Now that the deadline has passed for those wanabes and still no news on the actual number of resignations . I can only conclude that only 13 have resigned .

If there is indeed more than 13 and meets the two thirds that is required , wouldn't you think Brutus and Gang would have made a big hoo ha about it ? They will be calling for Press Conferences with all those behind him and talking Big as if he is the UMNO installed president ?

The message is very clear , many who initially wanted to resign were pissed off or put off by the orchestrated resignations in Parliament . They saw that as something that shouldn't have been done in Parliament and what they really got into their brains was that Liow Tiong Lai was actually trying to impress his boss in UMNO because immediately after the PC , Liow was seen walking away to have a meeting with DPM Muhyiddin . Your guess is as good as mine what they discuss .


Wong stays mum, won't reveal names

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 — MCA secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng (picture) today declined to reveal the list of the party's Central Committee (CC) members who had or had not tendered their resignation letters following today's deadline for them to state their stand.

In a statement here tonight, Wong said he did not want to cause any confusion in the party's effort to resolve the crisis the MCA is currently facing.

"The MCA headquarters'secretariat or myself will update the Special Committee on Party Re-elections chaired by Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek (on the status of the resignations)," he added.

MCA must not hesitate to condemn outside encroachment

Christmas is here. A season of peace and goodwill. But sadly for MCA, there is no peace. No goodwill. Nothing but sadness. Very sad indeed.

We have a gang of clueless renegades ruthlessly attempting to sabotage MCA and desperately trying to collect 21 signatures of the elected Central Committee members (CC) to stage fresh elections. They must be kidding.

You might think I've gone off my rocker and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognise MCA anymore. President Dwight Eisenhower once said: 'You don't lead by hitting people over the head. That's assault, not leadership'.

But that is precisely what this trio of Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Ka Siong and Chew Mei Fun are attempting to do - to bludgeon their MCA President Ong Tee Keat and take control of the party.
Why are we in this mess? How did we end up with this crowd in the CC? Well, the central delegates voted for them - or at least some of them did.

But I'll tell you what we didn't do. We didn't agree to stop asking questions or demanding answers. We didn't agree to suspend the MCA constitution. And don't tell me it's all the fault of Ong - that's an intellectually lazy argument and it's part of the reason we're in this mess.

But here's where we stand. These are times that cry out for leadership. I have news for Liow Tiong Lai and gang. We didn't elect you to sit on your bottoms and hijack our independence, democracy, constitution, honour and greatness and to be replaced by mediocrity. Give us a break. Why don't you and gang show some spine for a change?

Courage in the 21st century doesn't mean posturing and bravado. Courage is a commitment to sit down at the negotiation table and talk. And taking a position even when you know it will cost you votes. Leadership is forged in these times of crisis. You don't have to run to outside forces with our internal disputes.

It only shows you are a coward when your world comes tumbling down. MCA must not hesitate to condemn outside encroachments whether they are perpetrated by the past leaders or outside powers. The overwhelming informed members and the Chinese community know that Umno will not be at rest until an 'obedient client' rules MCA again.

One must know you can't expect to win cooperation by calling people evil. You don't have to talk tough in order to be tough. You don't go knocking on the head of your buddy of two decades. That's not what democracy is all about.

So far Liow Tiong Lai and gang have been unable to be specific about what they will do in order for us to get confidence in him. Making inroads in elective politics should not lead to an unnecessary intoxication of power. Misplaced empowerment is dangerous. Those who yearn for power but are not ready for it, when empowered, may resort to actions beyond proportions.

The learning curve from a political secretary to member of Parliament, deputy minister to the lofty position of a full minister is wide and gaping. Time and adversity collectively become the best teachers. Therefore taking and making time is a well-advised alternative.

But for Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Ka Siong and Chew Mei Fun, they seem to be people in a big hurry. They and their plotters in silhouettes and vignettes in the background are ready to plunge their daggers into the heart of Ong Tee Keat.

But I am certain that the Chinese community and Malaysians in general would not find the betrayal in good taste or palatable, Ong certainly did not deserve the treatment unleashes by this headline-grabbing and power-crazy trio.

That's why we members take it personally when Liow Tiong Lai tries to ruin a man who speaks his mind fearlessly for the party, community and nation.

In spite of all these excruciating experiences, Ong Tee Keat has not changed his positioning. He continues in his relentless search for the common good. His door for Liow Tiong Lai to come back to the fold is always open.

He said recently, 'It is just plain crazy to stop talking to people you disagree with. As long as you keep talking, there is hope'.

