Special police unit needed for women

By CHRISTINA CHIN
sgchris@thestar.com.my

PENANG Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng wants special assault and trauma units to be established in every district of the country.

He said such a unit was necessary to deal with sexual violence.

“If we do not have enough manpower, we can always use the Special Branch officers - there are so many of them and I think we will get better value-for-money if the Special Branch was changed to a Violence and Sexual Crimes Unit.

“It would be a better use of resources,” he said, before questioning the need for the Special Branch.

Lim said the Federal Government must provide the necessary allocations to set up such units in “every district, in every state”.

“If the Federal Government can have so many Special Branch officers, why can’t they have a unit dedicated to women? This is like small boy talking cock , of all the various units like the D5 , D7 in the police force , this Small boy has to target the Special Branch . What a stupid CM with shit brains . Everyday finding fault with people , insulting people , condemning people , thinks he's smart but inactual fact a useless nincompoop !

“The police force is male dominated — what we need is a women’s perspective (when battling such crimes),” he said.

Lim was speaking at the closing of the ‘Gender Mainstreaming: Justice For All’ conference at a hotel in Tanjung Bungah on Sunday.

State Special Branch chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Datuk Rosly Abbas when contacted for comments said: “Only those who do not know history will call for the abolishment of the Special Branch”.

He said the Special Branch’s role was crucial during the communist insurgency and they had worked hard to ensure the country’s peace and security against terrorists and extremists like the Jemaah Islamiah militant group.

“The world is a dangerous place. The Special Branch will continue to remain relevant until the end of time,” he added.

Meanwhile in today's Star pageN3 , 3-8-10, it was reported that there was an alleged assault bid on Guan Eng in Komtar under the heading :

Cops probing alleged assault bid on Guan Eng in Komtar

Police investigating claims that Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was almost assaulted as he was about to head for a concert at Dewan Sri Pinang on Monday .

Apparently at about 7.50pm an unindentified man tried to slap Lim as he was about to enter his official vehicle at the level 2 vip car park in Komtar .

Lim's bodyguard and security personnal on duty nearby managed to prevent him from being slapped in the face and were able to deflect the person's hand although it was believed that the alleged offender did make contact .

When sought for comments , the CM's office refuted the claims , saying they have not heard anything of this nature . ( another way of face saving , being a CM and kena slapped in the face , lau koi ...or who knows for a man to have taken tiger's heart to slap a talk cock CM , maybe it has something more than just politics ... who knows , maybe something to do with someone's next of kin . Won't be surprised .

  3. Congratulation's to Omar Goh Wei Liang (pic above) as the unemployed Mahathirphile was voted by readers of this Blog as the Greatest BN Spinmaster. Omar Goh Wei Liang, the 'Editor' of A PIECE OF MY MIND (APOMM), also known as the 'Little Pup' got 74% of the votes beating even the likes of AIDC, Parpukari and Unspinners. Even the foul mouthed coward Chinaman from Penang, Justice4OTK could only muster 21% of the votes.

Let's hope that all these votes will translate to a job for the poor unemployed 'Little Pup'. Who knows, he might be the next Low Taek Jho.

    .........
AN OPEN LETTER TO LIM GUAN ENG WHEN HE WAS IMPRISONED BY DR.M:

    GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAY

    Dear Guan Eng,

As you languish in prison, I have had plenty of time to reflect on you and your idealism.

Rightly or wrongly, the Democratic Action Party has long tried to have a ‘Malaysian’ character when the vast majority in the country still perceive it to be essentially a political party for the ethnic Chinese.

I realize that recently people like you have tried hard to attract Malaysians, especially Malays, to make the DAP truly Malaysian, but not too successfully, in my view. Then came an explosive event- the Rahim Thamby Chik case- which made a lot of Malays sit up and change their perceptions of the DAP. That case rocked Malay society to its very foundation.

Your conduct and role in pursuit of truth in that scandal earned my deepest admiration. The series of events following that scandal, culminating in the judicial proceedings against you, have turned out to be a classic example of how a verdict in a ‘court of law’ has become subordinate to the ‘ court of public opinion’.

Ask any Malay mother anywhere. Few would agree that the famous grandmother in that scandal should have been abandoned by UMNO, and the under-aged girl should have been so blatantly violated , abused and her family silenced and does not know her rights.

