After getting the mandate to rule Penang directly, and Selangor, indirectly, what the rakyat see is that the CAT slogan doesn’t even come close to define DAP. A ‘cat’ is a cute, cuddly little faithful companion and there’s just nothing cute, cuddly or faithful about DAP. You can’t be friends with DAP, even after you have cuddled them in your arms like what Hadi Awang did. Unless you are a Chinese, you can’t be a friend to DAP, you can only be their employee, their worker, their slave or their dog. If you chose to co-operate with DAP, you must first understand that by co-operating with them means you have to obey them. If you chose to work with them you must expect to be back-stabbed, conned, discriminated or abused by them. DAP will only give you a better position in the collaboration if you are deemed fit to be their puppet or if they perceive you as a natural traitor to your own race. Like I said, there is nothing cute or cuddly or faithful about DAP, in fact, they are absolutely the opposite. Everything about DAP spells racist, chauvinist, selfish and egoist. Because of these traits, DAP is incapable of tolerance, respect, compassion and sincerity. These then lead them to being incompetence, unaccountable and biased leaders. Penang has the ‘opportunity’ to see the true colours of DAP first hand. Barely 2 years after their taking over Penang, DAP didn’t think twice to demolish Kg. Buah Pala, Kg. Jalan Pokok Asam and Malay hawkers sites. DAP strategically destroys everything that spells non-Chinese in Penang and force them to move out from the island. This is done by building high-cost housing or commercial property projects on the newly demolished sites to ensure that the low-middle income non-Chinese could never afford to own them. Most recently, member of Penang City Council (MPPP) was reported to have used the service of a prostitute during the council’s official visit to Singapore. Another two officers were said to have spent time in night-clubs there. DAP couldn’t bare the shame and decided to do what they do best: use force to shut up the newspaper that reported the incident despite their ‘transparency’ slogan and their ‘fight’ for press freedom. The newspaper was forced to apologize and withdrew the article almost immediately. DAP is also very synonym to gangsterism, especially in Selangor whereby an Exco member is said to have linked to underground mobs and own several night-clubs and ‘spas’. This resulted in the rise of immoral activities and crime in the state. The problems of corruption then automatically become more severe as these mobsters and gangsters’ activities got entangled with the political game in the state. Should DAP ruled the country, we can be sure that we would see more crime, oppression and no freedom of speech except for the Chinese, perhaps. Malaysia wouldn’t be a prosperous, harmonious country anymore. Leadership like DAP would only fill the country with anger, dissatisfaction, sadness, fear and hatred. Even the Chinese wouldn’t be able to live their luxurious lives peacefully under DAP’s ruling. Since DAP has gone way out of their own slogan, CAT, we would like to suggest the party to change its slogan to fit their true colours. DAP’s new slogan should be PIG (Prejudice, Incompetence and Gangsterism). PIG would be a more suitable slogan to fit their character. Pig as an animal despised. It’s dirty, stinky and caused a lot of diseases. Even a pork-eater would refer their most hated person as a ‘pig’ just to discredit and insult the person. This confirms that a pig is the lowest animal on the planet. Funny that even a racist Chinese would call a Malay pig, just to show his hatred towards the Malay, despite his love towards pork. Sounds like a ‘love-hate’ situation eh? Irony, isn’t it?

Unidentified quarters have managed to rile up PAS and DAP in Galas, Kelantan, by questioning again their cooperation despite the differences of ideology between the two partners.

A banner was this morning found hanging in the Gua Musang town area with clearly printed words which screamed: “Why is PAS still supporting DAP (harbi)?”

'Harbi' refers to non-Muslims at war with Muslims.

It also described DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh as one who 'hina perjuangan Islam' (has insulted the Islamic struggle).

The banner quoted Karpal as having said: 'Mau wujudkan negara Islam langkah mayat kami dulu' ("You want to set up an Islamic state, you have to step over our dead bodies first").

The banner was taken down by PAS and DAP workers soon after wind of it had reached their parties operations centre in Gua Musang.

Speaking at a press conference held afterwards, PAS' Galas by-election machinery advisor Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah and DAP's national publicity secretary Tony Pua condemned the “racist” and “undemocratic” message put up by the parties' detractors.

Rahim said the banner was also against Islamic teachings.

“It is racist when we call someone 'harbi', as 'harbi' signifies open war with Muslims,” the Kota Baru MP said. He described the banner as an attempt to provoke Muslims.

"As the advisor to the PAS (election) machinery, I would like to make it clear here: it is PAS versus Umno. It is not DAP that is contesting in Galas.

"If you want to issue a challenge, please challenge PAS. Say it out loud - what kind of challenge do you want to issue?" said Abdul Rahim.

When asked, Rahim - known as Cikgu Rahim among the local - said he had no idea who was behind the banner, but urged the police to take action.

Pua (left) said although DAP had always been labelled as "anti-Islam" by “irresponsible” parties, the Penang goverment that it leads has put in place policies that belie such accusations.

Islamist party PAS has in the past been criticised for cooperating with DAP given the latter's opposition to the Islamic state - the rallying cry and cornerstone of PAS' ideology.

KUALA LUMPUR: A prominent member of Perak DAP has called on his bosses at national headquarters to pay more attention to complaints about the leadership style of Ngeh Koo Ham, the party’s top official in the state.

But in the same breath, he asked local leaders to practise what he called “self regulation”.

Teluk Intan MP M Manogaran, commenting on the current quarrel between Ngeh and his deputy, M Kulasegaran, said he agreed with other critics of the Perak DAP chairman and his cousin, Nga Kor Ming, that they behaved like warlords in the state.

Nga is secretary of Perak DAP.

Manogaran did not go easy on Kulasegaran either, saying his recent outbursts were uncalled for.

Kulasegaran has been at odds with Ngeh and Nga over several leadership issues and have had disagreements on the formation of new branches in Perak.

Ngeh and Nga are accused of forming new branches without endorsement from the state committee while Kulasegaran is alleged to have illegally revived dead branches.

According to Manogaran, party leaders like Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh hardly interfere with issues that they feel can be resolved at local level, preferring to give room for self- regulation as long as no one goes against what the party stands for.

However, he added, the situation in Perak called for greater involvement from them.

