DPM: Umno may have to

take on MCA’s role

ROME: Umno may take on the role of helping the Chinese community if MCA continues to be embroiled in crisis, said its deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Deputy Prime Minister said it would not be right for Umno to play the role of the MCA in trying to bring in the support of the Chinese community to Barisan Nasional, but that the coalition could not afford to lose its link with the Chinese.

“But if MCA is in such a state, obviously the Chinese community would not be happy and we don’t want them to abandon the Barisan.

“So, maybe there is no other recourse but for Umno to play that role for the time being to assist them,” he said when commenting on the reshuffle of the MCA presidential council.

Muhyiddin, who is here to attend the World Summit on Food Security, expressed disappointment over the latest development in the MCA, saying that Barisan was worried it would further erode the Chinese community’s support for the party.

Muhyiddin said it would be difficult for Barisan to win the support of the Chinese if the party continued to face a political crisis.

“If I were a Chinese, I would also not support the MCA.

“Let’s face the facts,” he said, adding that his statement might be taken as harsh but that was the reality of the current situation.

DPM wrongly Misquoted

The above statement by DPM I think was wronly quoted by the reporters . I think he was trying to say , " If I were a Chinese , I would also not support the MCA trio who refuse to accept the GUP" . or probably this , " If I were a Chinese I would not support the trouble makers within the MCA . reading from a written script .

I am also seriously considering NOT supporting and voting for UMNO .

Mr President , Datuk Seri , if you are reading this article , my message to you is in the picture above .

  3. Don't get too concern on this kind of remarks, both najib and muyiddin know too well that both OTK and CSL enjoy great supports without and outside mca and any attempt to do otherwise mean they are rocking the boat of BN and wanted it to sink in the next GE. In fact, it is not because people are not going to vote for MCA but rather people may not be voting for BN and Umno as a whole if things do not improve...there are countless things that need to resolve but the govt takes it so long and so slow to response. Don't push the blame to mca to eat the dead cat. Most case are where mca is dragged down by the shortfall of umno rather since both are on the same ship.

It is a great moment to see the punishment befell on these crooks but let us not celebrate too early as there are few more important things to do:-

    1. Romove the FGZ from MCA cc. Even both CMF and WKS can be removed, just cucuk their respective wings to initiate a revolt. For Wanita, Heng Siak Kie and tan ching liang can take charge and for youth, Loh Qiu June and mah han soon can take care. Eventually both need to be chucked out of cc and later out of mca.

    2. Restructure the chinese media in malaysia and disintegrate the disgusted monopoly of sin chew tiong who owns sinchew, nanyang, gwangmin, china press, hao wei weekly tablid etc etc etc......this has to be broken. In the process, remember evil figures such as sinchew tiong, latuk lowcc(Sinchew tiong's right hand man who brainchild many of the chinese papers deals with Ong Ka Ting), rita sim, misai tay and a few more hidden hands.

    3. PKFZ tiong - once the proof and information are solid, refer to the authorities to take actions. If no actions, write to Transparency International, United Nations, Bar Council, etc to highlight and make public, no cover up whatsoever.

    4. To finish off the remnants of Ong Ka Ting, Ong Ka Chua, Ling Liong Sik, Chan Kong Choy who have plaqued MCA for far too long.

    5. To witch hunt UMNO mps who ridiculed chinese and mca leaders openly without basis and facts ie abdul aziz, bung mokhtar, etc. Put these few rascals under magnifying glass and you will find many pleasant surprises...then publish them in the blogs to get them in.

  4. I envy the 3 stooges.

I pray to my God, pray very very hard, and once a while, --- yeah, only once a long while, --- my God grants me the wish.

Those 3 stooges? 2 of them cried and Here Cometh Their God !!

Just a serious note --- if arm no interfere into MCA's business in any way, or form, for whatever reason, the Chinese community will not like it, and MCA may have to face the consequence in the coming GE.

It is disheartening to hear our BN leaders speaking without knowing the real situation or being judgmental due to certain unknown reasons. For goodness sake we do not want the repetition of Sri Gading, just bombarding away.

Can't you see that LTL and company have been creating havoc withing and outside MCA. They are at the destructive mode now. Nothing the MCA does is correct. They should toe the line and help MCA to unite, heal and serve through GUP. Please do not deceive yourselces that minority is actually MAJORITY.

Be fair to the majority MCA members and the Chinese community at large.

  6. To be fair, what Muhyddin said has elements of truth in it. I am not blinded by MCAness as I am not a MCA member nor MCA supporter. I do not care about MCA. If MCA cannot get it house in order, be it killing the scumbags or giving MCA to the scumbags, no one will bother about MCA. People will not vote BN. Period. BN ie UMNO will have to reach out to the Chinese community.

UMNO is trying to work with the devil they knows. If they cannot, they will find a new devil.

Pulling the feathers one by one takes a lot of effort. It is better to bit the bullet and take out the big knife and do one slaughter, once and for all. It is better for all, including the scumbags.

    More attacks...

    By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — Former MCA secretary-general Datuk Ong Ka Chuan said he was saddened by the “catastrophic” decision made by party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat.

