Fairus quits PKR to join Umno

Did Guan Eng redirect this to Anwar ? Wa tak tau , tanya Anwar when he was asked about Fairus resignation in Singapore by the foreign media and press corps who seems to know while he Guan Eng as Chief Minister was not aware his deputy has resigned ! What a joke !

KUALA LUMPUR – Former Penang deputy chief minister 1 Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin Sunday night announced that he was leaving Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) to join Umno.

mohd_fairus01He made the announcement in front of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is also Umno president, at a function with the Silat Seni Gayung Association in Ampang.

Mohammad Fairus then handed his Umno membership application form to Najib.

Earlier in his speech, Mohammad Fairus, said his decision to quit PKR was because he had lost confidence in the party leadership, especially on matters concerning Islam and the Malays.

"I see that the PKR leaders cannot uphold the sovereignty of the Malays and sanctity of Islam. I am also disappointed with the way PKR handles the issue on the use of the word Allah," said the former Penanti assemblyman.

PKR leadership

Meanwhile, Najib said Mohammad Fairus' decision to quit PKR shows that other leaders were losing confidence in the party leadership.

Najib said the action of Mohammad Fairus who was a senior PKR leader and who had held a senior post in the Pakatan Rakyat-ruled Penang, was a good example.

"From what I gathered from his speech is that he has lost confidence in the PKR leadership and that PKR had failed to protect the fundamental policy of harnessing the true values of Islam," he said.

In welcoming Mohammad Fairus as a new Umno member, Najib said: "We welcome him with open arms and I know Fairus made the decision based on principle and policy, not because of position or incentives. Welcome to Umno".— Bernama

PKR defections in Anwar's stronghold

BUKIT MERTAJAM – A group of 77 Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Youth members have resigned from Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s stronghold in Permatang Pauh on Sunday to join Umno, Sunday Star reported.

Among those who quit were the Guar Jering branch deputy Youth chief Fakhrul Che Umar and treasurer Hesabudin Md Isa.

“After two years in power, the bickering between the Pakatan component parties has worsened. Can you imagine what will happen if Pakatan controlled the Federal Government?” Fakhrul said at a ceremony witnessed by Penang Umno chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

  1. Good for PKR. The less betrayers the better. All rubbish from PKR should be thrown into the rubbish dump.