Started with state DAP elections

Speaking to FMT, he said the current spat in Perak had its roots in the 2008 Perak DAP election, where Kulasegaran scored the highest number of votes for the 15 state committees available.

Ngeh was in fifth position and Nga was sixth.

Kulasegaran was firm in declining to take over the state chair, according to the Teluk Intan MP. “Let us not rock the boat," he quoted Kulasegaran as saying then.

He said he had expected the cousins to be fair and to give “room and space for everyone,” but that nothing of this sort happened in the 10 months that Pakatan Rakyat ruled the state.

"Favouritism and cronyism did take place,” Manogaran said. “It’s an open secret that the cousins actually behave like warlords in Perak."

He said this could be partly due to the leadership’s belief in self-regulation.

“Leaders like Kit Siang will just merely indicate that things are not right and need to improve," he said.

Referring to Kulasegaran's conduct in the past week, he said MP for Ipoh Barat was letting down the party members who had given him their mandate in 2008.

"I can't understand why he called off his press conference and on the next morning he landed in Nepal, apologising for his action," he said.

"He is a seasoned politician, not an amateur.”

IPOH, Oct 6 — A group of DAP supporters today staged a demonstration demanding that Perak DAP deputy chairman M. Kulasegaran to quit the party.

Some 20 DAP Youth members of Indian origin gathered in front of the state DAP office at Medan Istana here carrying banners stating their support for Kulasegaran and of criticisms against the Perak DAP leadership.

Azman Mubarak, 24, who claimed to be the spokesman for the group, said a total of 300 DAP members from Buntung here were willing to follow Kulasegaran, who is also Ipoh Barat member of parliament, in quitting the party.

They were disappointed with the state DAP leadership for sidelining Kulasegaran and supporters of Indian origin, he added.

Another DAP member, Alex Raj, 22, said the gathering was held as a show of support for Kulasegaran and to condemn Perak DAP chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham for allegedly practising nepotism and cronyism in Perak DAP.

“We feel cheated by DAP. They only need our votes in the election,” he added.

Kulasegaran is now in Nepal and expected to be back in a week.

There have been reports of a tiff between Kulasegaran, Ngeh and Perak DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming and that Kulasegaran has threatened to resign. — Bernama

IPOH, Oct 3 — Perak DAP leaders have agreed to a gag order on its leadership crisis, pending the return of their deputy chairman M. Kulasegaran from his week-long sojourn in Nepal.

In a joint press statement this morning, state party chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and vice-chairman A. Sivanesan stressed that the leadership quarrel should be resolved internally.

The duo further claimed that this decision was mooted by the party’s secretary-general Lim Guan Eng during his discussion with Ngeh.

“Lim, who was away for an official trip to Australia, spoke to Ngeh upon his return at the Penang International Airport.

“We agreed with Lim’s suggestion that matters involving Perak DAP should be handled internally.

“Thereby we will not be making any public statements or answer press queries on this issue,” Ngeh (right) and Sivanesan said in the statement.

They added that party leaders would await Kulasegaran’s return from Nepal before making any further decision on the matter.

“We will also wait for Lim to convene a meeting, which shall also be attended by (DAP advisor) Lim Kit Siang,” they concluded.

Perak DAP was plunged into crisis on Friday night when a special leadership meeting aimed at promoting unity ended on an ugly note, with Kulasegaran threatening resignation.

Although the Ipoh Barat MP has since indicated he would likely not follow through with his threat, his outburst through microblogging site Twitter has left his colleagues with a bitter aftertaste.

Ngeh, in his attempt to diffuse the situation, yesterday reprimanded Kulasegaran for washing the party’s dirty linen in public when he publicised his quit threat on Twitter.

The former senior state executive councillor also played down the allegations levelled against himself and his cousin Nga Kor Ming (left), both of whom have been blamed as the protagonists behind Kulasegaran’s outburst.

For months, trouble has been brewing in the higher echelons of the Perak DAP, in the wake of the impending party elections set for November 14.

The bickering between the two camps — Kulasegaran’s and the Ngeh-Nga camp — grew worse when both sides began to quarrel over the formation of new branches in the state.

On the one hand, Kulasegaran and his men have accused Ngeh and Nga of forming over 100 new branches without attaining endorsement from the state committee, while on the other, the cousins have charged that their arch rivals had been illegally reviving old branches to shore up support for themselves.

In an effort to soothe over the incessant bickering between the two feuding factions, a peace-making effort was mooted some three months back.

Friday’s meeting was held to discuss and resolve certain issues that had risen in recent weeks, including the existence of a circulating letter that Kulasegaran’s men are claiming had the ill-intention to damage his popularity.

When talks failed to promote a settlement, an angry Kulasegaran stormed out of the meeting, dangling a threat that he would leave the state committee.

Since then, Kulasegaran has also challenged Ngeh to an open debate on their grouses, throwing the Perak DAP into further chaos.

Ngeh and Nga, both of whom are MPs and state assemblymen as well as former state administrators when Pakatan Rakyat helmed Perak, have often been accused of being overzealous and dictatorial in their leadership.

Despite this, the duo have chosen not to go to the press with their denials or to rebut the accusations, insisting that such matters should be resolved via consensus and within the party leadership.

They have urged members to look at the bigger picture at hand, which was to prepare themselves to regain power in Perak in the next general election.

IPOH, Oct 2 – Perak DAP chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham, accused as one of the protagonists behind M. Kulasegaran’s outburst last night, indicated today that he would not kowtow to his deputy’s emotional threat to leave the state leadership.

Instead, the state party chairman chose to castigate the Ipoh Barat MP for washing the party’s dirty linen in public when he published damaging statements on microblogging site Twitter.

“I regret that he should announce his intended resignation through Twitter instead of informing the state committee.

“As a responsible leader, we should all follow proper procedures and keep all internal matters within the party,” Ngeh (picture) told The Malaysian Insider this afternoon.

Ngeh and his cousin, Perak DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming, have been blamed for Kulasegaran’s emotional outburst during a special leadership meeting held last night at Kampung Simee near here.

The Malaysian Insider understands that what was supposed to be a discussion on unity, turned into a bitter quarrel between the two feuding factions – Kulasegaran’s camp and the Ngeh-Nga camp.

For months, the two teams have had several run-ins with one another but the climax of their bickering occurred last night when Kulasegaran, who is also the party’s national vice-chairman, stormed off in a huff, leaving behind a threat that he would resign from his state party post.