Tee Keat yesterday dropped his Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong, Wanita chief Datuk Paduka Chew Mei Fun and seven others aligned to vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai from the party’s presidential council.

Tee Keat 's decision to drop Liow's supporters has plunged the party deeper into crisis with a disputed EGM looming.

The party president replaced Liow's men on the presidential council with supporters of Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, reflecting a deal between the two men to fill party appointments with leaders aligned either with Ong or Dr Chua.

Ka Chuan believes that the MCA must resolve its own problems but admitted that the current crisis is beyond the party’s control.

“I feel very sad over this situation. The party's dignity and integrity is important. The day we need outsiders, Registrar of Societies and PM, to come in to mediate means very clearly we are telling the whole world we are not able to solve our problems. As for the situation now, I think it's beyond expectations, beyond control,” he told reporters in the Parliament lobby.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who has so far resisted openly intervening in the MCA leadership tussle, said today he will meet party leaders individually after describing the crisis as getting “worse” and “more serious.”

Najib said unlike Umno which was now stable, the MCA does not instil confidence and is hampering Barisan Nasional's (BN) efforts to resuscitate the coalition and to reform its image in the eyes of the public.

Ka Chuan is also afraid Malaysians will have a poor perception of MCA because political parties are supposed to serve the public and not the other way.

“We are a political party... we are supposed to serve the people... now you need people to serve you so what is the perception you are going to portray,” he added.

He hoped the party leadership would address the crisis as soon as possible and not disappoint the grassroots.

“It is not too late, we can still rectify and prove to the people that we sincerely want to resolve our problem. Don't let this thing drag on and become more complicated,” he said.

He stressed that he does not favour any faction but only supports the spirit of the party’s constitution.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — MCA Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong was shocked when he received a text message from the party’s information and communication chief inviting him and Wanita chief Datuk Paduka Chew Mei Fun to the presidential council.

Wee slammed Senator Heng Seai Kie for the invitation and explained that under the party’s constitution both Wanita and Youth chiefs are part of the council.

“We are not appointed members. What was said by Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister Senator Heng Seai Kie is rubbish.

“This is an insult to the party’s constitution,” he told reporters during a press conference in Parliament.

The party constitution states that the national chairman of the Youth and Wanita sections will automatically become vice-presidents of the party and the presidential council shall consist of one or more vice-presidents. The SMS said there was still one more seat in the presidential council but the two will have to fight for it.

“If you don’t respect Wee Ka Siong, if you don’t respect Chew Mei Fun, never mind. But you must respect the chair of the Youth and Wanita chiefs.

"If the SMS says that we both have to fight for one place, then that is not correct because we are under the category of the six vice-presidents. The reality is that the president did not want to elect the Youth and Wanita chiefs,” he said.

Wee revealed that he has been receiving hundreds of encouraging SMSes and is thankful to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak but was cautious when using the word "intervention".

“In this matter, it is not about Umno interfering in MCA. We have to be clear about it but as the PM and BN chairman, he has watched the latest developments in MCA and the time has come to call all quarters to discuss.

“The GUP (greater unity plan) appears not to be accepted by the community and with the removal yesterday, it shows this is not unity but a removal to allow one bloc to have full control of the party.

“This is not a healthy development and Datuk Seri Najib is worried, as BN chairman."

Najib, who has so far resisted openly intervening in the MCA leadership tussle, said today he will meet party leaders individually after describing the crisis as getting “worse” and “more serious”.

Naib said unlike Umno which was now stable, MCA does not instil confidence and was hampering Barisan Nasional's (BN) efforts to resuscitate the coalition and to reforms its image in the eyes of the public.

Wee also stressed that MCA can resolve its own problem but was saddened that the party leadership is trying to block the proposed EGM.

“The party has its own channels to resolve the problem but do the current leaders want to comply with the EGM results and will the second EGM be accepted or rejected by the leadership? We have our internal channels in the party but will the leaders be selective in deciding on this matter?” Wee asked.

MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat yesterday dropped Wee, Chew and seven others aligned to vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai from the party’s presidential council.

Ong's decision to drop Liow's supporters has plunged the party deeper into crisis with a disputed EGM looming.

The party president replaced Liow's men on the presidential council with supporters of Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, reflecting a deal between the two men to fill party appointments with leaders aligned either with Ong or Dr Chua.

Later, Wee told the Chinese press that he was saddened because he once admired Ong.

“Yesterday was the saddest day in my years with MCA because a leader that I once admired so much has turned into someone who thirsts only for power. Ong Tee Keat was once a Youth chief and claimed that he was marginalised by former president Ling Liong Sik,” he said.

He stressed that Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik never declared Ong’s EGM in 2001 unlawful.

“Democracy is dead in the party,” he said.

  9. Same la, as if all malay vote for his party.

Anyway, news has it pm is stepping in to mca's problem. I thot he said he will only involved if invited?

Since malaysia just shown up worse on the list as being more corrupt then before. He should be very busy to reform the government, why so free and interfere with this. MCA is on the way to reshape the party, so why simply interfere. Eventually I hope there is no
dictation who should stay and who should go.

