Ong wants Pakatan to stop pointing fingers
By Asrul Hadi Abdullah SaniKUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 – The MCA president today asked Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to stop blaming the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) for the Church attacks.
Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat stressed that everybody must let the police handle the current situation.
“I must say that at this juncture since we are all aware that this has been handled by the police, why not we leave it to the police to conduct their work professionally rather than jumping onto the bandwagon by accusing others,” he told reporters at MCA headquarters here.
Thus far, there have been seven attacks against churches over three days.
Petrol bombs were also found at a convent school in Taiping earlier today.
He also urged all Malaysians to not make statements that could incite hate.
“I think it is not just Umno or anybody but rather it applies to all Malaysians and I presume that the overwhelming majority of Malaysians, who are rational, love this country, treasure the existing racial and religious harmony.
“We would certainly be supportive of whatever efforts or initiative designed to enhance our integration and harmony,” he said.
PR has been blaming Umno for raising the mercury in the “Allah” issue .
Ong added that there is “no room for any despicable attacks” in the country.
“There is no room for any despicable attacks that was mentioned earlier. There is no room for that. Nobody in their right state of mind would condone that kind of despicable deeds,” he said.
It is truly regretabble that OTK is playing politics in the sad affair.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you saying anon ? OTK is telling Pakatan to stop playing politics on this issue . If you cannot understand politics please shut up !
ReplyDeleteCSL say wrong doing the same thing in the same hotel. Sabah MCA Brutus Leader doing the same thing in the same place with KCH who just came to Sabah.Sabah MCA is buried after the Allah issue because until now they still mum. They enjoyed BIG MAKAN and not like OTK work hard for the party.
ReplyDeleteWho is at fault here? It is leadership problem. It was the overlooking by leaders in the top echelons who fail to stop the protesting and protestors on the issue. This leads to the mayhem as we see now the results of being used to have all the rights and privileges and fanned by political leaders that led to the situation. So please do not mute the voice of the rakyat in speaking out on this if you want to be fair. First what and who started the issue. Second leaders can't do anything and perhaps by implication says it is okay to protest. Third what is the purpose or motive. To date 4 churches and one scool tourched and three others- one in Sarawak get damaged or defaced. The issue has many ramifications. Politicians should be wise and not play down the issue and hit on the right cord of the clutch of the problem. The public ae watching and they have brains to think for themselves.

ReplyDeleteOTK must resign immediately for inflaming chinese and non muslim sensitivites. He is not a good leader. The chinese community decides to ask him to pack and go and get lost.
Since when did OTK inflamed chinese and muslim sensitivites ? You asked me not to mute the voice of the rakyat , but your comment is unproven and unsubstantiated .
Pakatan is just saying what many Malaysians are saying in their heart. OTK should understand the feeling on the ground. Pointing fingers at Pakatan will not solve any problem.