Ngeh confirmed today that Kulasegaran had indeed mentioned his intention to bail from the state committee during the heated meeting last night but was cajoled to stay by other leaders.

“It was just an informal meeting between a few leaders. In the midst of it... before he left, he expressed his intention to resign and the leaders pursuaded him not to.

“However, he tweeted about it anyway,” said an upset-sounding Ngeh.

After last night’s meeting, Kulasegaran wrote on his Twitter timeline: “Just finished DAP leadership meeting in Ipoh. Sad day as I will announce what is lacking in Perak leadership 2molo n why I have 2 leave 4good.”

Later in the night, he told The Malaysian Insider via SMS that he had no intention to leave the party but was tired of his ongoing charade with the Ngeh-Nga cousins.

“Leaving DAP no way. But going open on internal problems. I am being run down by Ngeh and I can’t take it any more,” he explained.

It was later announced that Kulasegaran would be organising a press conference at 10.30am this morning to go public with his grouses against the two cousins.

More tweets, however, were seen on Kulasegaran’s Twitter account prior to the conference this morning and this time, the leader’s tone had somehow mellowed.

“Very disturbed about having d pc latter. My mind is unsettled as I c factional fight is seeing its ugly head in Perak,” he said in one tweet.

Shortly after that, Kulasegaran cancelled the press conference.

He said in his Twitter message: “Members and supporters asking me to reconsider. I will be away for a week n will then tell all if the need arises.”

In his last tweet at about 2pm, Kulasegaran said: “If ever there comes a time and point where I am no longer able to play any meaningful role, I shall merely retire from politics.”

His words were a clear indication that the veteran leader had likely decided to stay in as the Perak DAP’s deputy chairman.

However, the party is also heading for its state elections this November, and the internal bickering between the two feuding camps is expected to rear its ugly head once again.

Today, Ngeh made it clear that should Kulasegaran still press on with his intention to leave the state committee, he would respect the leader’s decision.

“If he still persists in resigning, we will respect his decision and we would like to thank him for his past services,” he said.

Ngeh also refused to comment on allegations made by Kulasegaran’s camp that the he and his cousin Nga had been attempting to round up their branches to gang up against them.

“There is a proper channel of discussion and a problem-solving process. I hope all party members will abide by the rules to discuss all matters internally,” he said.

As such, Ngeh noted that it was “not true” that the Perak DAP was on the verge of self-destruction.

He acknowledged that there would likely be fierce competition during the coming state party elections but noted that this was healthy in any democratic process.

“Just because there is an election does not mean there is faction-fighting,” he said.

Ngeh added that despite Kulasegaran's outburst, the unity plan between the two camps would still press on through internal discussions.

“As a chairman, I always, at any point in time, want unity in the party. There may be issues sometimes but any issue can be resolved internally,” he said.

DAP crisis: Kulasegaran calls off PC, will go on leave

IPOH: Perak DAP deputy chairman M Kulasegaran today called off his press conference at Wisma DAP in Medan Istana, believed to have been persuaded by the party's top leadership.

The press conference was cancelled five minutes before it was scheduled to start at 10.30am.

Kulasegaran, who is Ipoh Barat MP, was reported to have wanted to hold the press conference to expose the efforts taken by the "Ngeh-Nga" cousins (Perak DAP chairman Ngeh Khoo Ham and secretary Nga Kor Ming) to weaken leaders who could not see eye-to-eye with them.

Kulasegaran was also expected to voice his dissatisfaction over the state DAP leadership and announce his resignation as state deputy chairman at the press conference.

When contacted by Bernama, he said he was advised to go on leave by the party's leadership.

Kulasegaran also gave a week for the relevant parties to solve the crisis as he left for a holiday overseas.

Meanwhile, Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir described the DAP crisis as "scabies which had turned into larger and ugly sores".

"What is happening in the party shows the true colours of the leaders, who, all this while, have been putting up an act in front of the people.

"They are only concerned about their personal agendas and not so much for the people who support them," he told reporters after opening the Third National Retired Malaysian Naval Officers Association Conference and Hari Raya do here today.

'DAP members voted in PKR polls'

KUCHING: The controversies surrounding the PKR divisional elections nationwide continued to pile up, with the latest allegation being DAP members having voted in the Sri Aman division contest.

In last week's contest, Jimmy Donald was elected chairman after edging his opponent Ibi Anak Uding by a mere eight votes. Donald got 84 votes, Ibi 76 and the third candidate Cobbold John Lusoi managed to get only 10 votes.

However, Ibi claimed that her supporters had detected irregularities.

“We found that eight voters who cast their votes for Donald are DAP members. Not only that, they are also DAP Sri Aman division committee members. This is the ‘father and son’ strategy,” Ibi said, referring to Donald's son, Leon, who is a DAP member.

“When PKR is having its election, they claim to be PKR members and take part in the election. And likewise when DAP has its election, they say they are DAP members,” she added.

Ibi, who is the Sarawak PKR Wanita chief, said her supporters were collecting more information on those who could have dual party memberships.

'Disqualification a blow for Azmin'

Meanwhile, state PKR information chief See Chee How said the party election committee could declare Donald's election null and void if there was basis to the allegation.

If Donald was disqualified, party sources said it would render a blow to vice-president Azmin Ali's bid for deputy presidency as the former is a stauch supporter of Azmin.

The division was also expected to be hit by resignations as those elected had refused to work with Donald. Ten out of the 15 elected members are aligned to Ibi.

Ibi said that she had informed the state PKR headquarters and party election committee in Kuala Lumpur about the irregularities.

Contacted later, PKR deputy secretary-general Paul Kadang said that the headquarters was aware of the matter and was looking through it.

This was the first report of alleged irregularities in PKR elections in the state. So far, 13 divisions had elected their representatives and committee members.

Starting today, another 16 divisions would elect their chairmen and committee members.

According to sources, winning the chairmanship of each division was akin to coming one-step closer to being selected as candidates for the coming state election.

IPOH, Oct 2 — Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran has threatened to quit as Perak DAP deputy chairman in the climax of a leadership battle with the “Ngeh-Nga” cousins running the state chapter.

