PETALING JAYA, Nov 21 — MCA’s mysterious “snoop squad”, which reportedly preyed on political rivals within the party but was dismissed as a hoax, has been blamed for the current leadership tussle by party elder Datuk Theng Book.
The former pro-tem chairman of the “Save MCA” campaign today urged party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat to reopen the case involving the shadowy unit, saying he has firm evidence to back his claims as it affected his client.
“Justice needs to be done for my client. It is not fair to say that my client is telling lies. The snoop squad is also the cause of today’s problems in MCA,” Theng told the reporters here.
Theng, acting as a lawyer for Wong Leong who lodged the original report over the snoop squad, claimed he received internal documents that corroborate the story of his client, even though a party investigation panel had dismissed claims of a snoop squad.
He showed reporters copies of the internal reports prepared by an investigation committee, which were dropped at his office two weeks ago by an anonymous party.
Theng also claimed “invisible hands” were trying to topple popularly-elected leaders in order to impose “minority rule.”
The snoop squad was alleged at one point to have been linked to former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting and used to gather information on his rivals. Its members were alleged to have been current MCA vice president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, deputy youth and sports minister Datuk Wee Jeck Seng, and Tee Ann Chuan.
The investigation committee concluded in June last year that it found no proof of the existence of a snoop squad, nor of Ka Ting’s involvement.
Theng, however, says the internal documents have given him reason to question the conclusion.
Liow and Wee are currently embroiled in a leadership tussle with Ong in MCA.

Ka Ting, as I wrote b4 in this blog, always pointed his spear inward; he killed almost every senior leaders who blocked his upward mobility in MCA....
Lee Kim Sai, Chua Jui Meng, Chan Kong Choy, Lim Ah Lek, Chua Soi Lek...to name the big guns who were stabbed by Ka Ting from the back!
OTK at that time was a threat to Ka Ting, but KT was not afraid, becoz Dr. Ling disliked OTK. So there was no way that OTK cpuld challenge Ka Tingt for the Presidency....
But human skill in using abacus (sempoa) sometimes fails in calculations also. This is because the Heaven/"Tian" which decides everything....That's why we noted that Hailam Taiko Mr. Tan Koon Swan couldn't lead the MCA even though he succeeded in knocking off Neo Yee Pan in 1980's....
Our OTK may need to learn from history: Hainanese President may require a Hokkian or Teochew deputy to run MCA....CSL is a Teochew. So are Tan Ching Liang & Senator Hing from the wanita wing vs Hailam CMF....
In the past, MCA was led by Hokkian/Baba/Hokkian/Hockchew (Foochow)--they are all from the same "Fujian" root but different branches only....
BACK TO KA TING:
Now it is the golden opportunity to put his elder brother Ka Chuan at the right place, after he failed to keep him (KC) at No.2 becoz of CSL in Oct 2008.
Thank you Datuk Theng Book, a self-studied hardworking lawyer, for refreshing CSL & his supporters about this "snood squad" --in case CSL is contemplating to "cooperate" with Liow so that OTK can be toppled.
The chains of events must be highlighted, until majority of the delegates understand the causes of our party's crisis...and, most important, REJECT once for all the Ong brothers and their "puppet" Liow....
Once this is done, all other factions may CLOSE RANKS already, and get back to work!

Dr Chua said he had only learnt through press reports that former party president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting was not involved in the squad.
“Even dead people are exhumed for pathology reports. In the interest of transparency and to make sure that people are satisfied with the findings, the report must be revealed,” he said.....>>>

