DAP’s New Slogan - PIG, No More CAT

Two legs good: 10month old pig Zhu Jianqiang survived against the odds and has now become famous in China

Wednesday, 20 October 2010 16:24
By Terrence Fernandez

DAP used to boast of their slogan, Competency, Accountability and Transparency (CAT) because they believe that the rakyat see Barisan Nasional as the opposite.

After getting the mandate to rule Penang directly, and Selangor, indirectly, what the rakyat see is that the CAT slogan doesn’t even come close to define DAP. A ‘cat’ is a cute, cuddly little faithful companion and there’s just nothing cute, cuddly or faithful about DAP.

You can’t be friends with DAP, even after you have cuddled them in your arms like what Hadi Awang did.

Unless you are a Chinese, you can’t be a friend to DAP, you can only be their employee, their worker, their slave or their dog. If you chose to co-operate with DAP, you must first understand that by co-operating with them means you have to obey them.

If you chose to work with them you must expect to be back-stabbed, conned, discriminated or abused by them.

DAP will only give you a better position in the collaboration if you are deemed fit to be their puppet or if they perceive you as a natural traitor to your own race.

Like I said, there is nothing cute or cuddly or faithful about DAP, in fact, they are absolutely the opposite. Everything about DAP spells racist, chauvinist, selfish and egoist.

Because of these traits, DAP is incapable of tolerance, respect, compassion and sincerity. These then lead them to being incompetence, unaccountable and biased leaders.

Penang has the ‘opportunity’ to see the true colours of DAP first hand.

Barely 2 years after their taking over Penang, DAP didn’t think twice to demolish Kg. Buah Pala, Kg. Jalan Pokok Asam and Malay hawkers sites. DAP strategically destroys everything that spells non-Chinese in Penang and force them to move out from the island.

This is done by building high-cost housing or commercial property projects on the newly demolished sites to ensure that the low-middle income non-Chinese could never afford to own them.

Most recently, member of Penang City Council (MPPP) was reported to have used the service of a prostitute during the council’s official visit to Singapore. Another two officers were said to have spent time in night-clubs there. DAP couldn’t bare the shame and decided to do what they do best: use force to shut up the newspaper that reported the incident despite their ‘transparency’ slogan and their ‘fight’ for press freedom. The newspaper was forced to apologize and withdrew the article almost immediately.

DAP is also very synonym to gangsterism, especially in Selangor whereby an Exco member is said to have linked to underground mobs and own several night-clubs and ‘spas’. This resulted in the rise of immoral activities and crime in the state.

The problems of corruption then automatically become more severe as these mobsters and gangsters’ activities got entangled with the political game in the state.

Should DAP ruled the country, we can be sure that we would see more crime, oppression and no freedom of speech except for the Chinese, perhaps.

Malaysia wouldn’t be a prosperous, harmonious country anymore. Leadership like DAP would only fill the country with anger, dissatisfaction, sadness, fear and hatred. Even the Chinese wouldn’t be able to live their luxurious lives peacefully under DAP’s ruling.

Since DAP has gone way out of their own slogan, CAT, we would like to suggest the party to change its slogan to fit their true colours.

DAP’s new slogan should be PIG (Prejudice, Incompetence and Gangsterism).

PIG would be a more suitable slogan to fit their character. Pig as an animal despised. It’s dirty, stinky and caused a lot of diseases.

Even a pork-eater would refer their most hated person as a ‘pig’ just to discredit and insult the person. This confirms that a pig is the lowest animal on the planet. Funny that even a racist Chinese would call a Malay pig, just to show his hatred towards the Malay, despite his love towards pork. Sounds like a ‘love-hate’ situation eh? Irony, isn’t it?

'Guan Eng is king of liars'

Liars ? more like King of Bullshitters !

By G Vinod

KUALA LUMPUR: A Penang Umno delegate criticised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for discriminating against Malays in the state, calling him “king of liars”.

Debating on Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin's speech at the party's annual general assembly, Aziaan Ariffin, who is Balik Pulau Umno Youth chief, said this was proven when Lim acquired a 270-acre land in Balik Pulau for development purposes.

“He said it was to build educational institutions. My question is, why take land from Balik Pulau which is the last bastion of the Penang Malays in the island?” asked Aziaan.

On Oct 16, Lim came under fire from Penang Umno Youth when the state government started acquiring the plots at Balik Pulau for two universities.

Aziaan also claimed that the state was acquiring the plots in Pondok Upeh and Kampung Genting for RM8 per square feet when the market price was RM18 psf.

However, Lim dismissed the allegation, saying the rate was in accordance with the amount proposed by the National Valuation Department, a federal government agency.

Lim also claimed the land acquisition was carried out by the federal government itself, and not the state, in 2009 under Section 8 of the Land Acquisition Act 1960.

Aziaan said that Lim also demolished stalls belonging to Malays, while leaving untouched those owned by non-Bumiputeras.

“The Penang Malays are suffering under his rule,” claimed Aziaan, who alleged that Lim was unfit to rule as he is a chauvinist.

He urged the federal government to work with Penang Umno to find ways of winning back the state in the next general election.

“We need to plan for the next general election in order to wrest Penang back from the opposition. To quote an English proverb,'If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail',” he said.

Total investment for Penang now ranked No: 3 in Malaysia

Claiming credit for himself while forgetting that the Federal Govt has a hand in pursuing FDIs . If the FDI falls , we all know who he will claim is responsible ! Famous for blaming others while famous for claiming credits of others ! Hokkien say " use other people's backside for his face . Any mention by him of the Fed Govts contribution ? NONE

Penang's total investment for Penang has surged from R 1.53 billion for the first six months of the year to RM2.25 billion as at July 2010. In other words, for the month of July alone, there was an increase of RM716 million of investment or an increase of nearly 50% in one month as compared to the total investments for the first six months of the year. Penang's performance for the first 7 months until July 2010 of RM2.25 billion is higher than the RM2.17 billion achieved for the whole of 2009.