The veteran party leader, known to be the main arch-rival of the two famed cousins in the Perak DAP – state chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and secretary Nga Kor Ming – had apparently stormed out of a “special meeting” held last night after an intense shouting match with the duo.

In his announcement on what transpired during the meeting, believed to have been held in Kampung Simee and not at the party’s state headquarters, Kulasegaran, who is also the party’s national vice-chairman, wrote on microblogging site Twitter, “Just finished DAP leadership meeting in Ipoh. Sad day as I will announce what is lacking in Perak leadership 2molo n whu I have 2 leave 4good.”

Kulasegaran (picture) did not offer more details but when contacted by The Malaysian Insider after midnight, he confirmed that he was not leaving the party entirely.

“Leaving DAP no way. But going open on internal problems. I am being run down by Ngeh and I can’t take it any more,” he explained in an SMS.

When pressed for a confirmation however, Kulasegaran remained silent and would not take calls.

The Malaysian Insider understands that the determined leader will now embark on a “tell-all” rampage to further discredit the two cousins through the media, beginning with a press conference to be held at 10.30am here today.

According to a state committee member who attended last night’s meeting, the discussion had been summoned as a part of the party’s efforts to unite the two feuding factions between Kulasegaran’s camp and the “Ngeh-Nga” camp.

“But the unity talks was just as it is called – talk only. They (Ngeh-Nga) never stuck to their claims, their promises,” said the leader.

The leader added that the “unity talks” mooted by leaders from both camps was aimed at ensuring that the party’s state convention and elections set to be held this November, would go on smoothly.

“There was a sort of agreement that both sides won’t try to finish off each other.... but they (Ngeh-Nga) went around everywhere to badmouth us (Kulasegaran’s camp),” said the leader.

The leader claimed that Ngeh-Nga’s men had intentionally been moving around the party’s branches, attempting to get its leaders to file complaints against branches in support of Kulasegaran.

“There is also a letter being circulated for this purpose. We know, because it comes back to us. We even know who signed those letters and so it is definitely people from Ngeh-Nga’s camp,” said the leader.

The leader however admitted that Kulasegaran’s shocking decision would cause larger ripples in the already turbulent waters of the Perak DAP.

“It will have its repercussions but what else can we do? Sometimes, you just cannot take it anymore and keeping quiet no longer becomes an option,” said the leader.

It is no secret that for years, there has been no love lost between Kulasegaran and the two cousins.

The faction-fighting had however let up momentarily when Pakatan Rakyat won Perak in the last general elections and the party had to concentrate on administering the state with its partners PKR and PAS.

With the two cousins both holding posts as MP, state assemblymen and state executive councillors however, the faction-fighting eventually began again.

The two were also accused of being puppet-masters in the state government by holding total control over former mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin of PAS.

This had allegedly been one of the reasons behind the abrupt resignations of three PR assemblymen last year, a move that caused Perak to fall to Barisan Nasional.

Following PR’s loss of Perak, the factional fighting in Perak DAP worsened.

During a function in September last year, the first-term assemblyman for Jalong Leong Mee Meng reportedly wept openly during her speech and later explained that her tears were born out of frustration from being sidelined by the cousins.

In recent days, the formation of new branches and the revival of defunct ones became the latest bone of contention between feuding factions.

According to one state committee member in Kulasegaran’s camp, both the Ngeh-Nga cousins have been establishing brand new branches without the knowledge of other state committee members.

But the Ngeh-Nga faction has accused their detractors of wrongfully reviving old ones.

Their arguments, having reached a boiling point, had apparently led to the recent decision by both camps to engage in a peace plan for the sake of facing the party elections in November.

The number of ‘missing persons’ reports all linked to these lawyers emerging all of a sudden out of the blue is testimony to this.


I refer to the horrific murders of Malaysia ‘s cosmetic queen, Sosilawati Lawiya and three of her colleagues in a not so remote farm outside Banting.

These murders could have been avoided if our police force had been more professional. Clearly the police took a tidak apa attitude or were ‘in it’ in all previous deaths/disappearances. The number of ‘missing persons’ reports all linked to these lawyers emerging all of a sudden out of the blue is testimony to this.

Do you know where this lawyer’s office? Its right across the police station’s reception counter, hardly 50 meters away. And do you know where he stays? In Taman Cempaka, also right across the police station. That their ‘farm’ at Taman Endah was conveniently located only a stone throw’s away from the Hindu disposition site for the cremated ashes of the dead could explain why some of the dead have disappeared without a trace. How very convenient. Kill the victims, cremate them and throw the ashes together with the rest of the Hindu dead at Morib’s established beach site location. A slick morbid operation indeed, if everything is proven true.

It is inconceivable that the police were oblivious to all their wrongdoings, especially since we now have at least two complainants coming forward, a wife of a Chennai businessman who disappeared after meeting the lawyers a year ago, and a local mechanic who had his wife slashed to death at Taman Cempaka itself with the mechanic himself ending up in the lock-up instead of both the lawyers being thrown in the slammer after a financial deal had gone wrong. This scenario looks more like a 1 Corrupted Malaysia Boleh story.

Banting police first came into notoriety when they were part of a local casino outfit in February 2004 at a house-cum-casino in Taman Emas resulting in almost the entire police force there being transferred out, some to places as far as Sarawak and Limbang after wives of the ‘casino’s’ male clients went public. And today, the Banting police station and the quarters are immense for only one reason. The Banting area is notorious for past and present criminals and massive smuggling of goods and human beings because of its long coastline and shallow waters which make it ideal as a landing spot for smugglers and illegal immigrants.

The police have their hands full, yes. Apart from this, Banting was used previously as a location spot for criminals to be buang negeri, essentially restricted movements to only the locality of Banting. Banting further gained notoriety when a young Chinese Datuk, a well-known smuggler and ah long was shot dead at the Sakura restaurant in Jalan Imbi, KL by hitmen. The two crooked lawyers may have taken advantage of the chaotic situation to buy off certain police officers.

And on Raya day, Malaysia was presented with a rude shock. Sosilawati and 3 innocent people were brutally murdered apparently during the Ramadan. If the police had been even half as efficient before, these animals would have been sent to the gallows earlier. Even Botak Chin is beginning to look like an angel compared to these lawyers.

