said Liow's faction should not resort to such a drastic action as this was very much against the principle of democracy.

"If you are in the CC, whether you like it or not, you've got to follow the decision made although there might have been differences of opinion. If you can't, then you've got to quit," he said.

Ting said the action by Liow's group was not only improper but also bad for the party's image.

"You cannot force people to resign to have your way. If they (Liow's faction) put party interest above their own, they should sit down and work together with the current leaders and other CC members," he said.

yap-pian-hon-1MCA veteran Yap Pian Hon said the action by Liow's faction was "akin to declaring war against your own party" and showed glaring immaturity in handling the party's internal crisis.

Yap said they should realise that they were voted in by party members, and the government positions given to them was based on the party's recommendations.

"They have a social responsibility to help the party, not to destroy it. You can disagree with others' opinions but once the decision is made, you cannot resort to a boycott. Otherwise, you must have the courage to resign.

"You cannot talk about integrity and not practise it. What they are doing is very serious to the party," he said.

The statement issued by Liow's faction Tuesday is rather vague as it does not state clearly the party functions and activities that would be boycotted.

While the Mandarin version of the statement does not mention the names of the present leadership, the English version clearly makes mention of Ong and Dr Chua.

Asked by reporters Tuesday whether his faction would boycott the upcoming party anniversary celebration, annual general meeting or any presidential council or CC meeting, Liow was silent except for a nod, which has been interpreted as 'Yes' by the media.

Utterly irresponsible act

Party sources close to the faction claimed that they purposely did not specifically mention the functions or activities as they claimed the party election could still be held any time soon.

Once Ong and Chua could reach a consensus, there would be fresh polls, the sources said.

Wong Nai Chee, a CC member aligned to Liow said their group decided on the boycott as they insisted that fresh polls were the ultimate solution to the party crisis while some members had lost faith in Ong and Chua.

"By not having a fresh election, they are dragging the party into further chaos. It is an utterly irresponsible act.

"The party is currently in a chaotic state as the leaders are not respecting the resolutions of the Oct 10 EGM, which passed a motion of no confidence against the president and rejected Chua's reinstatement as deputy president," he said. - Bernama

Liow Tiong Lai, how sure you can be elected as president of mca if fresh election is held for you. Answer this simple question first before you keep harping for fresh election every day when you open your mouth. Do you know dengue epidemic is coming. What are you doing as minister of health? Why are you thinking so highly of yourself as if you will become president of mca in 2010. Don't daydream. Just look at the way you talk and articulate in public. You totally lack the ability to articulate your position as health minister and the political policies of your party as vice president and that of the BN you are in. Learn first what are the requirements of a president-to-be, understand?. Ong Tee Keat outshines you anytime, you must remember that. When you have eaten more salt and rice than Ong, then only you can think
defeating him. Even if you fight Ong in the boxing ring, I bet you know you will be badly injured. Listen obediently to him whatever he said, do you understand. Are you still
behaving like a very small boy showing tantrums just because there is no fresh election. Wait for the AGM is due, then, you can ask wee ka siong to nominate you and seconded by chew mei fun to stand against Ong Tee Keat as president. Don't you know that Confucius says " Patience is Virtue."

Game over for Liow and gang

Jan 30, 10 11:51am

It appears that hopes for fresh polls in MCA are dashed now that the all-powerful central committee (CC) has decided not to have any.

It's game over for those who had harboured high hopes for this route to be taken to resolve the leadership crisis in the 61-year-old party.

Even though technically fresh polls still can be held if two thirds of the CC were to resign, the sentiment for this has somewhat been lost. It was very simple why the plan stalled: not many CC members were keen to relinquish their lofty positions.

NONESome party insiders held the view that all this while the faction headed by vice-president Liow Tiong Lai (centre in photo) knew that it would not have enough support to push for fresh polls but plodded on merely to give an impression that it had wide grassroots support.

The insiders observed that the first sign that Liow and 12 other CC members did not have the required support was when they decided to turn the MCA extraordinary general meeting (EGM) called by them on Nov 28 last year into a briefing session.

Liow's faction had declared it had more than 1,300 delegates, but a check by the party headquarters showed that only about 600 central delegates attended, very much short of the one-third of the delegates required to pass any resolution at an EGM of the party, the insiders said.

MCA has about 2,400 central delegates and one-third of them would mean about 800 delegates.

NONEThe second sign which showed that the group did not have the required numbers was when it agreed to the formation of the party's re-election committee headed by party deputy president Dr Chua Soi Lek (right) to look at the possibility of having fresh polls.

