Penang senior citizens to get RM100 annually

Cheap skate vote buying ? Corruption or bribery ? What can you do with RM$100 ? for a year ? what gutter money politics ?

PENANG, Feb 28 — The state government will distribute aid of RM100 annually to each senior citizen in Penang who are eligible and aged 60 and above beginning April.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the aid, given under the Senior Citizens Appreciation Programme, was one of the efforts initiated by the state government to assist and appreciate the elderly.

“There are 132,000 senior citizens in the state but only 62,000 had registered at the State Assemblymen’s Service Centres to receive the aid and according to the statistics, the areas with the most number of senior citizens are in the North-East and Seberang Perai Utara districts,” he told reporters, here today.

Lim said that beginning tomorrow until March 8, senior citizens could check the name register and their personal particulars in the website http://isejahtera.penang.gov.my which was launched today. — Bernama

  1. I am eligible to receive the money, but I will not be part of this cheap stunt, my vote is not that cheap, either. Obviously, it is an insult that our vote can be bought, if the Cheap Minister is sincere, he should listen more to the wise elderly, that is throw away his ego, be diplomatic and start to preform. What most elderly want to see is Penang lead again, that their children and grand children have a bright and sustainable future, this is worth many, many time the RM 100.

He wasted two years already and he MUST stop such nonsenses, instead emulate Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu to move Penang forward. This cheap stunt reveal that the Cheap Minister have no substance to move Penang forward and trying to camouflage his weaknesses with those silly acts...........

  2. LGE..ask your father LKS to stay home and try to survive with $100 per year.

The senior citizens are the people that requires more care and monies to be looked after..things like medicine, home, daily care etc etc.

Is this the way the DAP or the Lim family show their respect to the elders in Penang after being voted into power?

May God punish you in the next elections!