As the daily shocking revelations take place pertaining to these murders, one thing that bothers many people here is – who were the other farmhands who had the courage to slaughter the victims and cremate them. Were these farmhands foreigners courtesy of Ng Yen Yen’s VOA (Visa on Arrival) programme to artificially boost tourist numbers? As it is well-known now, many Indian ‘tourists’ who acquired VOAs have now disappeared into Malaysian territory.

I do hope some of these fellows were not involved in these murders, for if they were, Ng Yen Yen surely has a lot to answer for compromising national security in exchange for increased tourist numbers.

The British Raj utilised 100,000 British Officers to maintain law and order in an India comprising of 350 million people. Malaysia with 100,000 police officers should be able to maintain order in a nation of only 28 million people if they focus on their jobs assuming immigration officers play their part as well. Our police should not be side-tracked to be used in policing political party gatherings and ferrying VIPs.

As for criminals such as ah long, smugglers and now even lawyers – there is only one way to reduce criminal intentions – an education system that inculcates proper values and an economy that thrives. That essentially is the government’s duty. And the longer they tinker around trying to right our atrocious education system, the more criminals Malaysia will have because, judging from reports, our own schools appear to be the breeding grounds for future gangsters, criminals, murderers and killer lawyers.

With these murders, Malaysia ‘s international image is in tatters. Investors are already branding this country as unsafe. The new IGP, unlike his predecessor, should not let the police force be pushed around by political parties but instead mould them into a professional outfit so that incidents of this nature do not ever happen in this country again.

DAP leader and Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has slammed Perak prosecutors for trying to charge Tebing Tinggi assemblyman Ong Boon Piow for possessing 23 DVDs of the Perak “tree assembly”.


"This case against Ong is clear-cut selective prosecution intended to intimidate BN’s political opponents. When illegal DVDs are commonly available in every corner, it is ridiculous that Ong Boon Piow be singled out for punishment," Teresa said in a media statement.

According to her, MCA Perak also distributed thousands of similar DVDs during that period and no charges were laid. As such, the rule of natural justice dictates there must not be any prosecution in Ong's case, Teresa added.

Ong was due to be charged for video-taping the Pakatan state assembly meeting held under a rain tree last year. On March 3, 2009, Pakatan lawmakers were forced to hold the emergency session after they were physically barred from entering the legislative hall in the Perak Darul Ridwan state secretariat building.

If convicted, the 31-year old first-time assemblyman faces jail of up to three years, fined between RM5,000 to RM30,000 or both. This means Ong could be disqualified from his seat and the state would have to hold its first by-election since the Bukit Gantang parliamentary by-election won by Nizar in 2009.

"I believe that this trumped up charge is yet another underhanded tactic by Barisan Nasional to takeover another seat in the Perak assembly as they did in 2009. The charge against Ong must be dropped immediately to retain any semblance of credibility for the government of Perak," said Teresa.

Nevertheless, in a surprise U-turn the Perak authorities deferred the charges to an unspecified date, sparking speculation that Putrajaya may have scuppered Mentri Besar Zambry Kadir's gung-ho plan.

Pundits believe Prime Minister Najib Razak, who orchestrated the 2009 coup d'etat against the Pakatan state government, had misgivings about the BN's chances and did not want to risk a loss, which would have severe negative consequences on his own position in his Umno party.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — DAP assemblyman Jenice Lee threatened today to sue Pandan MP Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat if he failed to publically apologise for allegedly defaming her.

Lee refuted Ong’s accusations that she had abused public funds for a campaign since 2007 to build a Chinese primary school in Pandan Perdana, which has yet to materialise.

“There are some false allegations in Ong Tee Keat’s blog,” Lee said in a statement today.

“After my clarification today I demanded (sic) Ong Tee Keat to apologize and make a clarification openly, otherwise I will sue him for defamation,” she added.

Ong had said that his service centre recently received complaints from local residents who claimed they had donated to the DAP by buying hand-held fans bearing Lee’s portrait in support of a school-building project.

The Pandan MP noted that Lee has not made a public account of the donations she had collected, leaving donors in the dark on how their money was spent as there was still no sign of the school. Selangor DAP chief Ean Yong Hian Wah also claimed no knowledge of her donation drive.

“Collecting money from the public by claiming that they are being raised for a non-existent school reeks of abuse and is in bad taste,” Ong wrote in his blog entry posted on August 31.

Lee dismissed the allegations and insisted that the donations she had collected since 2007 were for the party to campaign for the school, not to construct it.

The Teratai assemblyman also maintained that she does not need to be accountable to the public over their donations for the party campaign, even as allegations of corruption surfaced against her.

Angry Pandan area residents’ association representatives reportedly highlighted Lee’s alleged misdeeds to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) last Wednesday.

One of the representatives reportedly claimed that some 10,000 fans bearing Lee’s image were sold to donors in her constituency based on her promise of building the school on a plot of land known as a “green-lung” of Pandan Perdana.

Lee said today that she would also sue Ong’s special officer Cindy Leong for falsely accusing her of printing 10,000 fans and selling them for RM50,000.

“This is a very serious allegation and I will sue her for defamation also,” said Lee.

She pointed out that she had only ordered 2,000 fans and raised RM4,773.50 in sales. Campaign expenses however amounted to RM6,173, causing a deficit of RM1,399.50.

Lee said that the shortfall occurred as fans were given to those who donated RM1 although the suggested donation was RM5. She had also allowed donors to take three fans for a donation sum of RM10.

“That was why the selling of merchandise hardly cover(ed) the cost,” said the Teratai assemblyman.

Lee challenged Ong to visit her and peruse the accounts of the party campaign from July to December 2007.

“I am very happy to explain all the usage of public funding to him (Ong) one by one,” she said.

Lee also claimed that Ong had falsely accused her of failing to file an application for land conversion in connection to the school project.

“No applications for conversion had ever been made, making a mockery of the school fund raising project,” said Ong in his blog.

The Teratai assemblyman pointed out that she had visited the site intended for the school in Pandan Perdana on August 31 with Selangor exco Ronnie Liu, Hulu Langat district officer Zainal Abidin A’ala and Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) deputy president Abd Hamid Hussain.

“We also came out with 2 steps solutions to convert the reserve land (green lung) to school reserve land,” said Lee.

The Teratai assemblyman also noted that Ong had never paid the MPAJ for previously using the Taman Muda Community Hall as his office and said that parts of the hall had been rented out for functions.

