Liow and Group Checkmated , Next Check OUT
KUALA LUMPUR - It was another dramatic and extraordinary event at the Wisma MCA Tuesday when party president Ong Tee Keat unveiled his "greater unity plan", checkmating his opponents in the party.
Nobody knew that Ong had actually planned well for this CC meeting with another brillant political move that became known just a few hours before the meeting began.
The plan included the removal of four appointed CC members who went against him, namely party organising secretary Yoo Wei How, deputy national organising secretary Gan Hong Su, and ordinary appointed members, Chor Chee Hueng and Chai Kim Seng.
The notice of their removal was sent about 10.30am via SMS by Ong's political secretary Simon Lim before being followed by the official letters.
Simultaneous moves
It was about the same time that the notice on the appointment of three new CC members were sent to Chua Tee Yong, Tan Ching Ming and Donald Lim Siang Chai. All of them attended the CC meeting Tuesday.
An hour later, a letter from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) was received by Dr Chua Soi Lek, stating that he was still the party deputy president.
All these happened almost simultaneously, just before the CC meeting started at 1pm and caught almost everyone by surprise, including those in favour of fresh party elections.
Party sources said immediately after the CC meeting began, there were attempts to stop the president from explaining the unity plan by some of the CC members who requested for an EGM but were unsuccessful.
The sources said after Ong finished his explanation, 27 of the 44 CC members signed an undertaking to support the unity plan.
Only Ong himself, Dr Chua and vice-president Dr Ng Yen Yen did not sign. The two men did not sign as they are party to the unity plan, while Ng is away on the ministry's Scandinavian tourism promotion.
Chua was sacked as deputy president on Aug 26, but the CC commuted the sacking to a four-year suspension. However, at the EGM held on Oct 10, Chua was reinstated as party member but not as the No. 2. However, ROS today said he was still the deputy president.
Liow, who had been deputy president for only 19 days, refused to accept the ROS' decision, saying he "reserved the right" to appeal against the decision and might consider taking it to court.
Together with Wanita chief Chew Mei Fun and Youth chief Wee Ka Siong and some CC members, Liow left immediately when the CC meeting ended at 5.30pm without attending the press conference by Ong.
Instead, Liow and the group held another press conference in a different room.
Party sources said the killer move by Ong during the CC meeting was when he announced that there would not be another EGM as demanded by 16 CC members.
The EGM called by the 16 was found to be unconstitutional as the requisition was against Article 15 of the MCA constitution - that the president has the ultimate power to make any party appointment.
Less than one-third
"One of the motions submitted by the group of 16 is that they want to revoke the appointment made by the president after Oct 10. This is unconstitutional as the party constitution provides the president with wide powers related to any appointment in the party," said a party source.
Another killer move was by having 27 of the 44 CC members sign their backing for the "greater unity plan" which Ong hatched with Chua. This automatically reduced the number of the requisitionists for the EGM from 16 to only 12.
This meant there were less than one-third as required under the party constitution.
With all these moves, it appears now that Liow is fighting a losing battle as Ong has strengthened his grip by appointing Chua's supporters to the CC.
Party insiders said Ong was expected to appoint his trusted loyalists to a few key positions in the party in the next few days.
Among them are Wanita MCA secretary-general Heng Seai Kie who is expected to take over as new party information chief, and party veteran Lim Hong Sang who is tipped to be the new legal bureau chief. - Bernama
Who is next on the list ?
"Forgive & Forget" may sounds nice.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it even work !
But this time, "Forgive & Forget" will never work for MCA, for the FGZs who backstabbed OTK are still recalcitrant and still insisting that they be the one to head MCA.
Chinese have 5000 years of history, and the 5000 years worth of wisdom has told us that the only way to deal with recalcitrant backstabber is Total Annihilation.
OTK should be very well served if he adapted the 5000 years of wisdom in dealing with the FGZs.
LOL. you MCA loafers.
ReplyDeleteIf only you guys were/are as good taking on UMNO goons.
Let's admit it, LTL is not a calibre leader and those FGZs deserve all these punishment. In fact, I think OTK's move is still too lenient, he should have sacked all the FGZs. Next, I would like to see the downfall of WKS. I wonder is there anyone from MCA youth dare to take on WKS! Let's slaughter the pig before we go after his brother Tiong! Every rakyat on the street would be happy to see that. CMF is a irrelevant leader to me, I wonder why the MCA wanita youth is still gullible to be led by CMF who has been abandoned by the people in the last election. I can guarantee you that in the coming election, CMF will still be voted down by the people. So, why is CMF still in MCA?!
