Over to You Liow

Just say you want to be president, Ong tells No 2

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — An embattled Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat lashed out at his new deputy, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and his supporters for asking to have another extraordinary general meeting on holding fresh party elections, and questioning a proposed unity plan for the divided MCA.

In a blog posting today, the MCA president said that if Liow wants to be president, he should say so directly.

“If the newly-elected deputy president wants me to resign so that he could ascend to the presidency, I believe he should make his stand very clear,” Ong wrote bluntly in his blog, www.ongteekeat.net, which has become his main mouthpiece since the crisis erupted.

“We don’t solve problems by beating around the bush,” he said, adding Liow and his supporters had harped on the need to respect the results of the Oct 10 EGM where a vote of no-confidence was moved against Ong.

Some speculate the call for fresh party polls is meant to bolster Liow’s position.

“That clearly means they want me to resign. In the same breath, they claimed they are not forcing me to resign. I, not to mention the general public, personally find their approach very confusing.”

That Ong has been making his displeasure with Liow and his supporters clear via his blog is an indication of the level of strain and distrust between the president and his erstwhile supporters such as Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong and Datuk Wong Siong Hwee.

Central committee members aligned to Liow did an about-turn yesterday over their initial opposition to an EGM to call for fresh polls, as first suggested by Ong.

They had also claimed that central committee members had been kept in the dark over the unity plan, a claim Ong has dismissed.

Some observers, such as Datuk Theng Bok, former chairman of the “Save MCA” campaign, have questioned the sincerity of the call for fresh polls and speculate that it could be an attempt to strengthen Liow’s bargaining position.

Liow’s supporters have collected signatures from one-third of the central committee — the minimum number required to requisition for an EGM — and submitted their request to MCA secretary general Datuk Wong Foon Meng, who will have to issue an EGM notice within five days.

One of the requisitionists, Wong Nai Chee, was reported to have said that despite calling for an EGM, they will continue their signature campaign with the aim of getting two-thirds of the central committee to resign, thus automatically triggering an election.

Yes Datuk Seri you have taken the correct step to table the GUP in the CC’s meeting.
Details of ONE MALAYSIA trickled in very much later on after its proclamation by our Prime Minister. The CCs need to be patient as the details of the Greater Unity Plan (GUP) need to be meticulously drafted before being tabled at the CC meeting. Half baked cake cannot be served as some indiscipline ccs are like vultures waiting for the right moment to discredit the plan. The CCs should be conscientious in accepting the GUP as it has been said to be inclusiveness in nature focusing to unite MCA. The behaviour of certain UMNO MPs during the Parliament sitting yesterday was disgusting and would not have happened if MCA was united and strong. It is a slap to the Chinese community as MCA represents the Chinese in the BN government. I implore the MCA leaders to come to your senses and leave your ego and self interest behind and move on.
Yes, the results of the EGM were very conclusive in the sense that both OTK and CLS command the support of about 96% of the central delegates, who have been very magnanimous to let bygones be bygones to subscribe to the GUP for the sake of MCA and the DIGNITY of the Chinese community. As the EGM was held in accordance to the Constitution therefore the Party Constitution being supreme should be upheld by everyone. Article 35 is not difficult to be understood. When referring to the results we have to take into consideration events pre, during and post EGM. The EGM was no longer held on a level playing field thus whatever pledges made had been nullified.
Could anyone please divulge the logical and rational reasons to have the president replaced?
Leaders of MCA Youth and Wanita wake up and contribute to the stability of the party. The Chinese community and MCA members have been very patient but it has its limit too.

Yes this MP is another BN MP from Sarawak ! Am I correct ? or Sabah ? He is also the Deputy of the BBC , in other words he is Tiong's Deputy . You can expect him to talk like a Barbarian or a Ruffian or like you say Tiong's mouth piece . Tiong is quiet in Parliament , probably been ask to keep his mouth zipped , so the talking has to be done by the one who goes to the BN ATM Machine every month for subsidy . He has to do his work , you know people just don't pay you for doing nothing . Anyway this guy has been very controversial , talking nots , cock and bull story , and famous for his sexist remark on monthly leakage by woman when ask to comment on the leakage in Parliament .

"As the EGM was held in accordance to the Constitution therefore the Party Constitution being supreme should be upheld by everyone.'

That is about all there is to say , unless our Dr Brutus , thinks otherwise since he is an expert on the environment , should send him to a law school for rehabilitation as he is very ignorant of the Party Constitution and is constantly harping on the EGM's results . I think he has PIG Brain and pig shit instead of brain matter .

An advise to OTK: Remove all the appointed CCs, including that FGZ Chor.

It is time we go hentam those FGZs. We can not let them continue this lousy game anymore.

  8. Datuk Seri Ong

Do you need to appoint your Youth Chief to become a Deputy Minister ? You NEED NOT and neither so you HAVE TO , and so are the rest of the other Youth MPs .

UMNO is an example where their YOUTH CHIEF KHAIRY does NOT hold any position in the Government .

Please remove this Brutus Wee as a Dep Minister and also Wee Jack Seng .

  9. Go for fresh election. All these buggers who are calling for EGM are thinking OTK is afraid.
They are using this to bargain. I think OTK should call their bluff. He should ask for fresh election. He should dissolve the CC. Start again.

  11. Please sack the Wee Pig! I think he is egoistic and causing discruption to MCA unity. He is a f*cking crony of Tiong. MCA should not allow this kind of dangerous leader to take the MCA helm in the future.

  12. If OTK steps down, MCA will be a hopeless people party!

  13. Yupe, it's a party of triads and gangsters over the years. That's why we have cases like PKFZ and Teoh Beng Hock. What can we do? succumb to political bullies and cronies who are mainly a bunch of triads and gangster. OTK is the only MCA leader who dares to stand out against them. He should be given full support by the people. He is merely doing the right things on behalf of the poople, nothing more.

  14. Look at the Mafia from Sarawak , speaking in Parliament , asking OTK to step down . That is a fcuking bastard from Sarawak , Land of the Vultures , not Hornbills .

  15. Here we have the president patching up the holes of the ship to prevent it from sinking , while we have the bunch of 16 monkeys drilling holes to have the ship sink faster .

  16. It seems like people must choose a ship with less holes. BN ships sink faster because its crews carry too many bagages of dark golds on board.
