The clear and present danger
MM Lee's predictions are by no means novel. But his well-thought remarks have touched the hearts of many a Malaysian. The ratio of Chinese population in this country has been on steady decline over the decades; so has their political status here. Very soon, they will be completely engulfed by the powerful waves of aggressive Islamisation.
This is the pessimistic side of the outlook of their destiny.
But Chinese Malaysians cannot afford to go on this way, and wait helplessly for such a destiny to befall them.
They have to take the initiative to accentuate their own strengths and be in firm control of their own fates before they can divert such a predestination.
The next ten years will be key to the future destiny of Chinese Malaysians. If the country's policies get more and more ethnically-oriented and religiously inclined, the future of Chinese community is well within our imagination, and Chinese Malaysians will exit the country in droves.
On the other hand, if community-centric ideologies get diluted, conflicts between mainstream and minority races get thinned down, the common Malaysian identity gets consolidated, and the spirit of secularity stays very much relevant, then Chinese Malaysians will have a much more promising future here.
So will Malaysia.
What about Singapore and The Bizarre Behaviour of Singaporeans
44 years of economic and material success have spawned some very strange behaviours among Singaporeans. They spent so much to buy a house or flat, furnished it up like a palace, but spent their time outside, most of the time at work. And the maids are the ones enjoying the million-dollar or multi-million-dollar assets..
Then they pay so much, the highest in the world, for a car only to park at home. Too expensive to drive, too many ERPs and car park charges to pay. And they are encouraged to park their cars at home and take public transport, being cheaper and more convenient.
And when Singaporeans travel, instead of seeing the places, they went shopping. The best part is that they would head for the cheapest bargains, buying stuff that they could get in Chinatown or pasar malam, at even cheaper prices. But they are still happy that they got a bargain.
And while the heartlanders are busy trying to make a life here, being told to bust off if they are not happy, which they could not, the rich and presumably very happy and contented citizens are buying up properties overseas just in case they need to make that escape from this paradise.
While many Singaporeans are thinking of jumping ship, or preparing to jump ship, hoards of new immigrants are rushing in to take their place in this paradise.
And to top it all up, they keep complaining about the govt and all the policies that they found unpalatable, but come every election, they will vote and return the govt to power.
Strange Singaporean behaviour

ReplyDeleteHaiyoo. Why wait? No time already.
Once the status quo is restored, your mission is also "accomplished' already. So can close shoplah....
Well done. Best wishes to MCAlah. 皆大欢喜
How clear do you want it to be? To be spelt out that MCA kowtow to the BIG BROTHER? Semua nak jaga periuk nasi, where got JUSTICE
ReplyDeleteI agree with MM Lee's fear that this country turn Taliban, the likelihood is obvious. It will affect Singapore as well in term of trade and business with unfriendly neighbour.
ReplyDeleteDAP is taking a foolish risk to sleep with those people, they may look handsome now but not went those people control the country, DAP will be pushed aside. The decline of Chinese population cannot provide DAP with enough strength to counter those zealot.
We cannot allow those people to gain any foot hold, once that is secure, no change we are able to dismantle them.
Sdra XieAn:
ReplyDeleteI think we need to examine critically these points:
1. The living condition in Afghanistan is so different from Malaysia. There is no "sane" reason for our Muslim brothers and sisters to behave like Talibans;
2. Our Muslim brothers and sisters here adopt the Sunni sect, Shafie-school Islam. They are moderates, mind you.
3. Further, our Muslim brothers & sisters receive "western" influence more than those Talibans. So from their moderate outlook, many of them become "westernised" ( especially their worldview), "more westernised" and "very westernised".
Our main fear in Malaysia is racial clashes. However, as Malaysia progresses to a greater height, rakyat of various races have learnt to tolerate each other, and CO-EXIST for the sake of CO-EXISTENCE.
往好處想. THINK POSITIVE.

there are over 30 million chinese muslim in china alone more than 1000 years ago..so what if the chinese in malaysia convert to islam..
ReplyDeletewhat is wrong with that...if i may ask...
Please don't try to convert anyone as religion is very personal and should not be the agenda of any political party in Malaysia as Malaysians are very diversified in cultures and religions. With due respect, the Muslims in China are mostly confined to the Western part of China who have traces of Turkish blood. Malaysian Chinese are Malaysian Chinese who pledge our allegiance to Malaysia and are given the right as the citizens of this country to determine the type of government for this country.
ReplyDeleteYes, PAS is making use of PR to achieve its agenda in making Malaysia an Islamic State.
Fortunately, Zulkifli and Hassan are very impatient and they reflect the real colours of PAS.
BuddyT,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, I have to refute some of you analysis.
I would like to remind that some PAS people went to Afghanistan for training and that is not for fun. Recently the well educated Malaysian bomber who was eventually killed was not condemn here at large by their kind instead look up as a hero, that already tell us the their mindset. What does the caning of the women who consume beer and stopping some outlets of selling beer tell you, that is not moderates and western influence, but rather Taliban influence step by step.
The PAS spiritual leader was invited to visit Singapore by LKY, but this fellow declined the invitation, why!, to me he does not see eye to eye the progression and modernization of Singapore.
I do hope that you are right that the hand full of westernised Muslim brothers & sisters are weighty in the future direction, but from my experience from my childhood until now, they are heading to the toward the worst direction.
Sdra XieAn,
ReplyDeletePlease don't be pessimisticlah.
1. How many bomb-makers could Taliban train Malays who studied in Pakistan? A few years ago we already ISAed them. Can u recall the KMM--Kumpulan Militan Msia?
2. Noordin Mat Top was a Malaysian but his skill is USELESS here. (Thanks to our excellent security personnel!)That's why he went to Indonesia--where "berani mati", poor/underprivileged/under-nutritioned/underpaid...Muslims (some onlylah) who are easier to be misled and manipulated....
3. Surely u will also recall the Al-Maunah group --the amateurs who managed to fool some stupid army volunteers (askar wataniah) in Gerik and stole some weapons....Later it was found that they didn't even know how to use a grenade-launchers!
4. Let's think positive. Malaysia is not a bad nation to live in. Our Muslim brothers and sisters are actually easy to be dealt with. But we must come with CLEAN HANDS lah....
5. Further, we should fear the "back-stabbers"
more than "extremists"lah. That's what OTK realized after losing 14 votes in the EGM, and suddenly he found his 'political enemy' is easier to talk with, compared to those XIAO REN....