ReplyDeleteYou know why CMF was thrown out by the voters. She knew only two sentences. 1. No comment. 2 Wait for PM decision. She really had no brain. Who would vote for her? Whoever that would put her as a candidate in the next election would be a moron.
ReplyDeleteChor is out there hopping mad and making stupid statements. Can someone in MCA shut him up.
ReplyDeleteCMF should go back to sell "Fried Bee Hoo" after being such a "lousy" leader within and outside of MCA.
ReplyDeleteCHOR & CMF..how on earth did these characters made it to the top of the upper echelon in MCA ??????????????????????????
ReplyDeletei should slap my self on the face.
There is indeed something very wrong within MCA.
ReplyDeleteIf a person as dumb and as useless as that Char Bee Hoon can sit on the top post of the Wanita MCA, something is indeed very, very wrong !
If MCA genuinely wants to change, this should be one of the things MCA needs to change ---> Ensure that only QUALITY LEADERS be elected, for the present system of "seniority" and "connectedness" has failed miserably !
Please take this as a friendly advise, from someone who wants MCA to regain its past glory.
Kalambong. There are 2 ways to go up in MCA.
ReplyDelete1. You are good and work hard
2. Have a very influential boyfriend in MCA hierarchy.
A little of 1 and a lot of 2 will shoot you up there.
Dip up the roots ( Branches ) of all MCA, you can see how rotten from roots of the 60 old trees, need rehabilitation without Yi Ma Ku Zei , Tai Gong Tai Pok , Phantom Members , Black Society Members, Outsiders even do not know where from, Copies old I/C , PR Holders etc. May be still can have hope .
ReplyDeleteThat's why OTK read so much Sun Tzu Art of War stuff. I did see him reading tactics books and the fellow really like reading.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best MCA presidents we have.
It's just that some PKFZ involve parties finance some members to kick OTK out. By Pluto
In MCA, most of the leaders whom rise up do not have brains. Majority of them only need shoe polish to polish some boots worn by the Rotten Fishhead, Ong Cutting, Chan Kong Choy etc etc. You don't know meh. Just like Kalambong said about this LTL. He is so dim that the most stupid shine brighter than him and so is Brutus Wee and Brutus(?) CMF. Can some help what is a female Brutus call?
ReplyDeleteRotten Fishhead
MCA in order to regain the lost glory must change to meet the community aspiration that is to look after the welfare of the people and fight for a fair and just cause. But many leaders in MCA are still stuck in the old mindset, they use MCA as a platform to enrich themselves, thats why those power struggle and infighting. The LTL and company cannot wait for their turn to go up, they are in a hurry and choose a short cut to the top by not only betraying OTK but MCA to achieve their aims of greed. They don't care MCA get back the lost glory or not as long as their pocket is full.
ReplyDeleteMCA member and not OTK must axe such leaders otherwise the problem shall persist and will never end. The MCA member vote these leaders in and is their responsibility to kick these people out. OTK cannot do much, otherwise he will be seen as a dictator.
So far majority of MCA people are still deep slumber, they do not wake up to reality yet. The community are more vocal in defending MCA and the righteous leaders and taking those immoral leaders to task.......
It's an old shop, with 60 years of history.
ReplyDeleteIt's no surprising that there are cracks on the wall, sink holes near the foundations for this old shop.
These problems are there, the outsiders can see it. It's the insiders (most of them anyway) who refuse to acknowledge the problems.
And in every General Meeting, the repaint that old shop. Yes, it gets a fresh coat of paint, but the problem is still there.
Everytime they repaint the old shop, the insiders got elated ! Yeah, new shop, they tell each others, but, is it really a new shop? One has to wonder.
Outsiders see the problems clearly, how come the insiders can't see it?
Oh... I see, it's not that don't see it, they don't want to see the problem !
Why?
Because, for most insiders, joining MCA means kang tao, means contract, means masuk.
Big fish eats small fish, small fish eats little fish, little fish eats shrimps, and what shrimps eat?
They feed on the Chinese community, that's what !!
Chinese pays the lion share of the income tax, and what we get in return?
Lies, threats, and heartaches.
While the Indons come here with MyKad, the Chinese born in Malaysia are issued red IC.
While the Malay schools sprung up like mushroom after the spring rain, Chinese school keeps closing.
While the Chinese students scores better than others, it's the others who are getting enrollment into universities !