Total investment for Penang now ranked No: 3 in Malaysia, with RM 2.25 billion, an Increase Of RM 717 million or nearly 50% in a month, compared to 2010 1st half of RM1.5 billion

This is based on the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) website today at www.mida.gov.my. Based on the latest MIDA statistics for proposed capital investments in Malaysia, Penang has been successful in securing RM2.25 Billion for the period of January till July 2010. Of this amount, RM738 million was secured from domestic investments while RM1.51 billion of foreign investments were secured.

With this latest investment figure, Penang is now ranked No: 3 behind Johor and Selangor in terms of Malaysia’s proposed capital investments.

This compares to Penang's position as at June 2010 when Penang was ranked No: 5 at RM1.53 billion. The Penang state government records its appreciation to the relevant state agencies such as InvestPenang, Penang Development Corporation, both the local councils and federal agencies such as MIDA that have played a role in ensuring that Penang remains competitive.

Investors continue to make Penang their choice of location for investment due to seven key factors:

1. Ready availability of skilled human talent
2. Effective and efficient supply chain management
3. Competent and reliable logistics and communications hub
4. Strong Intellectual Property Protection
5. Good Governance and effective government leadership
6. Building creativity and innovation in science and technology
7. Livable and intelligent city

Despite this encouraging improvement, Penang is still half way from this year's target of RM4.2 billion. The state government will gain motivation from this latest performance to redouble our efforts to achieve our target of RM4.2 billion for 2010 which is double last year's investment figures of RM 2.1 billion.

100 youths stage protest as Guan Eng returns from Australia

GEORGE TOWN (Bernama) - About 100 youths staged a protest against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng shortly after his arrival from Australia at the Penang International Airport here tonight.

Calling themselves “Pemuda Pulau Pinang”, they gathered outside the airport at 8.35pm carrying placards condemning him for the state government’s action of giving compassionate financial aid to Muslim senior citizens from money they alleged was earned from gambling sources, which is not permitted by Islam.

Some of the recipients have since returned the RM100 that was given to them.

Lim, who had made a working visit to Adelaide, was seen walking to his car without acknowledging the protestors. – Bernama

Guan Eng: Make public bridge fire investigation

Guan Eng , make public dragon boat tradgedy investigation !

The Penang government wants the investigation into the TNB power cables that caused the Penang Bridge fire to be made public.

It says that TNB must ensure that such incidents are not repeated, and wants all relevant agencies to fully review their contingency plans to alleviate traffic problems when such emergencies arise.

NONEPenang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (right), who is overseas in China, expressed deep concern about the incident which happened yesterday morning on the second day of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays.

Three power cables under the bridge had caught fire causing massive traffic jams stretching several kilometres on both sides of the bridge.

According to the chief minister, Penang police chief Ayub Yaakob had also assured him that the cause of the fire was suspected overheating of the TNB power cables and had ruled out foul play.

Lim in a statement issued by his press secretary today said he appreciated the efforts of state public works, utilities and transportation committee chairman Lim Hock Seng in managing the situation, and of TNB' swift response to restore power supply within five minutes via an alternative power source.

Hock Seng told AFP yesterday that the fire started under the 13.5-kilometre bridge caught fire at 10.40am, causing one of the bridge's three lanes to be shut, delaying revellers travelling to meet friends and relatives.

penang bridge is burning"There is a lot of black smoke coming from under the bridge as the cable is still burning and is not accessible from the top side, so we are waiting for fireboats to arrive and put out the flames," he said at the time.

The public works chairman added that the fire did not pose any structural danger to the.bridge and that it was still safe for traffic.

Lim also said that the four kilometre-long traffic congestion on either side of the bridge was caused by motorists stopping to look at the fire and the firefighting operations, while officials urged the vehicles to move on.

Repairs to cost over RM5 mil

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that TNB chief executive officer and president Che Khalib Mohamad Noh visited the site of the incident this evening.

Che Khalib said TNB has yet to identify the cause of the fire and that the result of the nvestigation would be made known to the public soon.

He told Bernama that the repair costs is expected to be more than RM5 million, and includes the installation of new cables.

He assured that repair work will only be carried out between midnight and 5am, to avoid traffic congestion.

""We can assure that there will not be any interruption of electricity supply ollowing the high voltage cable fire...and we apologize to
our customers who were affected," he said.

The TNB chief also ssured that there will be enough electricity supply to Penang, especially for the industrial sector, as its source of supply comes from several sources outside Seberang Perai, as well as from the Gelugor and Juru power stations.

Guan Eng ,

If you have nothing else to say , please shut up and glue your mouth . Cables do get burnt , they don't last forever . You have better and more importantsthings to do , rather then comment on something which TNB has already said they will make the report public . Further there was no power disruptions to consumers unlike the previous one when the whole of Penang was turned into darkness .

However , I have still three questions to ask you .

a) When is the Dragon Boat tradgedy report going to be made public ? When is a public inquiry going to be called ? Why have you not asked for the inquiry to be called ? instead of this non- issue cable burning ?

b) Why are you in Xiamen during the Hari Raya festival ? When you should be visiting your Muslim comrades and wishing them Selamat Hari Raya ? instead of enjoying a paid vacation visiting Xiamen !

c) Seems that your business VIP advisor has become so arrogant that he can even threaten the airport security personel to be removed from Penang ! Wah suddenly he has become so powerful ? Yeah I forgot he has a Tan Sri , so more powerful than a Datuk !

Guan Eng blames Muhyiddin for ‘racist’ civil service

September 06, 2010
Lim: Umno leaders should refrain from racist politics before pointing fingers to others.
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 — DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today blamed Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for failing to act on reports of racism in the civil service over the past weeks.