"By agreeing to that, it means that you are actually showing the card that you don't have the numbers. If you have the numbers, you would not agree to it (the committee) and would just go ahead with the EGM to pave the way for fresh polls with the adoption of the specific resolution," one of them said.

One of the CC members, who declined to be identified, said that during yesterday's CC meeting, Liow kept arguing that the party should fix the date for fresh polls.

But other CC members countered by saying that the party could not fix a date for fresh polls because the proponents for the move did not have the required number of members to do so, he disclosed.

"The truth is that the party re-election committee said there were not enough numbers of CC members agreeing to resign to push for fresh polls," said another CC member.

Direct presidential elections

A third CC member, Eng Hiap Boon, said the push for fresh polls had waned and that Liow's group should accept the re-election committee's findings tabled at yesterday's meeting that there was not enough quorum to call for fresh polls.

"This is numbers game. If you don't have the numbers, you can't have it, that's all."

His view was shared by another CC member, Ti Lian Ker, who said fresh polls were a non-issue from now on because the proponents had not been able to muster enough support.

"The issue is now closed. We can't allow the party to stand still for most of the time for the pre-condition for fresh polls to be fulfilled. The party needs to move on," he said.

Another CC member, Chong Itt Chew, claimed that he noticed that there was also a "split" among the group of the 13 CC members who originally wanted fresh polls as some of them indicated that they wanted to withdraw their undated resignation letters addressed earlier to party secretary-general Wong Foon Meng.

He said that the split surfaced when a call by one of the CC members who had pressed for fresh polls to stage a walk out en masse at yesterday's CC meeting did not receive strong support as only three out of 13 in the faction left the meeting.

Party veteran Yap Pian Hon said he believed that there was a possibility that Liow may eventually come back and support the party's leadership after his failed attempt to push for fresh polls.

"I see how he has joined hands with the president (Ong Tee Keat) when the party held a dialogue with Huazong (Federation of Chinese Associations, Malaysia) yesterday. Both of them shook hands," he said.

Yap said Ong had all this while said that "his door is always open to Liow".

NONEFor most of the party leaders and political analysts, the most significant outcome from the CC meeting was not much about the party's decision not to hold fresh polls but the appointment of new national organising secretary Simon Lim, who is also political secretary to Transport Minister Ong (left), and Tee Siew Keong, Chua's former political secretary as deputy national
organising secretary.

"The message is very clear that Ong wants to push for direct presidential elections and make the neccesary changes to the party constitution. He put the people he trusted most to hold key positions to get this proposal implemented. We can expect that the party election next year is likely to be based on this new system," he said.

I was told that during the lunch break of the CC meeting.

1. Liow Tiong Lai, Wee and their gang sat together at one table. They just ate their lunch quietly with no talking between them.

2. OTK, CSL and the rest of the CC sat at different tables and kept as far away from these people like diseased and plague infected. Seemed there was an empty table between the two groups.

3. Chew Mei Fun ate her fried meehoon alone in the meeting room

j4otk. Can you put some light into these strange behaviors. It looks so funny.

Ok this my observation , before I comment , I hope Liow reads this message . Be a MAN , do not be lead by one stinking woman who keeps on pestering you to leave the CC meeting . You are a Minister and the CC is the highest body for you to discuss MCA matters rather being using the CC meeting to stage awalkout for no obvious reasons spurned on by one idiotic woman who subsequently left and walk out alone to eat her fried meehoon . Two others left the meeting later when the president also left for another function with the Chinese Guilds and Associations .

If you readers want to know the strange behaviours of these people and who is the woman I mentioned , read the high lights in blue and red in the above article . This explains for all the strange behaviours .

Quo vadis, Liow Tiong Lai

Wednesday, 27 January 2010 12:35

top-letterIn life, everyone has challenges, no one is exempt. It does no good to sit around complaining and whining.

In many instances we can't control what happen to us, but we can control our reactions to what happens to us. We can stay down for the count and be carried out of the ring or we can pull ourselves back to our feet.

Seemingly adversity causes some men to break. Some who encounter opposition often look externally for causes or blame. As they forget the best way to make progress and initiate change is to first look inside – to start with yourself.

Leo Tolystoy once stated:- 'Everybody thinks of changing humanity and nobody think of changing himself.'

