KUALA LUMPUR (March 18, 2010): Should incumbent president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and former deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek team up for the March 28 party polls against former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting, it is the latter who will be the biggest beneficiary.

A party source said there is a possibility for Tee Keat, who had announced his decision to defend his post last week, to work with Chua again to deny Ka Ting his comeback to party leadership.

However, the source said such a scenario will benefit Ka Ting as more votes from "fed-up delegates" who had earlier supported Tee Keat and Chua will be given to Ka Ting, who had retired one-and-a-half years ago after taking responsibility for the party’s poor showing in the 2008 general election.

"It will be naive for Tee Keat and Chua to think that if they team up again, they may defeat Ka Ting in the polls. On the contrary, the delegates will begin to think that these two leaders are not sincere in rebuilding the party as they had joined forces once under the Greater Unity Plan and obviously the plan did not work out.

"If the two are able to work together seamlessly, we will not see the mass resignation of 21 central committee (CC) members and the fresh polls taking place. Is that so ???

"The delegates have had enough of their unpredictable actions. If the duo do it again, it will only expose their insincerity to the delegates, resulting in their losing support," the source said.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 6, 2009) : MCA information chief Heng Saei Kee and presidential council member Datuk Ti Lian Ker have denied claims that president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat would step down within days.

Both said that as far as they knew, Ong would not quit.

They were responding to claims by some quarters that Ong was quitting and had already removed personal belongings from his office in Wisma MCA.

Heng said she contacted MCA headquarters chief administrative director Lim Chin Hai on Saturday and received confirmation that Ong had not "cleared" his room.

On the contrary, she told Nanyang Siang Pau, the party chief had given instruction to move a gift Chinese painting from the Transport Ministry to his office in Wisma MCA.

"As such, talk that Ong Tee Keat has 'emptied his room', an indication that he is resigning from his party post, is not fair to both the president and the party," she said.

"I will discuss with secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng on the how to deal with such negative talk about the president."

Ti said he was at the party headquarters the whole day on Friday but was not informed Ong's room was being vacated.

He said he did not think Ong would quit at this point in time and blamed the rumour on irresponsible individuals out to create confusion over the MCA leadership issue.

Several central committee (CC) members aligned to Ong also said they did not believe the president would quit in the immediate future.

One of them said it was unlikely Ong would relinquish his party post unless Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak removes him from the cabinet.

Another CC member said: "We have told Ong that although things were not going on smoothly for him as president, it had not reached the extent that he had to quit.

"We believe that if Ong quits at this crucial time, MCA's quota in the cabinet may be affected," the CC member said, adding that Ong was not the sole person to blame for the problems facing the party, as many central leaders, too, have to take the rap.

Meanwhile a CC member close to Ong said the infighting had left the president exhausted both physically and mentally but "he did not appear to want to call it a day in politics".

I met President yesterday and the response to this is , highly ridiculous crazy spin by that fcuking paper . In fact we discussed a lot of issues and one of the issue I brought up is how to reach out to the Mandarin readers to give them an accurate perspective of the latest political issues and news now that we cannot depend on the fcuking group that controls all the Chinese Media except for Oriental Daily and Kwong Wah Yit Poh from Penang .

My Proposals are as follows :

a) Have a Chinese/Mandarin version of the main news in the Star as a supplement like starsports / starmag / etc to be inserted into the newspaper .

b) Or have a tie up with Oriental Daily and Star distributors can distribute Oriental Daily as no news vendor who distributes that fcuking paper will distribute Oriental Daily .

c) This is purely a business /company tie up not requiring the approval from the MCA as in the team A , team B where MCA needs the approval to purhase Nanyang and China Press .

d) Oriental Daily can then be publishing all MCA news factually .

e ) I hope my proposals will be considered in view of the lies , half truths and spins news by that unmentionable paper .

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 5, 2009): Both MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and his suspended deputy Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek are confident that the outcome of the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Saturday would favour them. But only one is likely to be left standing when central delegates vote on five resolutions to resolve the party infighting.

The closeness of the fight has left room for those with their own agendas to manipulate the situation to their advantage.

According to an analysis by the Oriental Daily today, Ong has, in his haste to bring about changes to the party and through his allocation of party posts, caused much dissatisfaction.

Undercurrents abound and many "warlords" are waiting to pounce on the party president's predicament.

Chua aside, Ong is also under siege from these local factions and the so-called third force.

Following a month of intense lobbying by both camps, it is becoming clear that Chua has garnered 60% of support in Selangor and Perak, two of the three states with the most number of central delegates. The two are running neck and neck in Johor, with some analysts giving Chua the advantage.