Ong Tee Keat is right. If you are the MCA president, your ideas have to be bigger than your friends. So what we MCA members should do about our enduring love affair with MCA? Let us push for Key Performance Indicators for our MCA leaders. It is supposed to gauge the performance of the MCA leaders and their public office.

Short of meeting their KPI repeatedly, they should invite themselves through the exit door without further hints or taps on the shoulders. This is the most gentlemanly of all overtures, globally. No more linkages in terms of reasoning and excuse.

Emotional appeals and crying openly on TV of how one is never short of the best of intentions only to be a let down by reality simply does not hold water anymore. Our members and the Chinese community are already too clever for that.

Now the future of the MCA is at stake. I am only trying to light a fire. I am speaking out because I have hope. I believe in MCA. I believe in building a better future for our children.

Democracy isn't a spectator sport. We all have a role to play and I am going to ask you to get involved. Let us bring back the leadership we deserve. It's not too late but its getting pretty close.
So let's shake off the detractors and go to work. Let's tell them all we have had enough.

Apcet II: Detainees win suit, gov't ordered to pay

The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered the government to pay RM30,000 each to 29 human rights activists and journalists wrongfully detained following Umno Youth's disruption of the Apcet II civil society gathering in Kuala Lumpur more than a decade ago.

The government will now have to pay them a total of RM870,000 in general damages.

The plaintiffs were also awarded 8 percent interest per annum from the date the suit was filed on Nov 9, 1998.

Appeals Court Judge Wan Adnan Muhamad delivered his decision this morning, saying that "the facts here are clear and straightforward and the judgement is based on facts submitted by both parties".

“I think the amount is enough for the suffering endured during their detention of almost 24 hours behind bars,” he remarked.

The judge, however, dismissed the plaintiffs' claim for aggravated, exemplary and special damages, saying there is no documentation to prove the basis for this.

The local activists and journalists had filed a RM87 million suit against the government two years after the incident.

He also dismissed their claim of a conspiracy involving the police and the government.

“There is no evidence that the defendant (former Dang Wangi OCPD Zainal Abidin Ali, left) was trying to sabotage the conference to please the government,” he said.

Wan Adnan found that the extension of the remand by a magistrate and the application by the police were valid in terms of the law.

The judge, who delivered a gist of his written judgement, questioning Zainal's testimony that he had been unaware of the conference when the police raided the venue.

“During cross-examination he denied knowing about the mob, but there was a letter by (R) Sivarasa to then Deputy Home Minister Megat Junid Megat Ayob (right) seeking permission to host the event.

"Therefore, the outcome of the letter would have been informed to the OCPD, to which he later admitted that he was aware.”

The judge further noted that the two minutes given to the participants to disperse was not enough and that Zainal “acted recklessly” in making the arrests.

Senior federal counsel Izman Ishak, when approached outside the court, would not say if an appeal would be filed, preferring to reserve comment.

Prosecution reserves comment

The suit was filed against the government after the group's "wrongful detention" at the Second Asia Pacific Conference on East Timor (Apcet II) on Nov 11, 1996.

The international conference was organised to discuss human rights abuses in East Timor and its struggle for independence from Indonesia.

It was held at the Asia Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and saw nasty scenes when a mob led by Umno Youth stormed the venue and harassed the 100 participants.

On that day, as the conference was about to begin, 400 members of the Umno Youth-led Barisan Bertindak Rakyat Malaysia (BBRM), or Malaysia's People's Action Front, stormed in and disrupted the meeting.

They broke down the conference hall doors, flung chairs and verbally and physically abused the participants.

Police then moved in to arrest the participants, who were detained for between one and six days, while 40 foreign participants were deported.

A total of 36 activists and journalists originally filed the law suit. However, four withdrew, one passed away and two did not appear to provide testimony during the trial.

Among the high-profile plaintiffs are:

1) Former PRM secretary-general Sanusi Othman
2) PKR deputy president and senator Syed Husin Ali
3) Batu parliamentarian Tian Chua
4) Malaysiakini chief executive officer Premesh Chandran
5) Malaysiakini editor-in-chief Steven Gan
6) Malaysian Trade Union Congress president Syed Shahir Syed Mohamad.

Others include Subang MP R Sivarasa, Parti Sosialis Malaysia president Dr Nasir Hashim and former New Era College principal Kua Kia Soong.

The defendants are former Kuala Lumpur police chief Ismail Che' Ros, former Dang Wangi OCPD Zainal Abidin Ali, investigations officer chief inspector Tengku Hamzah Tengku Abdullah and the Malaysian government.

