MYSTERY: Anwar's Defense team blurr on how to counter examine?
The defense team is supposed to start cross-examination today and a large number of the leadership of PKR came eagerly to hear the cross-examination to pick on some political points.
But instead, defense counsel Karpal Singh came late and applied for the judge to be disqualified.
The issue is frivolous one. Everyone knows Utusan Malaysia was merely quoted exactly from court proceeding. Pakatan Rakyat politicians particularly DAP have been picking on Utusan Malaysia for political reasons. Opposition online and published publication have clearly cross contempt of court to the area of sedition.
Why did they requested the judge to be disqualified?
One can suspect that the defense team is not ready to cross examine. There are reasons to believe that the defense team believed in Saiful's testimony. His story has thus been rock solid.
Despite being presented by the evidence and knowing the prosecution's line of attack earlier from their opening statement, there is no reason for the defense to delay any further.
It only means they are at a loss as to how to provide a counter arguments.
Those arguments and conspiracy theories being bandied around by opposition are frivolous and have insufficient legal ground and logically strength that could be easily answered or counter attacked.
They are aware that the prosecution team is very well prepared. Their big fear is that the prosecution and Saiful have laid out many traps for them to pursue. When they take the bait with some obvious and expected lines of arguments, their clients Anwar Ibrahim will be further embarassed by more revelation from Saiful.
The defense team is really at a loss as to how to make a counter argument work. They are aware that evidences - direct and forensic with other supporting arguments - available with the prosecution are very strong.
The only reason is to delay is to buy time to get the Reformasi demonstration off the ground. They are buying time for reasons only to create public unrest rather than to see the trial through in the proper legitimate way.

The facts & reality laid out today are very distressing to say the least:
ReplyDelete1. The unspinners are the ultra umno hawks. such as bigdog, parpukari you only have to visit their website to hear the vitriol and lies. YET they are quoted here. GOOD that gives you an idea where MCA & their ilks are coming from.
2. This case is so slanted, the judge so biased, the rules of a trial all abandoned..that it should not even have proceeded LET ALONE have this judge barred.
The defendent should hv just disappear because he should know he has no way to escape the clutches of the "law" and judges like Agustine Paul. BUT surely again we might have to let the heavens decide- just like in A.Paul's case.
Everyone is now relying on the 'Tien' as in Heaven. Pathetic.
3. All the circumstantial evidence points to the fact the this Saiful is a mole of the ruling junta yet the ilks of JUSTICE4otk have the gall to go along with his Master. This shows MCA is always a partner and servant of the Master.

Ya sure just like you jumping into conclusion that higher ups are also involved in the disappearance of the 50 million jet engine which is grossly incorrect in two sense . the engine never cost that much and no higher ups were involved .

Where's the proof that these people are from UMNO ? Better watch what you say here ! The arrests of the perpetrators and produced in court so far have not indicated they are UMNO members and moreover do you think a father can stop a son from committing crimes just like the so called father of Malaysia Today who cannot even stop his son from stealing and trying to tell others ? So even if they are from UMNO in name since UMNO has over 3 million members , do you think UMNO can control and stop its people when they have made up their mind ?
Why not Anwar control his PKR MPs with their recent outbursts ?
Why did Nik Aziz didn't bring up his son properly until he was arrested and intern under the ISA for activities detrimental to National Security ?
The people who have more reasons to do what you said would be the opposition not BN so that the Anwar case can be postpone due to the chaotic situation in the country !