Lim said that the move by the Education Ministry’s Director-General Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom in issuing a circular on August 26, warning that action would be taken against those “who made racist remarks” was irrelevant as it did not address the “real problem.”

“The Education Ministry’s latest circular to warn school principals and teachers against making racist remarks is irrelevant as it fails to address the real problems. Blaming the principals and teachers is merely an act of finding a scapegoat,” said Lim in a statement today.

Lim claimed that the warning should instead be directed to Muhyiddin, the education minister, for failing to act and condoning the racist remarks made by two school principals in Kulai, Johor and Kedah recently.

“Umno leaders should refrain from racist politics before pointing fingers to others. The buck should stop at Tan Sri Muhyiddin. If Muhyiddin continues to tolerate racist behaviour among Umno leaders and members, it is not surprising that it has infected the civil service, including school principals and teachers. Stern actions must be taken to resolve this problem, said Lim.

The Penang Chief Minister said that the Education Ministry’s move in issuing a circular reflected badly on the country’s education system, adding that principals, teachers and other school staff should themselves be aware that uttering racist remarks was wrong.

“By issuing the circular, it shows that something is seriously wrong with our education system. The principals, teachers and other school staff should already know a long time ago, even on the first day on their job that uttering racist remarks is wrong, illegal and against the basic principles of their vocation. It is such a shameful situation where teachers have to be reminded that racism is both wrong and bad. What will the students think?

“We have high hopes on our school principals and teachers. They are teaching our children to be good and responsible citizens. After 53 years of Merdeka, is this our education system’s greatest achievement?” said Lim.

The Najib administration has yet to announce whether it planned to punish Johor school principal Siti Inshah Mansor for allegedly uttering racial slurs.

Muhyiddin said last weekend that the buck was now in the hands of the “enforcement authority” to decide on what form of action to take against the Johor principal.

Before that, Muhyiddin had directed Education director-general Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom to set up a task force to probe the incident.

Alimuddin had previously invited flak when he claimed shortly after the incident that it was merely a misunderstanding and had been settled between the principal and the school parents.

Siti Inshah entered the limelight recently after she allegedly told the SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman school assembly that the Chinese could go back to China and that the Indians looked like “dogs” when they wore their prayer strings.

“Muhyiddin should stop playing politics and seriously think of the impact on our multiracial country. Racism is beyond party politics; it is a cancer that can destroy all of us, regardless of one’s creed, colour and class,” said Lim.

Closure of entrances to Komtar slammed

GEORGE TOWN: The new security measures at Komtar benefits only one man – Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng – but have affected the livelihood of many traders in the building, said Penang MCA vice-chairman Tang Heap Seng.

He said the closure of five entrances into the original shopping area of Komtar including the Level 2 car park on Aug 3 had caused a drastic drop in revenue for the traders.

The measures were adopted by the company managing Komtar after a man rapped Lim on the shoulder at the car park a day earlier.

“If Lim is bothered about his safety, he should instruct the state CPO Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob to increase the number of bodyguards.

“The state should not block the way for shoppers or those who wish to patronise food outlets,” said Tang after leading three state MCA members to visit food kiosk operator Teoh Bak Seng, popularly known as “Komtar Seng”, at his flat in Batu Lanchang.

The others were New Komtar branch head Lim Cheng Hee, former Komtar assemblyman Datuk Lim Gim Soon and Komtar service centre chief co-ordinator Lim Thoon Deong.

On Tuesday, Teoh, 53, doused himself with petrol in Komtar to protest against the closure of the entrances leading to the VIP car park.

He claimed the closure had affected his livelihood by 50%.

Tang said Komtar was not only the state administrative centre but also a shopping area with hundreds of retailers, food operators and small scale businesses, adding that the state government had failed to redevelop Komtar even after promising to do so.

Human BBQ Anyone?

Human BBQ ?? Do these people ever have feelings for one's misery ? And yet they claim to be very religious and pious .

By Admin

A 53-year-old coffeeshop owner doused himself with petrol in an attempt to commit suicide outside the Komtar building here, which houses Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's office. The man, identified as Teoh Bak Seng, was upset that several doors on the second floor had been closed to prevent public access due to security reasons.
Prior to that, Teoh had staged a lone protest with placards condemning the decision.
But when police officers attempted to pacify him, the businessman doused himself with petrol, and shouted: “Saya mahu bunuh diri” (I want to kill myself).

What's really amusing here is that Teoh came with gasoline but apparently 'forgot' to bring along a match that would have satisfied the shutterbugs (see pic above) and the spectators who wanted to see a Human BBQ. One can understand the predicament Teoh is in, but the manner he went about it can only be deduced as a publicity stunt which has the signature of BN/Umno on it to discredit the Pakatan Rakyat Government of Penang.

Do you really believe that Malaysians are so sadistic that they would allow him to torch himself? Maybe, someone should have thrown him a lighter (Sorry for the punt. I just can't help it).

DAP lists promises in bid for Putrajaya

Cannot even rule Penang properly , now talking about taking over Putrajaya ? This is Cheap Skate talk cock by the Cheap Skate Minister . This Talk Cock Cheap Monyet is encouraging people to speed on the highways and roads by pledging to abolish the saman ekor (postal summons). Should people get accidents and die , just like the dragon boat incident , he will blame on the road condition and the Federal Govt . What a cheap skate moron !

To provide annual payments of RM1,000 to each senior citizen aged above 60 . Another political bribery , first he thinks he can buy votes with $100 to senior citizens in Penang , now this . Becoming damned arrogant . I hope someone will put him away in Alcatraz for good .

Free wi-fi ? More brain tumour cases ! maybe he is already suffering from it !

Clara Chooi, Malaysian Insider

PETALING JAYA, Aug 13 — The DAP has embarked on what appears to be a quest to boost its popularity ahead of the coming 13th general election, with three promises to the people should the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) capture Putrajaya.

