Councillor among four nabbed in fight at restaurant
KUALA LUMPUR: An Ampang Jaya councillor was arrested along with three men after they were allegedly involved in a brawl at a restaurant in Kuala Ampang, Hulu Kelang.
The brawl, in which a man had his right ear almost severed, is believed to be gang-related.
In the 5am incident yesterday, two groups of men attacked each other with parang and other weapons, Ampang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt Amiruddin Jamaluddin said. At least 10 men were involved.
“During the fight, the 39-year-old restaurant owner was repeatedly slashed and his right ear was severely damaged,” he said.
Supt Amiruddin said police recovered a parang from the back seat of the councillor’s car. From which Barisan Alternative party is he from ?
“The suspects, aged between 27 and 36, are being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possession of weapons in a riot,” he said.
The restaurant owner was sent to a hospital for treatment.
