I won't call it quits, says Ong

The word 'retire' doesn't figure in former MCA president Ong Tee Keat's extensive vocabulary that stretches to fluency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia.

NONE“(Retiring has) never crossed my mind... Removal (from public office) is not synonymous with retiring,” he said in a recent interview.

Ong, 54, who was unceremoniously defeated as MCA president in March and then replaced as transport minister, said there are many platforms via which he can still serve, with or without posts.

As the MP for Pandan in Kuala Lumpur, he does not intend to confine his role in Parliament to one of lengthy debate .

“As many would know, sometimes it can get sickening in Parliament. At times I call it a sheer waste of public funds,” he said.

“My focus remains on my commitment to human capital development, as well as social development. Under these two broad headings, there are many more sub-headings.”

Ong's biggest wish

Ong listed his Hope programme - which gives a second chance to those who do not qualify for admission into public universities - as among his many projects.

mca re-election nomination 220310 ong tee keatHe is also working closely with NGOs to push for youth empowerment, and has plans to expand the operations of his mobile clinic beyond the borders of his constituency.

But Ong's biggest wish is to get back to his first passion - creative writing - as he recalled his first article written in Mandarin when he was a 16-year-old in 1972.

He wrote quite a bit, producing television and radio drama scripts to essays, political commentaries, and even translating his own work to English or Bahasa Malaysia.

“It is all a matter of time management, but if I could, I'd like to get back to writing. It's really one of my passions,” he said.

  1. One day MCA will regret that they chose a blatant liar, distinctly selfish and a irrefutable shameless tainted person as their president.

The day will come that they crawl and on their knee to beg Tee Keat for forgiveness and invite him helm MCA again....I love to see Tee Keat show them the finger.

Tee Keat should not stay on in that hopeless MCA, either form a new party or stand as an independence in the 13GE.

  2. DAP is very happy that a rascal with tainted reputation sit as president of MCA, that make their job effortless. This is the reason nowadays DAP seldom attack MCA as they know that MCA lead by a blatant liar, corrupted and tainted person is self destruction.....where else when Tee Keat was the president they attached him vigorously to cause as much damage as possible to Tee Keat and MCA and the reason is Tee Keat leadership was a threat to them to win back the Chinese votes.....

Tee Keat is as good as gold to MCA and UNMO but these people are all blind to see that, what they see is only $$$.....to fill up their pockets....

I despise DAP for this obvious reason and narrow politic, instead of offering their substances and ability to win the people mind-set, they choose the issue and who to dislodge by hammering and creating doubts in their selective opponents....however opt to remind silent on CSL and Anwar's morality issues which are factual and of public interest. In fact they support Anwar very strongly and want to make him the PM....that tell me they are not righteous but hypocrites...

  3. MCA presidential council which make up of shit heads lead by a tainted president supported sport betting for the benefit of their associates and now support Mr M's crooked bridge, surely beneficial for another collaborator ...they always think crooked for $$$ thats their trait........

Dr M is always confusing people and many time contradicting himself, recently vigorously championing the NEP. I have no problems that the government help to bring up the welfare of the Malays but need to be done in a prudent approach in such a manner that the needful Malays benefit. The malays should question how and where Dr M and his family wealth come form, surely he and his family benefit considerably form NEP....... and how many Malays suffer poverty during his 22 years managing the country???.....in 22 years he did very little for the needful and now want to kick up the dust......

Here again Najib is so blind and stupid to drop Tee Keat , a proven Transport Minister to replace with a garbage....so the old man is taking advantage of Najib weaknesses in his poor foresight .....

  5. OTK why talk some more ? Kicking out the dust for opposition to attack BN only. He knows he is not going to stand again in Pandan, so there is nothing to lose. Better if the replacement candidate cannot win to prove that only OTK can win.

Watch, being outside the government, OTK is fast becoming a burden to BN, like TDM. The government is good only when he get a chance to sit inside. When he is no longer inside, nothing is good.

It is like the way this blog operates, during the time when OTK and CSL worked together under GUP, good comments and articles are posted for CSL. After CSL resigned and pave the way for fresh election, he becomes the target of character assasination.

Ai Ya, too simple a manipulation, everybody can see thro. No point continue doing the same, find something more complicated to sell and promote, please.
