Dr Chua’s sex scandal widely discussed at Wanita MCA assembly

MCA women leaders talk about Soi Lek's DVD sex scandal

KUALA LUMPUR – The 35th annual general assembly of the Wanita MCA today turned lively when the sex scandal involving MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek was raised by a delegat from Pahang, Khiew Yuh Jiuan, claimed that most party members were embarrassed that a top party leader had a “moral problem”.

She also felt that the party’s struggles had failed with regard to the matter which resulted in many members not being able to state their stand on the scandal clearly.

“When we want to express our views, others will attack the party easily by citing the president’s sex scandal. As members, we had to remain silent. Party president (Dr Chua), can your leadership assist in expanding the MCA?” she asked.

Chew quit on a point of principle
This statement was greeted by loud applause from the delegates who had filled up the meeting hall at Hotel Berjaya Times Square, here.

Speaker Ooi Siew Kim then said that Khiew’s speech clearly reflected the sentiments of party members from the grassroots right up to the party leadership.

In January 2008, Dr Chua relinquished his position in the Cabinet and the MCA vice-presidency after admitting that he was the man in the sex video which had been widely distributed.

Dr Chua was elected to lead the MCA in the extraordinary general meeting of the party on March 28 after beating incumbent Datuk Seri Ong Tee Kiat and a former president, Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting.

Former Wanita MCA head Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, who was unhappy with the election results, later relinquished all her positions in the party and as deputy minister to fulfill her promise to do so if Dr Chua were to become MCA president.

In her debate, vice-head Senator Heng Seai Kie hoped the delegates could accept the party leadership that had been elected with an open mind so that the internal crisis could end.

She was confident that the party still had a bright future in the national political arena although there were many members who could not accept the results of the election in March. – Bernama

Senator Heng's Personality most disappointing as a Deputy Minister .

Look like Senator Heng have deserted DS OTK to support MCA tainted president....she cited that MCA leadership had been elected with an open mind is an absurd proclamation. MCA tainted president is not a disgrace to MCA only....but also the Chinese community as well as the rakyat.....In the first place the re-election is unnecessary as the former president was doing a good job with his reforms.

More precisely what happen was a plot by the greedy bigots to topple DS OTK to stop all his courageous and selfless deeds as his reforms was a threat to many people self interest.
I am very disappointed with Senator Heng who is not able to stay on course but waver.....and now trying to polish the porn star.

Heng: Trio aware they are

violating constitution

KUALA LUMPUR: The three MCA central committee (CC) members requisitioning for a second extraordinary general meeting (EGM) know their actions contravene the party constitution, said information and communication bureau chief Senator Heng Seai Kie.

If Wong Nai Chee, Datuk Liew Yuen Keong and Datuk Wee Jeck Seng insist on holding the EGM, they must modify and re-submit their resolution because the current motion had been rejected earlier by the party secretary-general, said Heng, who is also Wanita MCA secretary-general.

Heng said the three had requisitioned to hold an EGM, which would contravene Articles 35 and 41 of the party constitution.

“The secretary-general had already explained the grounds for rejecting their motion to convene the EGM.

“I am surprised that all three requisitionists, who knowingly have contravened the party constitution, are persisting in calling for an EGM,” she said in a press statement.

Heng urged all party members to give the greater unity plan an opportunity to succeed and to stop the in-fighting.

“It is within our will and ability to mobilise all resources to promote party reforms to regain the rakyat’s support and ultimately face the next general election,” she said.

Heng added that majority in the CC had accepted the greater unity plan during a meeting on Nov 3.

She said that at a previous CC meeting on Oct 15, party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat did instruct for the convening of an EGM, but later found out that the proposal did not fulfil Article 41 of the party constitution.

The article states party polls may be held only if two-thirds of the CC members resign.

In Johor Baru, party veteran Datuk Freddie Long said the Chinese community was tired of the constant bickering among top MCA leaders.

“As for those ambitious ones, I think they should wait because there will be another party election in less than two years,” the former five-term assemblyman said yesterday.