PENANG, Nov 22 — MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and his group have consulted their lawyers on the validity of holding the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) this year.
ReplyDeleteThe health minister said they had consulted a big legal firm in the country on the validity of holding the EGM scheduled for Nov 28, and contended that their calling for it was based on the party’s constitution.
Could LTL please name the law firm that you have consulted which confirmed that the 2nd EGM is legal. Also do not be illusive to the point of being hypothetical, state specifically the justifications given by your very big legal firm proving the legality of the EGM. We are not fools to be easily taken for a ride. OTK and CSL have named the renowned lawyers and a famous law firm which they have consulted regarding the legality of the EGM. They were of the opinion that the EGM is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
LTL, WKS and CMF are you conversant with the Party Constitution? No, isn't it. Please refer to the Party Constitution before making statements which touch on it.
The 2nd EGM was legally requisition according to Article 30.2. But the reasons given and the resolutions in the requisition for the EGM were defective with irregularities thus making the EGM UNCONSTITUTIONAL. How could you conduct an EGM with unconstitutional resolutions?

We only need to win six seats in Penang for MCA to retake the Penang govt . We have already identified those seats . Let them have enough rope to hang themselves . We work on those PKR seats which are the weakest . IF OTK comes out well half our problem resolved .

Please read in between the lines ........have consulted their lawyers on the validity of holding the EGM ...have consulted ...and the lawyers didn't say valid or NOT valid .
They are finding an excuse to get down from the tigers back .
If PM Najib say the EGM is canceled , they will not say PM asked them to cancel it . They will say their lawyers advised them that their EGM is not valid :) Which is highly expected that they will be asked to cancel their EGM .
If they at the very last minute thinks that they will not get the required quorum which again is highly the case , they will say their lawyers advised them that their EGM is not valid :)and hence their EGM is therefore canceled .
Save face , if not lau kooi .
So this is their preemptive statement before the actual statement . Already expected judging from the turnout at their roadshows . Heard that their roadshows in Penang ,Island and Mainland only attracted 35 delegates who are there to listen and might not necessarily support them . The rest are there for the free food and filling up empty chairs .

This crook Tee Ann Chuan was formerly the President of Gerakan Belia Bersatu (GBB)who formed the GBB Koperasi.
With Koperasi money (life savings of Chinamen & Chinawomen) Tee bought and controlled Kin Kwok Daily News in the 1980's.
During the crackdown of "Koperasi scandals" by Finance Minister Daim, Tee was one of the Koperaasi founders who were charged for taking illegal deposits and jailed for "some" years....

CSL not need refer to Big Lawyer Firm to reopen the files of the snoop squad from which LTL is purported personally involvment.LTL is puppet of the 2 big snakes, investigating him may get new & strong evidence as WKS/CMF always quote DEMOCRACY & RESPECT must uphold in the party. Corpse buried also can go for pathology investigation. Files is shelved does not means is ended. Since some ppl have seen uncle Tee An Chuan always appears in the office of health minister, there may be something happening. LTL say he was immuned and should not scare the file is opened for further investigation or CSL may put is as a condition for fresh party election which expected next March.

It does not matter where Kalambong comes from. He has high spirit for BN!
However, I do not share his optimism on Penang--i.e. that MCA must strive to capture the state from DAP/PR....
MCA cannot operate alone in Penang. It has to work with Gerakan & Umno.
Not all Penangnites "love" DAP/PR. They merely dislike Umno, and as a consequencce, they also look down upon Gerakan & MCA....
Sdra LGE may not be efficient as CM during the first few years, but the voters will definitely "excuse" him, because he is 'smart' in blaming the Federral BN Govt. for sabotaging the state administration....
I don't think it is wise to mention MCA in Penang. We ought to talk about the whole team, i.e. BN if we want to topple the PR govt in the next GE. Otherwise, Gerakan may get jealous and in the end, it is DAP/PR that is going to benefit.
Lim Keng Yaik said BN could only think of taking back Penang in 10 years. This means in the 14th GE!
Penang is unique because majority of the voters are Chinese. Then come the Indians. Worst still, when the poor Malays decided to support PKR/PAS & even DAP!
[It is interesting, at this point, for us to examine why Singapore was always won by PAP even after joining Msia i 1963...,and why Tunku Abdul Rahman had no choice but to kick the Island OUT from Malaysia....]
BN should concentrate on all other states, and it would be lucky already if it could maintain 2/3 majority in the Dewan Rakyat after next GE!