Besides, if the AG had wanted to, these big-time sharks would have been charged together with ikan bilis like OC Phang and others whose names you cannot even remember. The thing is, the AG is not so silly as to raise public expectations about netting a Big Fish (http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/newsgeneral.php?id=461498) without actually doing it. That would be politically-suicidal. Very few people know that the A-G's Chambers is now working overtime to build a case against a senior BN leader following the recent emergence of some damning documents.

The first series of the said documents was deposited at the AG's Office in Precint 4, Putrajaya, on a Sunday morning by a Bangladeshi worker who thought no one was in the office (the staff were then rushing through the GST bill). The 2-volume documents implicate a man, whose involvement in the RM12 billion fiasco was only spoken in hushed tones before this, due to lack of evidence. But now, documented evidence has started to surface about the involvement of Deputy Education Minister Wee Ka Siong in the PKFZ mess.

The latest daming documents show that Hijau Sekitar Sdn Bhd (240539-X) did consultancy work for Wijaya Baru Sdn Bhd (205953-X) on "the feasibility of a new port facility on reclaimed land at the mouth of Selat Lumut in Port Klang" in 2006. Hijau Sekitar, established in 1992, is owned by WKS, who has 49,998 shares. The remaining shareholders are one Lim Kit Siong (50,001 shares) and Wong Woon Ping (1 share). Wijaya Baru, as we all know, is the parent company of Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd, the turnkey contractor which made PKFZ its own goldmine. (Please refer to the documents, including a company search).

Here's the background and some lowdown: Back when PKFZ was starting to take shape and when no one could ever imagine it would become the biggest financial scandal in Malaysian history, two prominent businessmen wanted to make some quick bucks. Westport boss Tan Sri G. Gnanalingam and Tiong King Sing each bought a piece of land adjacent to PKFZ, a project modelled after the highly-rated Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Being privy to the information about the massive infrastructural developments that would take shape in next door PKFZ, the duo had wanted to piggy-back on what they then thought would be a foundry for golden eggs-laying geese. The duo was aided and abetted by WKS through his little-known consulting firm, Hijau Sekitar, which headed four other consulting firms.

Had PKFZ succeeded, the port facilities would have been leased to the Port Klang Authority on a long-term basis for a price more handsome than the love-struck Bung Mukhtar. And let's not forget the windfall from price appreciation of the two plots once PKFZ was in full-swing. Tiong King Sing and WKS would have made billionaire golfer Tiger Woods (who was recently Chua Soi Lek-ed) look like a pauper.

In other words, WKS, through his buddy TKS, wanted to have a second milking of the cash cow (the first being PKFZ proper). It was a plan so well thought out, the duo could have just carted away in broad daylight whole military aircrafts, not just its engine parts like how some corrupt Mindef officials did. Credit must be given to Mastermind Wee (as lead consultant) for a plan so ingenious, it could only have been inspired by sheer greed.

Alas, Ong Tee Keat messed up their Grand Design by opening the can of worms that is the PKFZ. Now, not only are the crooks not getting the second bite of the cherry, they are going to need to bite the bullet. The A-G's Chambers and the MACC are now poring through 7 boxes of documents seized from Port Klang Authority's office on Dec 4 to determine the extent of which WKS breached the Official Secrets Act by acting on classified information. Highly-placed sources said WKS will also be charged for economic plunder and grand larceny in the first two weeks of 2010.

But legal problems aside, the political fallout for the MCA Youth chairman following the surfacing of such documents would even be greater. The documents clearly show that WKS is closely linked to Tiong King Sing, who is gunning for Ong Tee Keat over the PKFZ issue. It shows why WKS is so impatient to topple the MCA president, when it was clear as daylight that the Youth Chief himself, given his credentials, was president-in-waiting. Even WKS's own aide in the Education Ministry used to be a staff of Wijaya Baru and was collecting a salary from Tiong. WKS was also the one who laid the trap for Ong Tee Keat to board Tiong's private jet and then leaked the details in the Internet. But crybaby WKS underestimated those who abhor traitors and the reach of closet whistleblowers who can't stand hypocrites and plunderers. The documents below are only the first batch. More will be released in due time. By then, Liow Tiong Lai’s wife run-in with the MACC over the Toyota Alphard scandal will look like a noble deed.