If there is a small group who doesn't like the company policy, should the boss be fired?

It's so clear now whenever OTK wanted to do something, there's so many obstacles.

    Nov 19, PUTRAJAYA
When asked if he will push on with the EGM on Nov 28 to propose fresh party elections despite the party central committee voting against it, Datuk Seri Liow answered that the central committee had no constitutional right to stop the EGM.

With due respect, Datuk Seri Liow, why can't you understand that the resolutions are unconstitutional thus rendering the EGM unconstitutional. The minority in accordance to the Party Constitution is not allowed to bulldoze its way. There are always legitimate procedures and rules to observe.

Once a precedence is set, there will be egm after egm as only 1/3 of the CCMs can requisition for an EGM. For the sake of those innocent central delegates who may be pressured to attend by certain unseen forces, just call it off. Displinary actions can be taken against those who attend the illegal assembly. Be a responsible Vice President of MCA not to drag those innocent souls apeka and achiuma into the fray.

Sub-Article 9.3 reads: "he agrees and undertakes to observe all the rules, regulations, bye-laws and conditons applicable from time to time to such membership, to abide by this Constitution and to adhere to the programmes, principles and policies of the Party."

Just tell the whole world what is wrong with the GUP. You, WKS and CMF were invited but you all sarcastically turned down the invitation. Now you turn around to say that GUP is supposed to be inclusive. OTK has been very patient, Samy Velu would have used the BIG ROTAN to sack you.

  12. Yesterday I asked these qtns (just for the sake of argument/academic debate:

"(1) Is it correct to say that the first part of the said Article makes it "automatic" for the President/Deputy President/One VP or more/Sec-Gen/Tresurer-Gen/Organising Sec to be members of the President Council?

    (2) Is it correct that the President has ABSOLUTE DISCRETION only over the appointment of 10 "other members"?"

Today, the news as posted by MCA Watcher above mentioned that WKA was of the view his membership in the Presidential Council is "automatic".

I know we support wholeheartedly our President, for several reasons/factors, and we reject/condemn the FGZs for attempting to destroy the party and/or throwing the party to the DOGS....

But it is interesting for us to also study the party Constitution so that we know what is constitutional and what is unconstitutional....

    LoyarBeruk.

  13. Dear LoyarBeruk,

Technically CMF and WKS are _still_ members of the "Presidential Council", the only thing that has changed is the status of their membership --- from "Full" to "by invitation only".

So... by law or whatever definition, CMF and WKS have nothing to complain about.

Just like OTK has stated, the Presidential Council hasn't sacked either of them.

"When asked if he will push on with the EGM on Nov 28 to propose fresh party elections despite the party central committee voting against it, Datuk Seri Liow answered that the central committee had no constitutional right to stop the EGM...."

BINGO! Of course Liow liao liao, you are CORRECT on this.

CC where got 'right' to stop your 1128 EGM if you recalcitrantly want to proceed?

But Liow you forgot that it is the MCA CONSTITUTION which declares that your 1128 EGM is UNCONSTITUTIONAL....

CC may make that declaration on behalf of the Constitution....If you don't believe it and/or refuse to accept the CC decision, you are at liberty to seeks ROS' declaration..., and ROS's decision is final & conclusive....

REMINDER: No court action is allowed hah!

It appears that HEAD or TAIL, you are stil liao-liaolah....

  15. Brader KALAMBONG,

In practice, those persons who are invited to a council's meeting are known as "OBSERVERS".

They cannot be termed/treated as "MEMBERS" of the Presidential Council like Tan Chai Ho, Lee Chee Liong etc.

Did OTK regret his "reshuffle" ( of WKA & CMF) ? Otherwise, why the need for Senator Hing to text them that they "may" attend the Presidential Council's meeting "by invitation only"?

Last time rakyat laughed at the flip-flop Pak Lah the PM.

Our President needs to be cautious on future action(s). He must be firm and accurate. Otherwise history may make fun of him, man!

No matter it's by "invitation" or by "default", those attend the meeting of the Presidential Council are members.

    Don't believe me?

Can I attend the meeting, let's say I'm invited, can I?

    Of course not !

I am not a member, period.

Even if they invite me to the meeting (Sun rises from the West!) I still can not attend, simply because I have absolutely NO business in it !

Thus, whether it be "observer" or "participant" or whatnot, CMF and WKS are still members of the Presidential Council.

    They just cried for nothing.

  20. BCM,

I highly doubt your words will come true.

From what I know, OTK & CSL is at the symbiosis of each other.

So i do not think CSL is so stupid to challenge OTK. In matter of fact, I believe he will fully support OTK as he promised, unconditionally.

All may argue that, not unconditionally, CSL got his Johor Base and son into the CC.

But I think, other then OTK himself, I think next best in line should be CSL to lead Johor. No one will question CSL to lead Johor.
Only people with evil intention will want to bring up DVD and THE PAST to USIK CSL.

As far as i know, CSL & OTK has a strong bond currently.