“In this case, should Ong Tee Keat also declare his account?” she asked.

KUALA LUMPUR, August 21 — The DAP questioned today Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s reluctance to condemn racist remarks uttered by a school principal, adding an investigating task force would just complicate a straightforward case.

Its national publicity secretary Tony Pua also called the education minister’s decision to set up a task force to investigate Johor school principal Siti Inshah Mansor’s allegedly racist remarks “an afterthought”.

“The question is, why is he, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, so reluctant to condemn such remarks and warn others in the Education Ministry from ever doing the same or face the harshest of consequences?

“His action, or in this case, inaction, has further damaged the “1 Malaysia” concept proposed by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak to promote national unity,” Pua said in a statement.

The Petaling Jaya Utara MP said it would have been simple for Muhyiddin to determine if Siti Inshah had uttered racist words given the tens of witnesses present and the police report filed after the fact, and accused the Umno deputy president of complicating the probe.

Pua said that, while it was fair for the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra principal to receive a thorough investigation, the emphasis by Muhyiddin that the probe will involve several agencies was a “clear attempt” to unnecessarily prolong the investigation.

“[This] despite the obvious fact that Siti Inshah has apologised to the students for the offence,” he said.

Muhyiddin yesterday directed Education director-general Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom to set up a committee to investigate the matter. Alimuddin had earlier said it was a misunderstanding that had been resolved in a failed effort to placate angry parents.

The police are currently investigating the case under section 504 of the Penal Code for provocation which carries a maximum imprisonment of two years, a fine or both.

A total of 20 complaints have been lodged with the authorities.

Sit Inshah had reportedly made the derogatory remarks during the launch of the school’s Merdeka celebrations earlier this week.

“Chinese students are not needed here and can return to China or Foon Yew schools. For the Indian students, the prayer string tied around their neck and wrist makes them look like dogs because only dogs are tied like that,” Siti Inshah was quoted as saying in at least one police report.

Pua added that it was telling that Muhyiddin’s investigative task force had not been set a deadline to present its findings when a week would have been enough to determine the outcome.

He said this was proof that the Education Ministry was not serious about getting to the bottom of the issue quickly, and claimed the task force was just a way to placate angry parents and upset Malaysians while the ministry buys time for itself to resolve the issue after the first attempt backfired.

However, he said the “ridiculous” precedent of setting up a high-level task force to investigate such allegations may create a “tidal wave” of such task forces now that the same offence was reported to have been committed by a principal in Kedah.

A Kedah school head was yesterday accused of racism for allegedly telling her Chinese pupils to “return to China”.

The Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Selambau headmistress was said to have accused the Chinese pupils of being insensitive towards their Muslim peers by eating in the school compound during the fasting month of Ramadan last Friday, and ordered them to return to China if they could not respect the culture of other races.

“Will the Education Minister announce another taskforce to investigate these claims? Will more taskforces be set up as more such offences get reported?” Pua asked.

He also called on Muhyiddin to demonstrate his commitment to 1 Malaysia by condemning racist remarks outright and warning all teachers and principals that those found guilty of uttering them will be punished most severely, including being sacked from their job.

“If Tan Sri Muhyiddin still refuses to take quick action on the above, then it is imperative for the Prime Minister himself to take all necessary steps to hold together his fragile ‘1 Malaysia’ brainchild, if the concept still means anything to him,” he said.

PETALING JAYA: Poor show – that’s the view of Umno and MCA Youth leaders to DAP’s handling of the letterhead issue and the “OMG! The real culprit freed” tweet.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said it did not make sense for Selangor DAP leader Teng Chang Khim to use a movie as a cover-up for his tweet, and that he believes Teng had actually meant to describe another DAP leader.

On Selangor exco member Ronnie Liu, he said Liu’s explanation was weak when he claimed he was not aware his letterhead had been used in a supporting letter for a company linked to the son of a Klang councillor.

“It is nothing less than covering up what they did. They try to sweep things under the carpet,” Khairy said yesterday.

The DAP disciplinary committee held an inquiry on Thursday to probe Teng’s “OMG!” tweet and the letterhead issue involving Liu.

Teng posted the tweet on July 31 after the committee announced its decision to sack Selangor DAP organising secretary and Klang councillor Tee Boon Hock for allegedly issuing several support letters with Liu’s letterhead.

Teng told the disciplinary committee that his tweet was about the Hong Kong movie 14 Blades, in which a character betrayed the chief imperial guard.

It also issued a “severe reprimand” to Liu over the letterhead controversy, saying he had not managed his office diligently.

MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong did not believe Teng had meant to tweet about 14 Blades as the movie did not dwell on politics.

Dr Wee said it was difficult to believe Liu’s statement claiming he did not know a support letter with his exco letterhead had been issued to a company in which Tee’s son is a director.

Dr Wee had on Thursday tweeted: “OMG, who is the culprit that escaped from the ‘kangaroo court’ of DAP? From now on, DAP means Drama Action Party. Please get a good director & producer!”

MCA deputy publicity bureau chief Loh Seng Kok said “they (DAP) are trying to fool the people”, adding that what Teng tweeted was in public domain.

PETALING JAYA: Who is the man in the "OMG! Real culprit freed" tweet? Selangor state legislative assembly speaker Teng Chang Khim revealed that it was a character in a "kung fu" movie.

Teng told this to the DAP disciplinary committee hearing.

After the 45-minutes hearing, Teng told reporters that the committee had accepted his explanation.

"It was a coincidence; unfortunately it fit well with the situation at the time," he said at the DAP headquarters here today.

Explaining, Teng said he told the committee that the "culprit" in his tweet was a villain in the Chinese movie "14 blades".

The villain, a guard played by Qi Yuwu, had apparently betrayed the main character, a chief imperial "jin yi wei" guard, played by Donnie Yen.

Teng said on the night of July 31, he had watched parts of the movie in his car during a long journey travelling between two events.

He posted the tweet about his disappointment that the "bad guy" got away after watching the movie half-way.

"Anti-climatic, right? Don't hold me responsible on what the media has written. It's not my fault that you have speculated so much. It's your fault," Teng said.