The promises are — to abolish the saman ekor (postal summons) system, to provide annual payments of RM1,000 to each senior citizen aged above 60 and to provide free wi-fi or wireless broadband throughout Malaysia.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said that the party’s central executive committee had agreed yesterday to issue a blanket directive to all party leaders to work on publicising these three promises during all political functions.

“These are the three policy initiatives that will bring benefit to the people that we are confident will be carried out by the PR should we win Putrajaya.

“We do not just want to harp on the corrupt practices of the Barisan Nasional but we also want to talk about what we can do for the people,” he told a press conference at the party headquarters here.

Lim noted that the practice of blacklisting owners of vehicles was not only unfair but should also be declared illegal by the courts for it was in contrary to the principles of natural justice.

“We also want to provide this annual payments of RM1,000 to senior citizens as a sign of appreciation for their past contributions to the country,” he said.

He noted that the policy would merely cost the government RM2.1 billion annually.

“What is RM2.1 billion when the country squanders RM28 billion annually to corruption,” he pointed out.

The Penang chief minister also cited an article from the global weekly magazine The Economist, pointing out that even the internationally renowned magazine was agreeable to the concept of providing money for the poor.

“This is a number one capitalist economic magazine who does not believe in giving money. But it is true that if you help those in need, there is a multiplier effect. People will spend the money and this will in turn help to generate and liven up the economy,” he said.

Lim pointed out that such a policy was also implemented in Thailand.

“In Thailand, they believe that it is the responsibility of the government to give people money when they need it. They believe that if the government does not adhere to this, they should change the government,” he said.

On the third promise to provide free wi-fi to throughout the country, Lim noted that the country needed to change with the moving times.

“We must innovate and only when you do that, you are racing to the top. If not, you are racing to the bottom,” he said.

The DAP leader denied that the three promises were merely populist measures or a form of vote-buying.

“What vote-buying? We are not even having an election now. Why is it wrong to give money to the people? To the BN, giving money to themselves is not wrong but giving money to the people is,” he claimed.

He noted that Malaysia was behind for it does not adopt international practices such as attempting to empower the poor and the elderly.

Lim also claimed that the DAP’s policy suggestions had been accepted by all PR parties and would duly be implemented should the fledgling coalition wrest Putrajaya from the BN in the coming general election.

“I have spoken to the other parties and it is not a problem. In any case, it is not about objecting, only on how to implement these policies,” he said, adding that he had also spoken with PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Lim also said that the DAP, in introducing such promises, was showing its strong denial that it was anti-Malay and a communist party.

“Measures that we are taking now in Penang is to prove all these allegations wrong. We are distributing flyers to tell the people of these lies,” he said.

He said the flyers would explain the Komtar Ramadan bazaar debacle where the DAP state government was accused of banning the people from setting up stalls.

“The problem was on the money issue and how Komtar had not received the rental money from the stalls, but it turne dinto a racial one. We were also accused of being communists.

“But how can we be the communists when it is Umno who has ties with the communist party of China,” he said.

TSk, tsk, tsk, Guan Eng does it again

Sharifuddin A. Latiff, Hartal MSM

If you’ll look at Lim Guan Eng’s blog @ http://mychiefministerlimguaneng.blogspot.com/
you can see he posted his ‘Selamat Menyambut Ramadan Al-Mubarak’ message on Tuesday.

LGEblog

Ref. screenshot above. He ends his greeting with ‘Amal maaruf nahi mungkar’ (wrong!) – a phrase which has become his state government’s de facto Islamic motto.

In LGE’s own winding-up speech to the state assembly on Nov 20, 2008 (which you can read here, see point No.48), he himself admitted:

So the upshot of it is this. Back in late 2008, LGE who was posturing as more Muslim than your regular Malay guy, had already got the banners and billboards all across Penang state with the word ‘Amal makruf nahi mungkar’ misspelled (it should correctly be ‘amar makruf nahi mungkar’).

Penang Umno took him to task for it back then. You’d have thought LGE would have learned that he made a mistake.

Now, again this week, in his state greeting on Ramadhan, LGE is still trying to out-Islamize PAS and Umno combined. And guess what? He got the Islamic phrase wrong one more time.

We know that some Chinese find it difficult to roll their tongues around the letters ‘r’ and ‘l’. But distinct pronunciation aside, LGE is even having difficulty in differentiating the two alphabets in writing. Is he dyslexic or what?

Shocking Drama At Komtar Over Sealed Exits

t Teoh Bak Seng pouring petrol on himself as onlookers watch in shock during the protest by traders at Komtar yesterday.

A coffeeshop owner, incensed with the move to close five emergency exits at the second floor of Komtar for Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's personal safety, yesterday attempted to set himself ablaze after dousing petrol on his body.

The shocking incident unfolded at 3.10pm before several members of the public who had gathered in front of Maybank, Komtar to watch a protest by traders.

Teoh Bak Seng, 53, together with several other traders, had gathered in front of the bank to protest against the Komtar building management's decision to seal off the exits. They lamented how the decision had affected their livelihood as people found it difficult to access their shops.

Teoh, who owns Seng Mugs Coffee located on the second floor, said the closure of the five exits had caused him RM100 to RM200 in daily losses.

"I just want to do business peacefully. Now see what has happened. My business has been affected.

"This is Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak, not Kompleks Lim Kit Siang," said Teoh, who has been operating his coffeeshop at the tower for many years.

Teoh also showed reporters a memorandum, signed by 48 traders, which was to be handed over to Lim. The memorandum demanded that the five exits be reopened.

After speaking to reporters, Teoh, who looked despondent, was asked by a policeman to pack up and leave, but he refused to budge.

