Kit Siang suffers vertigo attack

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — Lim Kit Siang suffered a vertigo attack this morning that caused the DAP veteran lawmaker to experience a “severe attack of dizziness, vomiting and hearing loss.”

Earlier Lim wrote via the Twitter micro-blogging service that he will miss a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) function tonight.

“Suffered severe attack of dizziness vomitting hearing loss Medically advised 2rest Will miss PR leaders' function 4Galas by-election 2nite,” he twitted.

The party’s chief-of-staff Foo Yueh Chuan told The Malaysian Insider that DAP veteran lawmaker went for a medical check-up at Assunta Hospital in Petaling Jaya at noon.

“He went through his normal routine of having breakfast and when we reached the office, he felt dizzy and began to vomit. We then decided to bring him to Assunta where he had a medical check for half an hour,” she told The Malaysian Insider.

Foo added that the doctor has asked Lim to rest for the day but he will be back in action tomorrow.

“He has been under stress lately and what is important now is that he is well,” she said.

Vertigo is described as a spinning sensation and may be accompanied by other symptoms, including nausea and vomiting.