PETALING JAYA: A former DAP leader has urged the party to take action against Selangor “blue-eyed boy” exco member Ronnie Liu, alleging that Liu was behind the "exposé" of the “letterhead” incident which led to the recent sacking of Klang municipal councillor Tee Boon Hock.

(DAP expelled Tee, who was also a former special assistant to Liu, from the party last Saturday on grounds that he had allegedly abused Liu's letterhead and seal to secure contracts worth RM1.04 million to 15 companies. Tee has 14 days to appeal.)

The DAP man claimed that the whole fiasco was an elaborate plan to remove Tee as well as State Legislative Assembly Speaker Teng Chang Khim ahead of division and state party elections.

(Teng has been summoned by the DAP disciplinary committee to explain his controversial Tweeter posting over the dismissal.)

"This episode is bad for the party. The top party leaders should intervene and mediate in the dispute. They should accept everybody's views and not only those of blue-eyed boy Ronnie Liu. Listen also to Teng and Tee so that we can come clean and resolve everything," said the source, who wished to remain anonymous.

"I think Liu is the one who used The Star to expose this whole thing. It is best for him to step down and remain as an ordinary state assemblyman... he should focus on working with the people in Pandamaran, especially since Liu rode on Tee's support during the 2008 general election.”

According to the source, Liu apparently has very little grassroots support and had all the while relied on Tee's powerful influence in Klang.

The source said the two were always seen as allies until about a year ago when both had a fall-out. Liu started "sidelining" Tee even to the extent of removing him as Bukit Tinggi municipal councillor and giving him the "lesser" councillor position at Pulau Ketam.

"The party won handsomely in 2008, and I think from there, greediness crept in. This happens once you are in power, and once you taste an exco position... Liu was not gracious towards Tee. This time the infighting has become severe," said the source. Worse if you are the Cheap minister of a State
"Liu knew his faction is going to lose in the next party elections and is afraid he will have no power base in Selangor. He knew Tee was already going to the ground preparing for the state party elections and he commands good support.

“Word got to him (Liu) that Tee was impossible to defeat and the only way to stop him is to bring up this 'letterhead' issue.”

Touch n Go politician

Asked why Liu would bring up something that has his name on the letterhead, the source said: "It is detrimental to him, but he is a seasoned politician. He knows it's better to bring it up now rather than be embarrassed later on."

Describing Liu as a "street politician", the source dismissed him as a "touch and go" politician who just turns up for functions and does not try to understand the people's grouses.

The source said due to Liu's "questionable" performance as Pandamaran state assemblyman and as a state exco, many of his supporters have gone over to Teng and Tee.

"This mess is also an attempt to get rid of Teng. I won't be surprised if he is suspended for six months just so he can't contest the elections. I don't understand why Teng was always sidelined and why whatever decision he made was seen as biased, whereas whatever Liu's faction did was deemed right."

Meanwhile, a Klang grassroots leader said he was also convinced that Liu was the "main suspect" in the whole affair.

"The filing and photocopying of documents such as the letters of support can only come from the state assemblyman's office. If it was not Liu, then it was the people around him," he said on condition of anonymity.

He said Liu's relationship with Tee soured last year when Independent Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong alleged that Liu was connected to underworld characters and ex-MCA and Umno members.

"Apparently, the party leaders instructed Tee to monitor Liu then, and Liu got upset about it."

"The party members in Klang could not accept that he was mixing with the wrong crowd and hoped he would leave these people so as not to tarnish the party's image. Tee was then terminated as special assistant to Liu in 2009."

Tee has local support

However, the leader denied claims that Tee had aligned himself to Teng following the former's fall- out with Liu, saying that those were simply rumours created by Liu's camp.

"The whole of Klang knows that Tee, and not Teng or Liu, is the only one who enjoys grassroots support. Tee and his supporters are much like a third force in Klang, if not the whole of Selangor, and that's why he (Tee) was feared,” he said.

“The rumour that Tee was working with Teng to 'control Selangor' was probably created so that national leaders such as Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng would perhaps take drastic action against Tee," he added. These two tag team rules the DAP , ask Hu Sepang , Kerk Kim Hock , Lee Lam Thye and they will tell do these two are the greatest bastards in the DAP

The source claimed Tee commands the support of over 25 branches in Klang and at least half in Selangor, because he is a person who does the right things for party members...

He said that Teng's "OMG" tweet was just a publicity stunt to gain prominence during this controversy.

The source also said grassroots leaders see the furore over the "letter of support" as more of a morality issue than a crime.

"There is nothing right or wrong here, and in Tee's case he was only supporting a few companies to be registered with the municipal council, and not directly getting any projects.

“He should have been suspended until the outcome of the police investigation. He should not have been sacked. DAP is not the court."
Meanwhile, Selangor police from the commercial crime investigation department have started questioning Liu and Tee over the alleged misuse of the letters of support.

Liu and Teng have also been summoned to appear before the DAP disciplinary committee on Aug 12 to explain their respective side of the story.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 — Another letter of support for the company where Tee Boon Hock’s son is a director and reportedly signed by Ronnie Liu has surfaced — in a twist that could exonerate the municipal councillor sacked by the DAP.

The letter of support for five companies, including the junior Tee’s Perhidmatan AA, dated April 14, 2008, purportedly carries Liu’s signature under his executive council letterhead.

The support letter is addressed to the Environment and Landscaping director at the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) to endorse these firms as contractors at Liu’s Pandamaran constituency for jobs worth about RM1 million.

DAP insiders who handed a copy of the letter to The Malaysian Insider over the weekend argued that it indicated Liu had endorsed Perhidmatan AA four months before Tee, who was then his special assistant, signed a similar letter.

“Tee was only following precedent and Liu cannot claim he was in the dark over the issue,” a DAP member told The Malaysian Insider.

Liu had first said there was no abuse of his letterhead but later lodged a police report claiming the support letters were misused. The state government is now investigating the issue but said the practice of issuing such letters will continue although Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders are against it.

Tee was appointed as councillor in July 2008 and the letter of support was issued by him a month later in August. He was sacked on grounds of conflict of interest as it involved a family member.

Tee asserts he had signed all the letters under Liu’s instructions.

The sacked DAP veteran maintained that all the letters of support he had signed were done under Liu’s instructions and he did not know his son was in the firm bidding for a government contract.

When contacted yesterday, Tee told The Malaysian Insider that the police already have a copy of the letter.