The bespectacled Teoh, with a bag slung over his shoulder, then laid down the manila cardboard posters he had brought along with him on the ground. The posters, among others, stated "Kerajaan Pulau Pinang kejam" (the Penang government is cruel).

Out of the blue, Teoh whipped out a one-litre lubricant container he had kept in his bag and poured its contents over his head, shocking all those present.

Plainclothes policemen, seeing Teoh's action, reacted quickly by subduing him before he could set himself on fire.

Teoh was then handcuffed and carried away by some 10 policemen to a beat base at the fourth floor of the building.

Teoh, who has a heart problem, passed out inside the base.

About 40 minutes later, several medical officers arrived at the beat base and stretchered Teoh off into an ambulance before he was taken to Penang Hospital.

Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Gan Kong Meng said the case had been classified as attempted suicide.

He said Teoh was not under arrest and was being treated at the hospital.

Gan urged all quarters, including the state government, to remain calm and resolve the issue in a constructive manner.

It was reported that the roller shutters and doors connecting the multi-storey car park on the second floor had been shut since last week following an incident in which an elderly man confronted Lim over issues affecting Malays in the state.

'Khalifah' Guan Eng In Yet Another Row Over Ramadan Lot Rental

v

The issue of Ramadan traders at Komtar has taken on a new twist with allegations and counter-allegations surfacing on the collection of lot rental fees.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng yesterday accused Komtar Merchant Association (KMA) vice-chairman Mohamed Ghani Abd Jiman of committing criminal breach of trust after alleging that the latter had failed to pay Penang Development Corporation (PDC) rental collected from traders.

This was immediately denied by Ghani, who went on to challenge Lim to lodge a report against him to back the allegations.

Ghani said Lim should file a report with the police and also the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if he had evidence on the alleged claims.

"He should be brave enough to personally lodge a report against me instead of slandering me in the media," Ghani said, adding he also planned to lodge a report regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, Ghani said he and several of the association members met with PDC officials yesterday and managed to get approval from the corporation's officials to allow traders to operate at Komtar's concourse area.

"We were able to sort out problems faced by the traders over the lot rental and now they can all operate their stalls there starting tomorrow," Ghani said.

He added that each operator would pay RM50 daily to the association, which would in turn hand over the money to the PDC.

The issue of traders facing difficulty in setting up stalls for the fasting month had hogged the headlines after they claimed the state government was giving them a hard time in setting up their stalls.

The traders led by Ghani staged a protest at Komtar on Monday, and also gathered there yesterday, to voice their frustrations against Lim's administration.

This is the second year running that traders intending to set up stalls during the Ramadan period have faced difficulties with the state authorities.

The matter had also captured Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's attention.

The deputy prime minister had chided Lim previously for failing to live up to his mantra of championing the rakyat's cause.

Muhyiddin said while local authorities had always created temporary sites to allow petty traders to earn extra income during the fasting month, the Penang government was making it difficult for them to earn a living.

Man attempts to torch himself outside CM's office

FMT ALERT GEORGE TOWN: A 53-year-old coffeeshop owner doused himself with petrol in an attempt to commit suicide outside the Komtar building here, which houses Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's office. The man, identified as Teoh Bak Seng, was upset that several doors on the second floor had been closed to prevent public access due to security reasons.

Speaking to reporters earlier, he said the decision had cost him a loss of RM100-RM200 per day in revenue, which was almost 50% of his daily income.

Prior to that, Teoh had staged a lone protest with placards condemning the decision.

But when police officers attempted to pacify him, the businessman doused himself with petrol, and shouted: “Saya mahu bunuh diri” (I want to kill myself).

He was then arrested and taken to the police station located on the fourth floor of the building.

The doors were closed following an incident which saw an angry villager grabbing hold of the chief minister's shoulders and berating him for not helping Malay villagers.

The incident happened when Lim, whose office is on the 28th floor, was preparing to leave the building and had gone down to the second floor, where his driver's room is located.

Something must be very wrong with the Penang Cheap Minister ! All the ghosts coming out to haunt him !
Guan Eng must heed Muslim authority on 'Allah'

Lim Guan Eng, who claims he aspires to follow in the footsteps of Caliph Umar Abdul Aziz, recently chided Chua Soi Lek on the latter's ignorance about the glories of Islam.

NONEAs Lim (right) is so knowledgeable on Islam, Malaysians would expect that he act as a bridge between the different communities. Thus his first order of priority must be to facilitate a fair and just resolution to the 'Allah' issue.

Malaysia's heads of Islam are the Agong and the Sultans. Therefore any leader emulating the Caliph Umar must pay heed to the determination of our esteemed sovereigns when seeking a solution to the 'Allah' impasse.

On Feb 12, the Conference of Rulers issued a statement on how Their Royal Highnesses were 'disappointed' (dukacita) with the translation of the word 'God' to 'Allah'.

The keeper of the royal seal said the consensus of the rulers was that if this issue was not urgently dealt with, it would pose a threat to the sanctity of Islam, and to peace and public order. The statement released by the office of the keeper of the royal seal also said the 'Allah' translation has caused confusion and dissatisfaction among the rakyat, especially those who are Muslim.

Earlier on Jan 8 in a statement issued by Istana Negara, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin said, “To ensure peace and harmony among the followers of different religions (in Malaysia), the meaning and reference to 'Allah' in the general context should conform to the description fixed by Islam because this practice has all this while been accepted by Malaysians of other faiths.”

The meaning of 'Allah' in Islam is that 'God is one', and not trinitarian.

Laws of the land

Tuanku Mizan desires his loyal subjects to live in peace and harmony. His Majesty's words are reminiscent of the phrasing of Article 3 of the federal constitution which states, “Islam is the religion of the federation, but other religions may be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation”.

seremban church door burned 110110 02The civil unrest that followed both the Christian insistence on using 'Allah' and the High Court judgment in January this year, indicated that peace and harmony were jeopardised when this particular practice of Christianity - i.e. the matter of sharing 'Allah' - had impinged on Malay-Muslim sensitivities.