ReplyDeleteGUP being sanctioned by the CC should not be aborted. The credibility of the party is at stake. LTL, WKS and CMF were at the CC meeting which had deliberated the plan and has been accepted by the majority CCMs. How could the minority which included LTL, WKS and CMF be allowed to go against GUP. It is UNDEMOCRATIC. Do not set precedence as it will have serious implications and repercussions on the future party directions and objectives. It is also morally, politically and constitutionally WRONG. WHAT GOES ROUND WILL COME AROUND. MCA will be destroyed by this type of NEGATIVE CULTURE. Practising what I termed REVERSED DEMOCRACY should not be allowed.
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with GUP which has been inclusive to stabilize the party? Any Plan or Blue Print will need fine tuning and adjustment after implementation and the committee members appointed should give justifiable recommendations at this stage to improve the plan. How would it affect the morality and credibility of the majority CCMs who supported the GUP? Focus on implementing GUP first and when the party is really by all means go ahead with the re-election which should be conducted in accordance with the party constitution.
Can re-election at this time unite MCA? Be sincere. MCA needs cooling off period and GUP to stabilize the party first. We are human. Emotionally unstable and anger might affect our judgement.
MCA needs leaders who care for the party and not those with self vested interests. Respecting the hierarchical set up of the party will save MCA. Without this very basic disciplinary principle instilled in the members, any one who sit on the chair will fail as showing defiance inside and outside meetings will be the ill afford culture for the survival of the party.
If everyone could change their mindsets for the sake of the party, the small problem faced by the party created by the small minority should be solved easily. WE CAN ALTER THE IMPASSE OF THE PARTY BY ALTERING OUR ATTITUDES.

Sorry, Sdra. I don't think the GUP is the priority now.
We are talking about party re-election which is INEVITABLE already:
LTL wanted it in Dec 2009.
CSL said only in March 2010.
OTK was reported to indicate Oct 2010 (new voting system)
It was reported that TS Muhyiddin will "kow-tim" all factions by Wednesday, 25 Nov....
My personal view is: Mid Jan 2010.
All politicians need to face election/challenges. So the sonner we face it the better.
OTK has 3 options: (a) Take the bull/ox (LTL & gang) by the horns; (b) Go & join our learned lawyer Chua Jui Meng; or (c) Retire from politics & go lecturing....
My personal view: PLEASE FACE THE CHALLENGES HEADS-ON. This is your final hurdle in political struggle. 潇洒走一回!

Go look up the archive of usenet, before the last century ended, someone from Penang did challenge LKS to come to Penang to contest a parliamentarian seat, and told LKS that he would lose if he dare to come.
LKS took that challenge, came to Penang, and LOST !!
Penang people don't play play with anyone.
We kick LKS out, and then we kick out Gerakan (all of them from Penang !!)
So now is the time for MCA to start re-organizing.
Do you know why I tell you about Penang?
Because the good people in MCA need an incentive, and Penang is a good enough incentive for MCA to get their act together.
For too long, MCA has been fighting itself, and you guys missed out the chance on Penang.
Penang's people aren't fools. We need good leaders, and MCA has a lot of good leaders.
We kick out Gerakan because they have treated us like fools. We will kick DAP out when they start treating us like fools.
That's where the chance for MCA comes in.
Penang doesn't want Gerakan anymore, J4OTK.
No, we don't want Gerakan. We want MCA.
So forget about the thought of "working with Gerakan" because we can't tahan Gerakan anymore.
MCA, on the other hand --- other than LTL who has given MCA a really rotten PR --- is still enjoying rather sterling reputation in Penang.
In conclusion: It's all up to you guys.
Either you guys lift yourselves up and re-take Penang...
Or continue to mire in your own shadow-boxing drama and forever be a laughing stock of all Malaysians.