There lies the problem of Liow Tiong Lai's faction. Right now, the Liow faction seems to have only one guiding principle:-

mca-ong-liow-2"Everything Ong Tee Keat does is wrong, even if it's something they believe in. One prominent example is the unprecedented and proactive effort to provide financial assistance to all MCA divisions to fund their party's activities. The Liow faction has aggressively attacked and subject to scorn this beneficial effort. Facts and reasons given by the MCA president are thrown overboard.

They can no longer engage in a civil conversation with the 13 renegades over things that truly matter. Liow's faction have lost the capacity to solve big challenges."

The No 13 is unlucky to some. These 13 CC members are in a quandry. They have been unable to gather another eight CC members to meet the MCA constitutional required number of 21 to call for an EGM to have fresh elections.

It is acknowledged that even if the EGM is requisitioned, the elected CC members will only serve the remaining unexpired term up to October, 2011.

Ong Tee Keat has internalized that if the MCA leadership asserts the prerogatives available to them they would have lost the bureaucratic battle. That is why he and his deputy Dr. Chua Soi Lek have been reaching out to the grassroots, meeting, talking and listening to build relationships and to find more common grounds.

These proactive, agile and responsive exercise is building trust between leaders and those on the margins. It has given greater appreciation of the other's point of view. And this has gain tremendous support from Liow's supporters who are realistic enough to recognize that MCA must move on.

The Ong-Chua leadership is now presenting an affirmative agenda – not a reactive one. This augurs well for unity for MCA as the 13th General Election looms on the horizon.

Ong Tee Keat's pursuit to investigate the PKFZ scandal was initially subjected to much controversy. But it is now an issue that all Malaysians are solidly behind his efforts.

And we have to believe in the assumption, obviously, that whatever Ong Tee Keat is conducting, he wants to end it – to provide the impetus that the Barisan Nasional Government is determined to stop corruption and abuse at high places.

As for Liow Tiong Lai, the MCA President has said, his door is always open. We acknowledge that Liow has the heart to make a difference in our community and nation in doing the right thing.

He is fully aware that his work and his deeds we speak louder than his own voice.

As inconsequential as he may think it is, the decisions he makes today may it fact alter not only his position as vice-president but also the face of MCA. He has set the stage for what he wished to be remembered.

My humble view is, he should heed the MCA president's call to work together for the people, the community and nation. That is a compelling and powerful call for the new decade.

Ong Tee Keat needs all hands on the deck. Liow should not let Ong walk alone. Let bygones be bygones. Put your shoulders to the wheel together with the president and the deputy president to move MCA forward to face the 13th General Elections.

Mr Fresh Polls skeptical of invitation to talk sam kok or talk cock . As the Hokkien use to say " ka ki kong hor Liow eh lam pah song "

Liow sceptical of Chua’s dialogue invitation

By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 — MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (picture) wants to see more action — rather than just talk — from the party’s deputy president.

He was referring to Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek’s statement yesterday that he was ready to meet with president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and Liow to resolve the party’s crisis.

Dr Chua added that the dialogue was important so MCA can then focus on the upcoming general election.

Liow said that they had already agreed on a fresh election but was disappointed with the lack of implementation from Dr Chua and Ong.

“Most importantly is the sincerity of what we have discussed.

“That is why we came to an agreement to have fresh elections. We must do it.

“That is why I said if we want to continue with a discussion there must be sincerity in it and we must implement what we have discussed,” Liow said.

Dr Chua recently announced that fresh polls will not held this month as planned because there were insufficient numbers of elected members from the party’s Central Committee (CC) who have submitted their resignations.

Under the party constitution, a fresh poll must be held within 30 days if 21 of the 31 elected CC members resign.

Only 13 CC members have submitted their resignation letters.

However, Dr Chua has hinted that the party may still hold fresh elections in March.

Liow said that it was now up to Dr Chua and Ong to have the polls as soon as possible.

“I have done my part and now they have to come up with something concrete...I think it is up to them to do it,” said Liow.

Datuk Seri Ong , Please replace your Chinese Guilds and Associations Consultative Bureau Chairman .

Liow ropes in sacked MCA deputy ministers

Giam Say Khoon

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 24, 2010): The MCA deputy ministers who were dropped from the party's presidential council last year have been absorbed into the Chinese guilds and associations consultative bureau under the leadership of renegade vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

Liow told the Press today after meeting grassroots leaders that the presidential council will not able to play its role effectively without the participation of the deputy ministers in question.
"As the bureau chief, I have been keeping contact with the Chinese associations and we would like to contribute more for the community.