Hence those who admire the sagacity of Caliph Umar (like Lim does) must lend grave thought to whether the practice of Christianity (when incorporating the use of the term 'Allah') is being conducted in a manner conducive to national peace and harmony.

Tun Mohamed Suffian Hashim in his 'Introduction to the Constitution of Malaysia' wrote under the chapter on Islam, “In every Malay state there is a Religious Council to advise the Ruler on Muslim matters, in each of the states of Malacca and Penang there is also a separate Religious Council to advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Muslim matters, and in each state in East Malaysia a separate Islamic Religious Council to advise the state government. All these councils have been established by state law.”

The state religious councils such as Jais and Mais have determined it is inadvisable for Christians to use the word 'Allah'. Since the year 1980, a total of 10 states have authorised enactments on the Control and Restriction of the Propagation of Non-Islamic Religions. These include restrictions in the use of 25 Islamic words and expressions among non-Muslims.

Religious leaders speak

There is a state mufti for each of the Malaysian states. On the 'Allah' issue, the mufti of Perak Harussani Zakaria said that whosoever (the Muslim) who allows a Christian to employ the name 'Allah' is condoning 'syirik' (committing the sin of polytheism) and may thus be deemed 'kufur' (an unbeliever).

pas muktamar 070609 harun din 02The same view was expressed by Harun Din (right), the deputy mursyidul am of PAS.

Mohd Tamyes Abd Wahid who is mufti of Selangor said, “By right, they (the Catholic Herald) ought to realise that the word 'Allah' should not be used by them as it is exclusive to Islam and refers to Tuhan yang maha esa.”

If Lim, who wishes to emulate the governance style of Caliph Umar Abdul Aziz, were to consult the rest of the state muftis in the Islamic spirit of musyawarah, he will find that none of them are in favour of Christians translating God into 'Allah'.

The National Fatwa Council, a board on which all the state muftis sit, had reiterated in May 2008 their ban on non-Muslims using 'Allah' as well as three other terms - 'Kaabah', 'Baitullah' and 'solat'.

Jamil Khir BaharomMinister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Islamic affairs Jamil Khir Baharom (right) in a press statement on Jan 2 said that his ministry would bring the case against the Catholic Herald to the Court of Appeal in their quest to defend the sanctity of Islam. The sanctity of Islam would be tarnished if Allah were to be made the same as the God(s) of other religions.

Jakim director-general Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abdul Aziz in his press statement on Jan 4 said, “Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) is of the opinion that Murphy Pakiam, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, should exercise his wisdom in not using the lafaz Allah in any of his church's publications or other printed material.”

Wan Mohamad noted that Allah does not beget and nor is He begotten.

'A holy religion'

The imam besar of Masjid Negara Syaikh Ismail Muhammad was quoted as saying, “The name of 'Allah' must not be taken in vain. This is because Islam is a holy religion; therefore stern action should be commenced against the Catholic Herald which has made a mockery of Islam”.

Ikim director-general Syed Ali Tawfik Al-Attas asserted “the argument on the right to translate a common noun God using the proper noun 'Allah' crumbles (is unacceptable); it is only correct to translate God using 'Tuhan'.

"As far as the proper name Allah is concerned, it has absolutely no plural, reflecting the notion of the one and only God whose essence absolutely excludes the purport of consisting of three distinct co-eternal persons, whether in the imagination, in actuality, or in supposition.”

Or to put it plainly, Allah cannot be Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

It is not only the above Muslim luminaries who object to Christians using 'Allah'. The Persatuan Ulama Malaysia and other Muslim bodies and Muslim NGOs are in opposition too. Likewise the sentiments of the Muslim grassroots.

The Facebook group 'Menentang penggunaan nama Allah oleh golongan bukan Islam' (Opposing the use of Allah's name by non-Muslims) has over 300,000 members. Perkasa, which got its impetus from the Allah flare-up, claims a membership of quarter of a million who are up in arms at what they consider disrespect shown to the name of Allah.

Sermon on non-tolerance

On Jan 22, the millions of Muslims attending Friday congregational prayer heard a sermon titled 'Kafir Dzimmi dan Kafir Harbi' - note, a standard text is usually read out during the Friday prayers in all the mosques throughout the country.

Excerpts from the sermon (my translation from Bahasa Malaysia):

“According to Islamic religious law, there are basically two 'status' belonging to non-Muslims, that is Kafir Harbi and Kafir Dzimmi. Briefly Kafir Harbi refers to non-Muslims involved in war who kill Muslims in the conflict zones. … Whereas Kafir Dzimmi refers to non-Muslims who reside in a Muslim country, hold citizenship, pay regular taxes and in return are given guarantees of peace by their Islamic ruler in accordance to an agreed treaty.

“The big question is whether the status of non-Muslims in our country should be classed as Kafir Harbi or Kafir Dzimmi. From the observation made by the pulpit, we find that the status of non-Muslims in this country is Dzimmi based on the principle that they adhere to and agree to 'bow' to (abide by) the social contract created under the federal constitution....

“According to the al-Quran, Muslims are required to have cordial and good relations with the Dzimmis as well as act justly towards them as long as they do not oppose or oppress Muslims or against the spread of Islam. ...

“Nonetheless, the pulpit reminds the congregation and the ummah that having good relations with the non-Muslims does not mean that we forget our responsibility to Islam. Islam has specified that in the matter of faith (iman) and piety (ibadat) there can be no compromise (tidak ada toleransi). ...

“The pulpit would like to remind the congregation that when we are pressured by certain parties to accede to their demands, we should hold fast to Islamic teachings so that we do not lose our bearings. Allah SWT commanded in Surah al-An'aam verse 153: 'Verily, this is my way leading straight: follow it; Follow not (other) paths: they will scatter you about from His path; Thus doth He command you, that ye may be righteous.'