By your words and deeds, you challenged the government, police, media, and the judiciary, and exposed yourself to certain incarceration and vindictive punishment by Dr. Mahathir and the political elite.

I have always believed that God works in mysterious ways.

Inexplicably, He chose you to put the DAP into sharp focus. He chose you to force Malaysians to look at themselves and reflect on the abuse of basic values in our society.

To that extent, God in His wisdom made the DAP no longer just a Chinese political party, but, overnight, into a truly Malaysian one which fights for the deprived.

I am a Malay with a family of my own. I shall remember you as a Chinese father who fought for the rights of an ignorant poor Malay grand-mother and her sexually abused grand-daughter.

I know that when you decided to take on the case, you knew the price for your action would be heavy for you and your family, personally and politically.

Today, you are still paying the price. You languish alone in prison.

Ironically, as in Nelson Mandela’s case, the longer they lock you up,the greater will be your stature, the more powerful the focus on the issues you fought for.

I also know that, all through this, you can look into the eyes of your wife, children and parents, and say, with deserved pride and honour, that ‘Guan Eng has not prostituted his dignity, decency and self-respect in the face of oppression and tyranny’.

You have truly given new meaning to the maxim, ‘Politics With Honour’.

More importantly, you have made me look in the mirror and ask, ‘Who Am I? What have I done to speak out against the evil forces which confronted two Malay kampong women? Why have I remained silent? Have I lost my decency and self-respect?’

In all honesty, I cannot say I have the guts to look into the eyes of my family members and say I have done them proud. I have kept silent.

I owe it to you, Guan Eng, for opening my eyes and stirring my conscience.

Our inaction and apathy have allowed oppression, tyranny and injustice to continue. We have to search our hearts and souls to find ways to make up for our negligence and ineptitude.

To you, Guan Eng, I offer prayers from my family. May the blessings of the Almighty continue to give you strength, courage and tenacity to do what is right and just for all Malaysians.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Narmi Saila

    Petaling Jaya,
    Selangor

  6. Pussy in mouth Ah Eng Jailed under Sedition Act

Lim was arrested by Malaysian police in 1994, following his criticism of the government's handling of allegations of statutory rape of one of his constituents by former Chief Minister of the state of Melaka, Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik. Consequently, while the Attorney General decided not to charge Rahim Thamby Chik, Lim was charged under Section 4(1) (b) of the Sedition Act 1948 for causing 'disaffection with the administration of justice in Malaysia'. Lim was also charged under Section 8A (1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 for 'maliciously printing' a pamphlet containing allegedly 'false information' because he had described the alleged rape victim as an 'imprisoned victim' because she was initially detained by Malaysian police without parental consent for 10 days. During the judicial procedure, Lim was quoted saying:
“ If I fail and have to go to jail, I have no regrets. I have no regrets of going down fighting for the principles of truth and justice. And pursuit of human rights, especially women's rights. There can be no women's rights if women rape victims are considered equally responsible, and even detained, whilst the accused remain free. ”

After a series of appeals, Lim was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment. He was, however, released after 12 months on August 25, 1999 after his father the slant eyed Lim Kit Siang weht to meet up with the then PM Mahathir and kow tow to him several times asking for leniency which Mahathir eventually relented seeing him kow touing .

  7. In October 2009, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s admitted to turning down FDI (foreign direct investment) worth US$3bil (RM10.18bil) due to his inability to guarantee finding 1,000 engineers. The ruling coalition termed this to be a shocking news, "Mother of ALL Blunders"

  10. In barely 24-hours, MCA has backed down on its call for the federal government to rescind its ban on the use of the term 'Allah' by non-Muslims, following a reprimand by acting Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

UMNO wags its tail and the the running dogs of MCA bends down to smell the south end of the north bound top dog of BN. Why don't you just come out and admit you are scared of UMNO or the fact that you might lose your precious and lucrative ministerial positions? No frigging integrity. The scorn and shame of the Chinese people in Malaysia. Your compatriot dogs in Gerakan at least know how to shut their gap and crawl into a corner and hide on this issue. All the Chinese people in the country will spit on your ancestors' graves for what you have become.

MCA dont ever say you represent the Malaysian Chinese, it stinks, its you MCA dont have balls, sell off the Chinese to fill your stinking pockets.... MCA pls get lost, Malaysia Chinese wont miss u.