“I don’t want to say anything further because I don’t want to jeopardise investigations.”

But Tee added that he would be raising the issue when he appeals against his sacking from the DAP.

Liu, meanwhile, told The Malaysian Insider he was made aware of the letter when questioned by police last week.

“It looked like my signature but I am not sure if I had issued the letter,” said the veteran DAP member, seen as a “blue-eyed boy” of the party leadership.

Liu added that the police also showed him a copy of another support letter which bore a signature he did not recognise.

“I believe there’s a possibility these letters have been forged because I can’t find the originals,” said the first-term assemblyman and state executive councillor.

However, Liu said even if he did sign the letters of support, there would be no conflict of interest as they were issued just after PR had captured Selangor and Tee was not yet a MPK local councillor.

“I am not even sure if Tee’s son was a director of the company at the time,” he told The Malaysian Insider.

Liu is scheduled to also go before the DAP disciplinary committee this Thursday over his role in the issue after Tee had implicated him at an earlier hearing.

To prevent further abuse, Liu yesterday said he has removed all letterheads and seals from his Pandamaran office and suspended his three special assistants.

“From now on, I will sign all letter recommendations,” he disclosed.

This follows complaints that his letters have been used by those seeking preferential treatment.

SHAH ALAM, Aug 8 — Datuk Ibrahim Ali today declared Perkasa will contribute to MCA’s defeat in the next general elections, if its president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek continues to insult Islam.

The Perkasa chief has been saying he is compiling a list of politicians from all parties that the Malay rights group will punish in the next general elections.

“We have a secret strategy specially for a general elections if MCA does not change,” Ibrahim told reporters here.

The independent Pasir Masir MP was responding to Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek claims Umno and Pas had been using religion to compete for Malay votes.

He also lashed out at Dr Chua for saying that Malaysia was not progressing because of Islam and for that some of the most corrupted countries are Muslim-majority nations.

“Where is the proof? Corruption is a universal problem that effects all races,” said Ibrahim.

He also pointed out the former health minister, who resigned after a hidden video recording of him having sex with a woman was leaked to the public, did not have the moral authority to make such statements.

“(He) insults Islam, hurt our feelings. What more he’s a sex video actor who is making the comments,” said Ibrahim.

DAP rebukes Chua over ill-conceived Islamic views

GEORGE TOWN: The DAP today rebuked MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek for trying to pin the blame on Islam for problems faced in Muslim countries. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng called on Chua to raise serious questions on Umno’s rule pertaining to controversial issues such as use of the term “Allah” by non-Muslims and issuance of sports gambling permit.

“Don’t blame Islam for problems in Muslim countries. I think it’s not fair,” he told a press conference at the International Integrity Conference 2010 here today.

Lim was referring to Chua's comment yesterday that Muslim-majority nations were among most corrupt countries in the world.

News/Anal blackout by pro-Pakatan bloggers/media. I surfed Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang and blogs inspired or sponsored by them here and here, among others, but I find very little or no news on the sacking of Tee Boon Hock, the DAP councilor, for allegedly using YB Ronnie Liu's official letterhead to get projects for cronies. Certainly no righteous analysis, no holy editorializing, no campaigning, no attempts even to deny any link between this scandal and the tragic death of Teoh Beng Hock. Maybe they live in another world where the color of the sky is orange.

Maybe they haven't heard?

Ah, well, actually that's the difference I've long noticed between them and the so-called Umno bloggers like Big Dog, Syed Akbar Ali, Bujai and A Voice who'd lynch their own leaders for alleged corruption just as they would crucify the Opposition leaders for the same sin.

p.s. Or maybe they fear what is happening to Teng Chang Khim may happen to them?

Can we organise a candle light vigil for Tee Boon Hock , for the injustice done to him by the DAP morons ?

Guan Eng: 'Arrest me if RM100 payout to senior citizens is corruption'

This Cheap Minister thinks he can buy votes with his RM100 gift to senior citizens . This is political corruption or political bribe , isn't it ?

To look at it from a different perpective , all senior citizens above 60 yrs old is entitled to this RM100 bribe , as to qualify for it you must register your name at only DAP service centers .

If this is indeed for everyone who qualify , why must it be only from DAP service centers ? Why not ask the MPPP who is within the state govt control to pay out these RM(political bribe) to everyone above 60 upon registration at the MPPP office ?

Is there any check and balance that these tax payers money is not paid to fictitious names or double payment or to unscrupulous fictitious accounts set up by the DAP govt for their own coffers ? Only they know since you have to register only at DAP offices or service centers for the entitlement to receive the RM100 bribe money .

You know why only at DAP offices or service centers ? They know that BN senior citizens would never go to DAP offices . In other words they are paying to PR senior citizens only .

They think that all senior citizens above 60yrs old are poor , helpless people . They forget that many senior citizens are still working and still able to look after their own welfare .

There are those who are still chauffered , driving around in posh and luxury cars like BMW and Mercedes , having breakfast along Gurney Drive , etc etc .

Then there are the drug addicts who fall into these category . Giving this money to them will allow them to have a few more jabs for their kicks .

Then there are the gamblers , how great the state govt giving them money to gamble to drink until drunk .

And there are those you really need the money are not given at all simply because they are BN supporters .

But what can you do with RM100 these days I wonder to buy enough sweets to sweeten ones mouths .

What this egoistic Cheap Minister should have done is to set up a fund for these senior citizens requiring medical aid to buy certain drugs not available in hospitals or to pay the deposits required by hospitals for medical teatment or admission .

This would have been a better idea or choice , rather than giving political bribe .

GEORGE TOWN (March 12, 2010): Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said today he is willing to be arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if the state government's Senior Citizen Appreciation Programme can be considered as corruption.

"I am inviting MACC chief commissioner Datuk Abu Kassim Mohamed to attend the launch of the programme on March 21 here. If the programme is considered as corruption, he can arrest me on the spot," he said at a press conference in his office in Komtar.

Lim said the state government is also inviting Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, who is also former Penang chief minister, to attend the launch.

"We will send out the invitations to them to attend the launch of the programme and if they feel the state government giving out RM100 to senior citizens annually is corruption, I will let them arrest me without a fight on that day," he said.

Lim said he was irritated that the state's effort is being sabotaged by his political detractors.
