Whose Side Are You On ?
Sdr Wong Foon Meng
Secretary General , MCA
I am most appalled at the way you have been performing in your duties as the Secretary General of the MCA .
It is either you are not professional enough in the handling of the various issue before you or you are simply incompetent to the extent of not being able to defend the institution that you are holding in trust for .
Your handling of the EGM leaves much more to be desired and as it is a past event , I do not wish to expound you on that issue but I am putting it on record here . You are not only defending your President , the one who appointed you to this very important position but of the Institution of the office of the President , whoever it may be . You are an official to the Institution in this case the MCA . Please bear that in mind , otherwise I shall conclude that you are incompetent and therefor are not qualified to hold this very important post .
I shall now ask you to " buck up " in your handling with renegades , and in this particular instance " Where in the Party Constitution that states that a resignation can be conditional "
Where , can you please show me the under which article it is provided for that a CC member who resigns shall only be effective or valid upon the condition that a certain number of CC s resign . Also where in the world that there are so many conditions attached to a resignation letter ?
Or in future I can also say that my resignation shall only be effective when the Sec. Gen . resigns and then since there's no one to receive my resignation , it is in effect becomes an invalid resignation .
Is there such a thing as a undated resignation letter ? Even this has been proven in the courts that they will not accept any undated resignation letter . The date that the resignation letters are handed in to the Sec Gen is deemed to be the "date" of resignation . Just like when you make a Statutory Declaration the date is chopped is deem to be the date .
Any CC member who resigns shall be treated as having resigned without any prior attachment of conditions , in other words when you resign , it is deemed that you have resigned irrespective of how the letter is worded .
The CC is fully empowered to determine that the said letters, after dated by the Sec-Gen, are valid 'resignation letters', and its decision "shall be final and conclusive and not subject to question by or in any court of law." (Article 174)
And to remove them out of the MCA leadership, the CC only needs the attendance/quorum of 12 members (out of the balance 17 elected members):Article 44.
Article 44. The presence at all times of at least twelve (12) members of the Central Committee shall form a quorum for a meeting of the Central Committee.
Article 42. A member of the Central Committee may resign his office
by letter submitted to the Secretary-General giving his
reasons. The Central Committee shall consider his
resignation at its meeting next after the submission of the
letter of resignation. In the event of any of the elected
members of the Central Committee ceasing to hold office
for whatsoever reason the Central Committee may appoint
another to fill the vacancy until the General Assembly in
which Party elections are held.
Please do not make our Party Constitution into a mockery of the highest order by your incompetence .
I agree. Wong Fong Meng is a useless idiot. He had played out OTK before. He admitted to OTK that he sided with the Brutus because LTL promised him a Tan Sri. This guy is so cheap that he was easily bought with a promise that LTL cannot keep. He is so stupid.
ReplyDeleteThis time, OTK must sack him. He is one who cannot be trusted.
Way to go. J4OTK. Blast this useless piece of human waste.
ReplyDeleteDear J4OTK
ReplyDeleteAlthough I admire OTK for having a backbone, I must say he has very bad judgment on who is actually his allies ... sigh
MCA Watcher
so the standard resignation form is not approved by the special committee or the CCMs? the brutuses play-play with it?so they are really the bloody jokers!!!!
ReplyDeleteCorrect, a ccm cannot contract out of the party constitution and treat it as a private piece of agreement among themselves. If there is no provision that allows the happening of such events/preconditions the resignation letters submitted are invalid. No way this is subject to interpretation as the clauses affecting such resignation are strict and ought to be abided strictly. Incompetence and getting around the clauses are not political games to be tolerated. Treat the laying downs of positions as valid resignations.
ReplyDeleteIf they got balls, they should sign on the standard resignation letters issued by the party without conditions!!! How come the sec gen received the non standard resignation letters!!! Can someone clarify?
ReplyDeleteMCA watcher,
ReplyDeleteOTK is not bad at judging people. IHe is just not good at management or politics. He is too stuborn and trust that Latuk Tee too much.
LA
All party matters should be executed in the MCA HQ and not done during press conference. It should be carried out with dignity and honour. MCA is a registered society and such matters should be done in the Office to avoid any hidden agenda.

