Politicians call for Tiong’s resignation

Of Late there were many calls for the resignation of Tiong .

KUALA LUMPUR: Politicians have called for Bintulu MP and Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Seri Tiong to resign over the Port Klang Free Zone issue.
Selangor Gerakan Youth deputy secretary Stephen Doss said it was only right for Tiong to resign as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had wanted all ministers and MPs be appraised based on the key performance index.
“Based on the reports, he is definitely not doing the Barisan Nasional any good because the project had been developed at a huge cost which is untenable and the discrepancies did not speak well of the individuals involved including himself,” he said.
Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong said Tiong should resign if the findings of the PKFZ report showed that he was guilty.
“In any event, the police must commence investigation now. Anyone holding public office who is found to have been involved in the issue should step down so that they will not hinder police investigations,” he said.
Putera MIC coordinator P. Kamalanathan said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat should be applauded for ensuring the PKFZ issue was resolved in the interest of the people.
Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had been inefficient in investigating the PKFZ issue which had resulted in huge losses in tax payers’ monies.
Despite many reports being lodged against the PKFZ since December 2004, the MACC had found “nothing worthy of investigations and closed all files,” Pua claimed.
MIC Youth coordinator T. Mohan said the Government must be transparent and reveal the truth behind the PKFZ issue.
“MIC Youth wants the police and MACC to initiate investigations into the report lodged by the PKA as soon as possible,” he said.
President of the International Movement for a Just World Chandra Muzaffar said it was about time the MACC take over the investigations and expose those involved