“To end the sermon, the pulpit calls on the congregation and the ummah to be cautious with regard to agents of the Kafir Harbi and to never ever mortage our faith, our self-worth/dignity (jati diri) as Muslims, and our integrity. We must have all these in order to be able to preserve the standing of Islam in this country.

'Say: Hai orang kafir! (O ye that reject faith), I worship not that which ye worship, Not will ye worship that which I worship, And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your way, and to me mine.' (Surah Al-Kaafirun: 1-6)

Defender of the faith

On Saturday, Lim had a little spat with Chua Soi Lek where the Penang chief minister urged the MCA president to learn more about the glorious history of Islamic civilisation and Islam's immeasurable contribution to mankind.

NONELim further challenged Chua (right) to pose serious questions on the 'Allah' controversy to Umno, MCA's partner in the ruling coalition. Lim said, “These (Allah) issues appear to be not a problem with Muslim countries, but it is a problem with Umno.”

Lim is patently mistaken in his summation that it is only Umno alone which has a “problem” with Christians using Allah. As can be assessed by the many strong statements collated above, a host of Muslim religious authorities are uneasy with, and opposed to Christians using the term 'Allah', especially when some Christians insist 'your Allah is my Allah too'.

In Christianity, there is the 'Hail Mary'; Mary is Mother of God. Jesus is the Son of God. Translated into Malay, it would be quite blasphemous – Maryam ialah ibu kepada Allah; Nabi Isa adalah anak Allah.

If Jesus was the son of Mary as well as the Son of God, one would naturally be led to think there is a conjugal relationship between Jesus' two parents: hence Mary is married to God. In the context of Allah, this is absolutely sacrilegious!

Lim derided Chua for failing to understand Islam adequately. Since Lim is clearly the one more intimate with Islam, there's no need to put Chua on the spot by daring the latter to confront Umno with questions.

After all, isn't the answer staring Lim in the face? So many revered religious personages have unequivocally made their stand clear. Lim must accord the same respect to their learned opinion as he does Islam.

Hence Muslims anticipate him doing the right thing, especially since Penang under Lim's able stewardship has adopted the state slogan 'Amar maaruf nahi mungkar' (enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong).

To the Muslims, it is wrong that Christians use 'Allah'. Therefore, if Lim wishes to persist with his claim of striding in the shoes of Caliph Umar, he must prove his credentials. He can do no less.

The Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde of Guan Eng

DAP rebukes Chua over ill-conceived Islamic views

By Athi Shankar

GEORGE TOWN: The DAP today rebuked MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek for trying to pin the blame on Islam for problems faced in Muslim countries. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng called on Chua to raise serious questions on Umno’s rule pertaining to controversial issues such as use of the term “Allah” by non-Muslims and issuance of sports gambling permit.

“Don’t blame Islam for problems in Muslim countries. I think it’s not fair,” he told a press conference at the International Integrity Conference 2010 here today.

But he is insensitive to the Muslim Ramadan traders !!

'Penang insensitive to traders'

farrah@nst.com.my

KUANTAN: As local authorities create temporary trading sites to allow petty traders earn extra income during the fasting month, the Penang government is making it difficult for them to earn a livelihood.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this had raised the issue of the treatment of its people. "We thought that Penang under (Chief Minister Lim) Guang Eng would be more sensitive and concerned with the plight of the locals especially the Bumiputera traders as they do not earn much.

"He (Guan Eng) always claims to champion the rakyat but recent actions did not only cause a lot of problems for the traders but also are seen to be unfair and discriminatory."

He was asked to comment on the outcry by 27 traders who were not allowed to trade on the third floor of Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (Komtar), a temporary trading site called Bazaar Ramadan created during the fasting month.

Muhyiddin said the state government should have discussed with the affected traders who had traded there for years and listened to their plight before carrying out the action.

"If he (Guan Eng) always says that he is fair and that the state government wants to help the people, it should have considered the effect on the small traders," he said at a press conference after launching the Pahang Biodiversity-Biotechnology Strategic Plan here yesterday.

VIDEO Guan Eng slams Soi Lek, wrong to blame Islam

Hear the Chinese traitor Guan Eng bin Abdullah Lim talk . In Chinese we call them gee nor . People like these should commit hara kiri or easier chop off not their heads but their balls and their dick . Americans call them turncoats . In Malaysia we call them DAP Anjing Pariah

Guan Eng defends Muslim countries, calls Soi Lek ignorant

Guan Eng polishing UMNO's balls You make the judge how Guan Eng twists and turn .

Yoges Palaniappan, Malaysian Insider

GEORGE TOWN, August 7 — Lim Guan Eng today said he differed strongly with Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek’s portrayal of Muslim countries as backward and corrupt nations, pointing out that the MCA president should educate himself on Islamic civilisation.

Did Chua Soi Lek say all Muslim countries ? Chua said some not all . What has Islamic civilisation got to do with with some present leaders who are corrupt ? Do you agree on this point ? Even China during the reign of the Emperors were corrupt and China at that time was the greatest Non-Islamic civilisation . So again I say Guan Eng is spinning and twisting facts to the detriment of the Chinese in Malaysia . Must be polishing UMNO's and PAS's balls

The Penang chief minister said Dr Chua should educate himself in history that the civilisation of Islam was filled not just with global empires, but also with glory in art, learning, algebra and astronomy.

“Muslim countries are suffering from the same problems suffered by India and China previously,” he said today at the launch of Caliph Umar Abdul Aziz International Integrity Conference at Eastin Hotel here.

“Only when India and China were free, independent and not dominated by imperialistic powers, were they able to realise their potential and take their place in the world stage,” he added.

Dr Chua had said yesterday that some of the most corrupt countries in the world had a Muslim-majority.

