MCA turns to Najib after Chinese shut-out
This is expected , I won't be surprised MCA got scolded for electing a tainted pornstar as the MCA Pornsident . No wonder he dared not show his face in Hulu Selangor !
HULU SELANGOR, April 20 — The battle for Chinese votes in the Hulu Selangor by-election, especially in 13 Chinese new villages in the constituency, has intensified with both BN and PKR going all out to woo the voters.
While the perception is that the opposition has the edge when it comes to Chinese votes, it has not deterred the BN component parties from organising “ceramah” (talks) nightly, apart from daily walkabouts where the reception is often hostile.
With a few more days to go before polling, BN has intensified its campaign in the Chinese areas, with prime minister and BN chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, expected to visit some of the 13 Chinese new villages in Kuala Kubu Baharu, Rasa, Batang Kali, Ulu Yam, Kalumpang and Kerling.
“It’s not easy for us. Every time we enter a new village, we got scolded. Therefore, we have to improve our strategy by getting more leaders from the MCA divisions throughout the country to help us,” said a grassroots leader.
Besides organising dinners, they have also engaged the Chinese voters through what they term as “sembang petang” (evening chats) with small groups of about 15 to 20 voters in the Chinese new villages.
MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said national as well as local leaders would meet them to explain the government’s policies, the 1 Malaysia spirit and the need to speed up the implementation of fairer policies by Najib.

ReplyDeleteIn the Hulu Selangor by-election, if BN won, it is predictable they will revert back to their old ways of doing things, and if PKR won more doom is expected...we do not have a good choice...it is an ordeal to pick between the devil and demon, which ever way the people are the loser.
ReplyDeleteBN have the resources and their policies of progression are evident but the wide spread of corruption and to bring into play race issues to score point effectively put them in a distasteful spot. On the other hand PKR which until today does not have a clear policies and how they gonna take us to better future is a big question, what we see is their clamor of doom and groom talent which gonna take us to the dogs. This is to say both are useless......Malaysia cannot move forward with such hopeless political parties.
Actually MCA have miss an opportunity, when DS Ong Tee Keat become MCA president, there are hope that he will redeem MCA and take MCA to greater height which shall also serve as a role model to other political party to emulate. His approach to change and transformation will make MCA cleaner and stronger, but I was deadly wrong with MCA people, they can't forgo their inherent inclination to self serving interest, that is their weakness. ......

KUALA LUMPUR: The Road Transport (Amendment) Bill which proposes compounds for traffic summonses to be increased from RM300 to RM1,000, will be withdrawn.
ReplyDeleteMinister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz confirmed that the bill, which had been tabled for first reading in Dewan Rakyat on Monday and scheduled to be debated in a day or two, will be withdrawn.
"The bill will be re-tabled in the Parliament meeting in June," he said, adding that he would have to explain to the Cabinet about the withdrawal of the bill, which has a total of 51 amendments.
Two other proposals - increasing the minimum age to apply for a motorcycle licence from 16 to 17 years and for only the Director-General of Road Transport to assign a number plate, will also be dropped.
He said the backbenchers had written to him, saying that the three proposed amendments were "not people-friendly."
Nazri also said the RM1,000 proposed fine was deemed too harsh for the lower income group and the increase in mininum age of driving licence for motorcycle might affect students in rural areas, where motorcycle is their mode of transport to attend school.
The proposed amendment on car number plate to be assigned only by Road Transport may not be able to solve problems of forged number plate as well, he said.
Asked whether the u-turn on the bill was related to Hulu Selangor by-election, Nazri said it was not in his mind at all when he made the decision.
Backbenchers club deputy chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin said the MPs spent two days with Road Transport Department, Transport Ministry and other agencies to discuss about the proposed amendment.
He said discussions with them would continue in order to have a people-friendly bill.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng also questioned the Government's move to increase the traffic offence fine from the present RM300 to RM1,000.
The Bagan MP added the authorities should have concentrated more on enforcement and education for motorists instead of imposing higher fines.
"This bill was hastily passed without proper discussion in Parliament.
"It should be withdrawn and brought to a select parliament committee for further discussion.
"The authorities should have looked into the problem of lack of enforcement instead of increasing the fines.
"Many people have complained to me that the fines are excessive and the amount is more than they can afford," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

This blog will raise all issues whether its from the Transport Ministry or from any Ministry that is NOT GOOD for the General Public and for Malaysians. This issue has been raised by many of us with the Transport Minister that increasing the fines for traffic offenses will lead to more corruption .
Offenders will be more than happy to bribe than pay the compound even though its a very stern warning to would be traffic offenders where many Malaysians have totally no regards for the law .

But this time falls at the HS by election at the critical moment and unfair to BN Candidate if the bill is passed. Similar also too many personal attack to Hj Zaid Ibrahim as beer drinker will pay no respect to a HAJI.So if have one good time and hope the J4otk and put a motion for discussion further into this issue and deleted posting like PETER TAN smart to use flimsy opportunity to attack OTK supporters here.

Tetapi apabila 900 perwakilan memilih CSL ganti DSOTK dalam pilihan tiga penjuru, kaum Cina berasa amat sedih ,kecewa dan tidak faham CSL boleh dipilih sebagai Presiden MCA , kaum Cina bukan mahu menentang BN , itu suatu perasaan tidak puas hati. Sebagai pemilih saya pun susah juga mahu bercerita dengan kawan Cina untuk sokong BN bila melihat CSL sebagai Presiden di parti MCA.