KUALA LUMPUR - Speculation is rife that the next big fish to be hauled up and charged over the PKFZ scandal is Deputy Education Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong. According to a local web portal, "leaked documents" deposited with the prosecuting authorities had linked Wee, who is MCA Youth chief, to the scandal through his involvement in a consulting firm known as Hijau Sekitar Sdn Bhd. The web portal alleges that documents show that Hijau Sekitar Sdn Bhd did consultancy work for Wijaya Baru Sdn Bhd on "the feasibility of a new port facility on reclaimed land at the mouth of Selat Lumut in Port Klang" in 2006. Wijaya Baru, it said, is the parent company of Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd, the turnkey contractor which" made PKFZ into a goldmine." Further, the news portal claimed that Hijau Sekitar, established in 1992, is owned by Wee Ka Siong, who has 49,998 shares. This is the work of a cult that exists in PR , such that when they fart it smells like perfume , and when BN farts , no matter how nice it smells to them it sure stinks all the way to kingdom come .

But let me say this , no two persons journeys are alike , back in the old days we didn't have any scholarships to put us through university , it is thru the toil and hardships of our parents . The MCA in the process of ensuring our Chinese is NOT left out in the paper chase has set up TAR college , University TAR to provide affordable College and Univerity education for those who cannot go overseas financially . Also the MCA has managed to get the Government to recognise those with degrees from Taiwan and Chinese Univeristies . Also thru the efforts of the MCA , many Institutions of Higher Learning has been set up with twinning to Foreign Universities and getting degrees from these foreign universities by having to do the final year abroad .

Ok back to my opinion ,

Those PR chaps used to start their comments like this MCA has been selling off the Chinese for the last 50 years .

My response is and always has been the same , last 50 years ? immediately after independence ? during Tunku's time ? It's hell of a crab , what these guys have been trying to spin . to this I have this to say :

In 2004 GE when Tun M stepped down and Pak Lah took over , didn't BN won with an overwhelming majority until even all the Big Wits in PKR , DAP got hammered and had to limp away . In Penang they lost all except one seat which was won by Phee .
Did that win showed the unhappiness and disappointment of the Chinese towards the MCA over the last 50 years with all the racial and ketuanan Melayu issues ? Hardly ....So this is just a myth..all was forgotten , hardly anyone brought up the issue that the Chinese were fed up with the BN .

However in 2008 , the tsunami came , but it was not for a government change , the voters were fed up after giving Pak Lah an overwhelming support which was was NOT reciprocated by his promises he made . It was a real complete let down . The timing and the conditions were perfect to teach BN a lesson . UMNO had their internal problems , so were MIC , Gerakan and MCA . Many MCA candidates were kicked out by their own MCA members because they happen to be the stooges of the Ong Brothers Sdn Bhd . They didn't field capable candidates who won with big majorities , instead they chose to field young , untested candidates whom Ong Ka Ting could control with ease and submitted to him .
And then there was the embracing picture of Ka Ting and Kerismuddin together with the latter holding up the Keris which was one of the main factors , voters got pissed off .
Gerakan had their own problems too , naming four possible CM material which saw their downfall through back stabbing and their submission to UMNO .

Another usual comment is to "Ask MCA to leave BN "

On this issue if one were to look far is very detrimental to the Chinese . If MCA were to leave BN , we are creating an opening for PAS to re-enter BN to fill the void left open by MCA . Remember the issue between Hadi and Tok ? where Hadi and company were contemplating of rejoining UMNO . If PAS were to join UMNO/BN at the expense of MCA , we will be having Malays controlling the Federal Govt while the Chinese and Indians will become the Opposition which is in effect have NO say at all in the running of the govt and becoming just another loudspeaker or wailer . Kelantan , Kedah , Selangor , Perak , Trengganu , Perlis , Pahang will become totally Malay controlled State Governments without any single Chinese representative .

In spite of all acussations of MCA selling out the Chinese , see above comments posted by one commenter , believe to be a DAP cult supporter , despite our limitations , our handicapped , the Chinese in Malaysia have managed to overcome all these to prosper and grow . The Chinese has become the largest contributor to the Income Tax Dept in Malaysia . Chinese owned companies form the largest segments in the Bursa Malaysia . Chinese in Malaysia have still retained their Chinese names , their culture , their language and their Chinese schools . Isn't this all thru the participation , efforts and work of MCA in BN !

And to say MCA is still the same, with the same type of rotten leaders, from Ong Tee Keat down to the branch bosses. smirks of a racist , hell bent on getting rid of MCA and to lump Ong Tee Keat with the rest of the Ex MCA leaders and some current leaders must have come from a mentally deranged idiot .

Please be aware of these PR anonymous cyber troopers who will invade blocks to sell their wares .... That is why I said I will response in two days time just to see what else they are posting .

They are worried if Ong Tee Keat were to remain and come out unscathed from all these internal bickering , MCA will be getting back lost territory in the coming GE , so stay alert and repulse these troopers .