1/ AIYA, Tun Dr. M also made several mistakes in his judgement of people what! hahahaha
2/ I suspect that this Terengganu Hainanese was/and still is under immense pressure from several quarters lah....I don't think the "Tan Sri" title was his reason for hugging LTL after 1010 EGM. Every Senate President (Yang Dipertua Dewan Rakyat) "can" get this title as a matter of practice/right....
3/ I knew him since 1990's when my boss & I visited Terengganu MCA a few times a year. His talent is "lebih kurang" only lah. That's why I laughed when he said (after OTK appointed him Chairman of Selangor MCA) he wanted to help BN reconquer Selangor State -by using his 'experience' in Terengganu ( Terengganu BN won back the state govt from Pas in 2008!)....
4. This is the BATTLE of wits [斗智力,才智], you know. It is not 'chairing' a meeting/an assembly like Dewan Negara! We need political veteran like Tengku Adnan of Umno to fill the Sec-Gen's role in MCA....
5. That's why we notice that our Sec-Gen is NEITHER HERE NOR THERE --Pak Turut only lah....What a disappointment (to OTK)!
6. It was widely recognized that Hongkong Tycoon Li Ka Sing is a master in "utilising" people (用人之道):
精于用人之道的李嘉诚深知,不仅要在企业发展的不同阶段大胆起用不同才能的人,而且要在企业发展的同一阶段注重发挥人才特长,恰当、合理运用不同才能的人....
7. Actually I was told that our ex-President, Uncle Tan Koon Swan, was also a master in such area. His term did not last long because of personal fate/destiny....
8. To participate in politics is easy, but some wisemen say, to be a master politician seems to require more than enthusiasm, missions in life, and uplifting of morality lah....
Cheers.

KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen elected MCA central committee members, including vice-presidents Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai....
ReplyDeleteOn other options to resolve the party crisis in the event the fresh election could not take place, Liow said: “We (MCA) will cross the bridge and tell you (media).”
Whis is this Leader of the minority be given the liberty to call the shot? Wihout him MCA would be in one piece.
When can we now wheyther conditional resignations valid/not?
ReplyDeleteIf the CC has already decided on the standard official form for this particular resignation, failing to use it for the said purpose should be deemed invalid. From my experience as head of department.
ReplyDeleteLTL, LJS being in the cabinet
and WFM being the Senate Boss should know better,
Stop the rigmarole being acted by the 13 deliquents. They are really the political clowns of the century.
There is no reason for the other CC members to resign. Not for Najib. Not for Liow. Notice that Wee Ka Siong and Chew Mei Fun have been extremely quiet on this matter.
ReplyDeleteTotal CC=31
ReplyDelete2/3 CC=21
Conditional Resignation CC=13
Balance CC=18
Balance CC would either resign or make conditional resignation.
When all Balance CC resign, still there is no 2/3 resignation, because Balance CC is only 18.
When Balance CC make conditional resignation, still there is no 2/3 resignation, because conditional is different from unconditional.
Therefore Conditional Resignation CC still remain Conditional Resignation CC.
Bobo Socrates
the due date is 25 Dec 2009 so 13 CCMs will expired on that day varify by the special committee and will be brought to the CC meeting for validation... bye
ReplyDeletedue date is the conditional PERIOD by the special committee unless they tarik balik the letters before that

What are u trying to convey???
The majority of the CCM need NOT resign at all. If LTL & Co claim to have strong support, go ahead to show our PM NTR, and achieve the 2/3 (21 members) resignations first.
Otherwise, it is all BULLSHIT 'released' by LTL....
Please note that after the 13 made their "conditional resignations", the balance is 17 left; not 18.
This is because one CCM, Senator Lee Sing Chooi, 56 yrs of age, had gone to be with the LORD on Dec 9, 2008.AMEN.
