And a reader writes ..

And this is supposed to be a holy month for the Muslims when they are required to exercise both abstinence and tolerance. But, if Perkasa's claims of representing a majority of Malays has any truth in it, are they suggesting here that most Malays think and behave like the delinquents they are. I have used so many adjectives and superlatives to express my revulsion and disgust to all that Perkasa stands for and represents. Yet, dare they say that they speak for the majority, when I know first hand that there are numerous Malays out there, who would themselves cringe and feel grossly violated, when a pariah and bankrupt movement like Perkasa arrogates to itself the right to speak on their behalf.

Nothing good has ever come from Perkasa since the days of its formation. The lies, deceit, their constant attempts to mislead the Malay masses into believing their only agenda is the protection of the special rights of the Malays, when in essence they are the zenith of all that is evil and works counter to the well-being of the nation’s and society’s interests.

It makes no sense that when so many defenses are already in place to protect rights that were either constitutionally allowed or politically extended to the ludicrous extent we find today, that the Malays should need another radical group to voice their concerns. If UMNO allows itself to be cloned, without managing the chaotic propensities of these extremist groups, it will be inevitable that they will pose a clear and dangerous threat to the peace and harmony, as difficult and as superficial it may be, that we experience now.

Perkasa certainly cannot equate itself to the likes of Hindraf or other social movements, that which are seeking a more open and honest government and a fair and equitable approach to the distribution of economic, social, educational and political rights. Even an innocent request for social justice and equality by others is seen by this misfits as threatening security and deserving of swift retribution. The irony of Perkasa is that it professes to defend Malay rights: rights which have been more than adequately provided for and manifested in virtually every aspect of our nation's life.

Their unrelenting racist agenda will only drag my Malays friends deeper into the pits of public disgust and scorn. It is about time that BN steps in to redress the deplorable and morally indefensible conduct of Perkasa and other extremist movements that have, I am convinced, succeeded to some extent at poisoning the minds of some Malays. I am aware that there are allegations that Perkasa may be another of UMNO's devious strategies to force and forge Malay unity, but when the dogs get out of control, it is best to reign them in. Perkasa has done enough harm. The perverted and inflammatory behavior of Perkasa and their likes, if not immediately arrested, will have a lasting and debilitating effect on any effort at improving race relations. Let no one who, like some of the misguided people presently holding high positions in public office, who make brazenly stupid statements that race matters more to them than forging the spirit of nationalism, ever be spared and let off. Make examples of them. Get rid of the baggage that Najib can well do without.

If someone insults your ancestors for having been prostitutes or beggars – and there are many Malays born out of inter-marriages and ignores the contributions that all our forefathers had made towards developing this country, a place that they chose to settle in which would otherwise have remained in the backwaters if not for the industry and the capital they brought with them and , their willingness to sacrifice themselves in its defense against the Japanese and the Communists, spare them not. Deal with them firmly.

If those given positions to teach and groom our young, transgress all bounds of decency and pollute all that is right and ethical in their profession and, allow their shallow and myopic notions of race and religion to influence, corrupt and mislead their charges, seek their immediate dismissal. Those who have no qualms of using their positions to intimidate, victimize and subject children, that they are supposed to develop and mould into balanced and upright human beings and citizens, to such defiled and sick attitudes, must be removed and sent into oblivion immediately, as far away from any public contact as possible. They are nothing but depraved cowards who would never dare take racist swipes unless they know that they are protected by the racist environment they are within or that their charges would not retaliate for fear of the authority they have to make their life miserable.

  1. The author said, "Nothing good has ever come from Perkasa since the days of its formation".
Actually, ummm... what is Perkasa? This is the first time I've heard of it. (And no, I am not some dumb bimbo who only reads fashion and beauty mags, I actually do trawl the 'net looking for articles on racial relations in Malaysia because I genuinely would like to figure out how we can all live together in harmony.)