"Therefore I have decided to appoint the five deputy ministers to my bureau to deal with problems faced by the community," he said.

Asked whether the appointments made was the result of the reshuffle of the presidential council, Liow said: "You (reporters) can interpret."

On Nov 18 last year, party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat announced the reshuffling of the central committee, which he was empowered, under the party constitution, to appoint and remove any member of the council.

The members removed were: Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong (Deputy Education Minister), Wanita chief Datuk Paduka Chew Mei Fun (Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister), ex-organising secretary Yoo Wei How, ex-deputy organising secretary Gan Hong Su, ex-MCA Information chief Lee Wei Kiat, Deputy Higher Education Minister Dr Hou Kok Chung, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Wee Jeck Seng and central committee (CC) member Wong Nai Chee.

All nine leaders, who were aligned to Liow who was pushing for fresh polls to end the party crisis, were replaced with Ong loyalists.

The decision had drawn criticism from many quarters, including some party veterans.

Liow also said the party had fixed a meeting with all Chinese association representatives on Friday but it would clash with the CC meeting scheduled for the same day.

He said he hoped all MCA ministers and deputy ministers will be able to attend the meeting between the party and Chinese associations and postpone the CC meeting because it was not easy to get all the association representatives to agree to meet on the same date.

On the coming CC meeting, he said he had spoken too much about having fresh polls and told everyone to wait for the outcome of the meeting. -- theSun

Cabinet reshuffle on the cards?

Yong Kai Ping
Jan 15, 10

The talk of a possible cabinet reshuffle is gaining ground among MCA politicians as the Ong Tee Keat and Dr Chua Soi Lek alliance eyes fresh polls in March to solve the protracted power struggle.

MCA number two Chua has more than once argued for a March date for the polls, after the Chinese New Year celebration, unlike the Liow Tiong Lai faction which was insistent on this month.

NONELiow's faction accused Ong and Chua of applying delaying tactics to buy time to woo delegates.

Since Liow's faction could only gather 13 central committee members to resign, short of the 21 needed to call for immediate fresh polls, party polls in March seems to be the only alternative.

Chua taking on Liow?

After the polls, it is inevitable that those cabinet posts held by MCA will be filled by the winners.

Chua is widely expected to take on Liow for the number one post as Ong is rumoured not desiring to defend his presidency.

liow tiong lai and faction resign 151209 01A fierce fight is looming between the Ong-Chua alliance and the Liow faction, with the latter said to have the backing of former president Ong Ka Ting.

Judging by the close results in the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) held last October, the fresh elections may turn out to be one of the closest fights in party history as the top six posts of president, deputy, and four vice-presidents have no clear favourites.

Thus MCA, which currently holds four ministerial posts and six deputy minister posts may see a change if the incumbents fall in the contest.

The cabinet reshuffle talk is said to have prompted some ministers to adopt a wait-and-see attitude, deciding not to fill up some staff vacancies, especially those who left last December, until the picture becomes clearer in March.

Some MCA sources also stated that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's patience is wearing thin, and the party crisis resolved once and by March.

Yong Kai Ping , I say man , how much did Liow Tiong Lai pay you to write this crap ?

Malaysians are no more that stupid to think that there will be fresh elections fresh elections just for a cabinet reshuffle ? Common on ! don't be a nut , there might be a reshuffle affecting UMNO ministers , but
Ong Tee Keat and Dr Chua Soi Lek alliance eyes fresh polls in March to solve the protracted power struggle. ??? What protracted power struggle are you bullshitting about ? Stop your stupid polemics , for heavens sake . MCA has more important things to do rather than harping on the century old fresh elections .

If there is a cabinet reshuffle , I see Liow and Wee Ka Siong being removed as Minister and Deputy Minister but not a fresh election . Perhaps , Chew will also ahve to go .

Chua is widely expected to take on Liow for the number one post as Ong is rumoured not desiring to defend his presidency. You have just managed to get me laughing till my lap top dropped off to the floor !!! at your idiotic spin . Chua taking on Liow ??alamak , I thought I was only born yesterday , and Ong rumoured not desiringto defend his presidency ? Who are you trying to hoodwink ? I think for a political writer you have just wrote your obituary .. after having gone thru those horrendus episodes last year and now firmly in control , does it looks like Ong will relinguish his hard fought presidency by not defending his presidency ?

I have lost words on how to describe your article .. which can only tell me that this is a paid advertisement by either Liow or Wee . Rest in Peace for this article .