And those shrimps? Do they care about the feeling of the Chinese community?
No !
All they care is their own kang tao, how much they gonna poket in this scheme and that...
No wonder the cracks in this 60 year old shop never get repaired.
I am an outsider, and yet, like many others, I do want MCA to change.
OTK is the fella who can change MCA.
Unlike those shrimps, OTK means what he said.
He fought for the Chinese School, and got berated by Kerismuddin in the "Gone Low" incident.
He fought for the Rakyat, and got heavily punished by Sarawak Tiong and Gang (including the FGZ WKS).
He fought for justice, and what he got? Backstabbed, by LTL.
He fought for truth, and what he got? 16 CCs demanding OTK to step down.
But I never gave up hope on OTK, I know he is a fighter, and he will fight on no matter what.
That's what I see in OTK, and that's what I see the hope for a new MCA.
This 60 year old shop must have OTK to start mending the cracks, re-stablizing the foundation, and instead of caring for kang tao, MCA must return to its roots --- the Chinese community.
MCA must work to earn back the trust and respect of the Chinese community.
With the MCA, Chinese community still lives on.
But without the Chinese community, MCA is nothing.
OTK, the road ahead is long and rocky, the task ahead gonna be very rough.
But fight on, OTK, fight on and rebuild this 60 year old shop.
Make it right, and make it shines again, OTK !
kalambong.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Well said. I hope you MCA buggers read this. I hope you MCA buggers say this prayer in every meeting. Then you will not forget.
Because of OTK, we are willing to give MCA a chance. Otherwise we will send MCA to the devil.
Justice4otk. Print Kalambong's prayer for the MCA CC meeting. Print this for MCA divisions and branches. This is a warning to MCA. MCA politicians, Say this prayer every morning and every evening. Work on it. And MCA will re-gain the Chinese community support.
ReplyDeleteMCA do not need any new blueprint. This is MCA's blueprint.
yep a blue print indeed.
ReplyDeletetape it onto their fore head.
i know WKS has got a big forehead.
well said kalambong, totally agreed and support.
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed to be able to present different views in this blog. To disagree and to agree has made us enlightened and widened our perspectives thus opening us to various options to solve the predicament faced by MCA. It is most heartening to see Datuk Seri and Datuk Seri Chua putting aside your differences after the ill-fated 10.10.10 EGM to forge a formidable team subscribing to the GUP to salvage the battered MCA. As promised and seen, GUP has been inclusive thus there is no logical reason for LTL, WKS and CMF to reject it. Sub Article 9.3 reads:- “he agrees and undertakes to observe all the rules, regulations, bye-laws and conditions applicable from time to time to such membership, to abide by this Constitution and to adhere to the programmes, principles and policies of the Party.” GUP clearly falls into this Sub Article 9.4 which means failure to adhere to it shall invite disciplinary action. And also refer to Article 124 (Part XV – Party Discipline)
ReplyDeleteIt is a futile effort to go against the aspiration of the MCA members and Malaysians who want to see a united and effective MCA and they should realize that their indiscipline conduct to drag the party to the court has a very destructive implication. Refer to the Party Constitution Articles 174 and 175 pertaining to court of law suffice to deter them.
It is a disgrace for some top party leaders to breach the Party Constitution as if they have not read the Constitution or could not understand it or have not even seen one!!!
LTL, WKS and CMF must reciprocate the olive branch extended by the very magnanimous President and Deputy President to unite to walk together the thorny and uneven journey serving the people. The President should summon LTL, WKS and CMF to state their offical stand pertaining to the party problems. No one is perfect. To alter our attitude and mindset at different time or place for the betterment of the majority is actually very honourable. If the call by various country’s statesmen from within and outside MCA to LTL, WKS and CMF still fall on their deaf ears, MAY GOD SAVE THEM.
Ruth Smeltzer writes:
“Some measure their lives by days and years,
Others by heart throbs, passions and tears,
But the surest measure under the sun,
Is what in your lifetime for others you have done.”
OTK, you will last till this term only. CSL will go after you since your supports has been weaken when Liow turn his back on you for whatever reasons. You will be easier to deal with.
ReplyDeleteDear Justice For All,
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard the sound of one hand clapping?
No?
Why then you still believe in the olive branch approach when the FGZs are not interested in peacefully resolving everything?
well done , Datuk Seri OTK....i will give MCA a chance because of you.
ReplyDeleteTo be frank, I once told my wife that I will vote MCA out in the coming GE after the result of EGM on 10-10 recently.