He also appeared to criticise Umno as well as PAS yesterday for using religion to compete for Malay support. Dr Chua blamed this on how the country had been trapped as a “middle income” nation for more than 10 years, claiming that the competition between the two Malay-centric parties had led to some “non-progressive policies”.

Lim said today that Muslim nations could recapture their past glories like India and China, if they were allowed to be similarly unshackled like the two countries.

Later at a press conference, Lim told reporters that Dr Chua was just trying to distract the attention from the real root of the problem, which he said was Umno.

“Don’t blame it on Islam; I think that’s not fair,” he said, adding that Dr Chua should instead ask “serious questions” to Umno on issues such as sports gambling and on “kalimah Allah”.

Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was also at the press conference, agreed with Lim.

Anwar said Dr Chua “had clearly displayed ignorance and arrogance” over his remarks.

“In my mind this is unacceptable of a party leader in the coalition,” he said, adding that leaders who wish to save the country must strive to increase their knowledge.

He also said that it was important for non-Muslims to understand the contributions of the Muslim community and vice versa.

With 60% Malay majority in Malaysia , UMNO and PAS can rule and form the next federal govt , without the Chinese ( MCA , Gerakan and DAP all combined ) , are you aware of this Mr Cheap Minister ? And here you are polishing for them !

Most Chinese would agree with Chua

What did Chua actually say to create such a commotion? “When Umno and PAS use religion to strengthen their influence, we can see that some non-progressive policies are made and that the country has been trapped as a middle income nation for more than 10 years,” Chua had told an MCA convention in Kedah.

So basically, what the MCA president was saying was that because of the Umno and PAS tendency to play up religious issues to win over Malay voters, it has led to “non-progressive” policies which have resulted in the entire nation suffering the effects of economic underperformance.

Is this true? Ask any non-Malay, especially the Chinese, and don't be surprised as many as 9 out of 10 would agree - and absolutely too! Umno should commission a survey if it doesn't believe this is so.

But that’s not the point. What is most important now for Chua to note because this is what all the other Chinese in the country are noting is the total disrespect that Khir and his colleagues have shown to him, the MCA and the Chinese community by extension.

None of his Umno colleagues appear to have spared any thought as to how tough the MCA predicament must be given the changing times and having to work under a "bully" boss like Umno. All that Khir and his ilk are interested in is how they can further slaughter Chua and his party to maximize their own brownie points with their community.

Gamblers at clan jetty play hide and seek in raid

Compliments of Lim Guan Eng's RM100 poltical bribe to senior citizens

Star by Tan Sin Chow N3 06-08-10

More than 10 gamblers jumped into the swampy hive of rubbish when police raided a " mini casino " at one of the historic clan jetties in Weld Quay here .

It is believed that the gamblers then hid patiently under the wooden planks before sneaking back to shore after the police had left the area .

However 26 others aged 31 to 76 were not so lucky as they were arrested during the 4.30pm raid at the Lee Jetty yesterday . 20 of them were believed to be senior citizens aged 60 yrs and above .

They were playing a Chinese dice game called Tai Sai ( also known as Chinese Craps ) in which players place bets on a huge gaming black board prior to the surprised raid .

This is what I just mentioned yesterday in my article on the giving of RM100 political bribe to senior citizens . This is the stupidity of this Malacca small boy who thinks he is great by doing that . Blady moron .

Special police unit needed for women

By CHRISTINA CHIN
sgchris@thestar.com.my

PENANG Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng wants special assault and trauma units to be established in every district of the country.

He said such a unit was necessary to deal with sexual violence.

“If we do not have enough manpower, we can always use the Special Branch officers - there are so many of them and I think we will get better value-for-money if the Special Branch was changed to a Violence and Sexual Crimes Unit.

“It would be a better use of resources,” he said, before questioning the need for the Special Branch.

Lim said the Federal Government must provide the necessary allocations to set up such units in “every district, in every state”.

“If the Federal Government can have so many Special Branch officers, why can’t they have a unit dedicated to women? This is like small boy talking cock , of all the various units like the D5 , D7 in the police force , this Small boy has to target the Special Branch . What a stupid CM with shit brains . Everyday finding fault with people , insulting people , condemning people , thinks he's smart but inactual fact a useless nincompoop !

“The police force is male dominated — what we need is a women’s perspective (when battling such crimes),” he said.

Lim was speaking at the closing of the ‘Gender Mainstreaming: Justice For All’ conference at a hotel in Tanjung Bungah on Sunday.

State Special Branch chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Datuk Rosly Abbas when contacted for comments said: “Only those who do not know history will call for the abolishment of the Special Branch”.

He said the Special Branch’s role was crucial during the communist insurgency and they had worked hard to ensure the country’s peace and security against terrorists and extremists like the Jemaah Islamiah militant group.

“The world is a dangerous place. The Special Branch will continue to remain relevant until the end of time,” he added.

Meanwhile in today's Star pageN3 , 3-8-10, it was reported that there was an alleged assault bid on Guan Eng in Komtar under the heading :

Cops probing alleged assault bid on Guan Eng in Komtar

Police investigating claims that Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was almost assaulted as he was about to head for a concert at Dewan Sri Pinang on Monday .

Apparently at about 7.50pm an unindentified man tried to slap Lim as he was about to enter his official vehicle at the level 2 vip car park in Komtar .

Lim's bodyguard and security personnal on duty nearby managed to prevent him from being slapped in the face and were able to deflect the person's hand although it was believed that the alleged offender did make contact .

When sought for comments , the CM's office refuted the claims , saying they have not heard anything of this nature . ( another way of face saving , being a CM and kena slapped in the face , lau koi ...or who knows for a man to have taken tiger's heart to slap a talk cock CM , maybe it has something more than just politics ... who knows , maybe something to do with someone's next of kin . Won't be surprised .