In Kedah and Penang, delegates saying "nay" to the president are clearly out-numbering the aye-sayers.

It is estimated that both men have some 800 votes in hand.

The report said with Ong and Chua running neck and neck, the four "heavenly kings" of MCA may become the "ultimate kingmakers".

Among the four crucial forces are former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting's remnant loyalists who are now taking orders from his brother Ka Chuan, the former secretary-general who still has a strong following in Perak. Ka Chuan has not openly declared a stand but is believe to be anti-Ong.

Ka Ting's former deputy Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, who draws support from Pahang and delegates, is another force to be reckoned with.

Chan commands slightly more support than Ka Chuan and is said to be displeased with Ong's handling of the Port Klang Free Zone issue. He is expected to make a stand one or two days before the EGM. It is worth noting that Chan has been named by a news portal as the leader of the "third force" and the "real kingmaker".

Another force in contention is low-key vice-president Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, whom many believe may get to sit in the hotseat if both Ong and Chua are rejected by the delegates.

Kong has been working diligently since being appointed a minister and has support in Sabah, Malacca, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan, Penang and Negri Sembilan apart from Perak, where is is based.

Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya Selatan division chief Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, a loser in the fight for the deputy president post last year, is said to still have 50-60 votes in his hand and can make a difference given such a close fight between Ong and Chua.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 24, 2009) : An MCA veteran says that if the need arises, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek's men will seek the help of former party president Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik to lobby for support in the final countdown to the extraordinary general meeting (EGM).

The veteran said that with slightly more than two weeks to go before the Oct 10 EGM, it may be too early to say that Chua's camp will resort to the "old tactic" yet again.

"It depends on whether there is a need, and the situation," he said.

According to a report in Nanyang Siang Pau today, Chua won a three-way fight for the party's No. 2 post last year with the help of Ling.

Ling, who stepped down in 2003 after helming MCA for 17 years, is said to still hold sway in the party.

"Two days before the party elections in October last year, the veteran leader (Ling) met central delegates at a five-star hotel and at his residence where he lobbied for Chua," said the veteran, who was not named in the report.

Recalling the situation then, he said another contender for the post, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, had enjoyed strong support then.

Ling met many central delegates and urged those who would have voted for a third contender, Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, to rally behind Chua.

The tactic worked, tipping the scale in favour of Chua, and causing Ka Chuan to fumble on the eve of the elections.

The veteran said the situation at the moment does not favour Tee Keat and that Chua is having the upper hand.

"But if the situation warrants it, Chua Soi Lek will apply his ultimate killer stroke -- to appeal to the veteran leader (Ling) again to lobby the support of the fence-sitters," the veteran said.

A Chua loyalist said the re-emergence of Chua's sex DVD, which he believed is the work of Tee Keat's supporters, will not undermine support for Chua.

If anything, such a low tactic would only put the delegates off, he said. The re-circulation of the sex DVD has the two rival camps pointing fingers at each other.

I say this SUN's journalist or reporter has been compromised to write such worthless , stupid reports or analysis . Either he an entertainment or sports journalist writing his first political report or he's just pass out with his SPM . There are a few more besides him .

To me TL ( stands for Tun Ling , not tu lan ) or more popularly known as Rotten Fish Head from his famous quotation the fish starts rotting from the head is a very unpopular figure among MCA members and delegates except of course for those die hard fans of his who have benefited in many ways from his excesses from money to titles to position .

Anyone seeking TL's help should also know that most of his machais are no longer delegates except for those Downhill Has Beens whose SUN is setting on the horizon.

Chua won with Ling's help ? Ha ha ha ha ...that's a great joke . Chua won through the Agong's Sign on paper being distributed to all the key divisional heads . Everyone know that except this reporter . Further it is a known fact that recently his son has been seen going round to certain divisions and delegates carrying what looks like a briefcase full of Sarawakian apples . In Sarawak they give money in fruit boxes , but here in Peninsula Malaysia its the other way round .So does it seem like do they need to call the Rotten Fish Head's help ? When the Small Rotten Fish Head has been going round ?

Chua won because many delegates were disillusioned with the Ong Brothers Sdn Bhd and also with the help from Chua Jui Meng's supporters who didn't like to see a Ong Dynasty taking over . Help from the Rotten Fish Head ? Mua Ha Ha Ha !!!!!!

The Rotten Fish Head couldn't even save his son Ling Hee Leong who contested for the Youth Head from being knocked out , they call it Technical Knock Out in boxing terms . They kicked him out , no one wants the Lings . He couldn't prevent his son , Ling junior from getting kicked out ? Ling junior LOST so how could he , Rotten Fish Head helped Chua to win ? Can't help laughing again .
